The owner of the eagle's eyes looked at me calmly. It was as if he was thinking of a way to kill me. Last night I got an idea from him to look for Edgar's brother by tracking his cell phone number.
“How to understand?” ask Om Hasa. I forgot I was in the meeting room.
“I don't think he understands our purpose here, Pa,” said Kak Iyash as he rose. “From earlier he daydreamed and did not pay attention.”
He's correct. I didn't notice what Om Hasa said.
Suddenly Brother Iyash leaned his body in front of me. “If you want to work, yes work do not bring personal business to the office. Don't be arrogant, you can't necessarily survive here.”
For the second time I had no face. If I were to be humiliated again, I don't think I could survive in a place like this.
“Iyash, he may not understand yet, you should explain his duties here.”
“So Papa explained, ‘kan?” Iyash then looked at Akbar. “You understand?”
Brother Akbar nodded.
I'm getting embarrassed. If I hadn't imagined the series on Aunt Miranti's face this morning, I probably wouldn't be like this, but it's all because I'm happy, how not, for the umpteenth time I'm proud that I won Aunt Miranti's heart. Maybe that way, I can easily get Brother Edgar.
“Cha,” call Om Hasa slowly. “Please you should be serious in this field.”
“I'll teach him,” said the flat-pitched man.
I'm flabbergasted. But I saw Om Hasa smiling.
“Ngak, Om. I know what I have to do,” I said I was kind of understanding.
“Ngak. He lied.”
“Good if you understand, but Om think Iyash is right, you can't work alone, so let Iyash teach you.”
“Om, but–”
“This meeting is done, so everything is in order, Akbar will work with Ando, and Marissa with Iyash.”
“Together?” I was too surprised by that word. “Om.” Iyash's sister held my hand as she found out that I was going after Om Hasa who just came out of the meeting room.
“Sit, this is an order,” tell that cocky guy.
His thick eyebrows formed a line like an army ready to face me. I had to get my ass back.
Iyash then walked forward and took over the chairmanship of the meeting. He told me that he had just bought a unit. At first I thought it wasn't important, but it was all that important when he said I had to design the interior.
“How do you understand?”
I had to nod.
“While to Akbar, I was quite impressed with his design, yesterday he showed me pictures of a room he designed. Later let Ando determine your task, the rest of the Caroline team will take care of your next job.”
I don't care what Caroline's team does. I'll just figure out how I quit this company and get a job at another company.
Brother Iyash never stopped explaining about this company to us. He says there is always a fifty percent discount for those who have the same birthday as this company. Again I don't care.
Alternately, the other office leaders explain their respective duties. Each field has two members led by one person. Only the new employee works with one person, Iyash and Iyash. Akbar and Mr. Ando.
Everyone broke up after Iyash closed the meeting, only I was lazy to leave the room. Today's meeting has my mentality forged. I don't think I can protect myself from the polar bear.
“You, come with me!”
I gasped at his baritone voice. The arrogant, cold and annoying man immediately left without explaining where I should follow him. Then let it be, I won't be coming before he explains why I should follow him. Two minutes later suddenly while alone in the meeting room, I heard someone knocking on the door.
“Marissa, awaited Mr. Iyash in the parking lot.”
Heart's sniffing.
I got up and took my breath. “God, give me even more patient stock because every time I have my patience stock is thinning.”
Before two minutes, I was in front of the man's car. He gestured for me to get into his car. And now I sit next to him, while the car is driven Mr. Engkus. All the way he didn't talk and didn't even look at me at all. I'm bored because I can't stay for a long time along the way, except sitting by myself I might be busy playing cell phones, but now I'm not allowed to play cell phones, I can only watch the road.
“Kak,” call me hesitate. “I can call?”
“Don't get used to it,” he replied without looking at me.
“This is important.”
I imagined that I had just pulled her collar and made her look at me. I think the Alaskan polar bear should be taught a lesson.
“Down! When are you going to be there?”
My heart slipped when he got out of the car.
“Pak, have you arrived from earlier?” I asked Mr. Engkus.
“New to, Mbak.”
“Oh.”
I got down and followed the man. He kept walking regardless of me, he didn't even give me time to get into the elevator. I pecked as the elevator was about to close, suddenly a hand held it.
“Thank you,” I said to the bespectacled man who had just held down the elevator door.
He smiled and let me in first.
I stood in the middle, between Brother Iyash and the man. I didn't notice how he looked, I just focused on his glasses.
“Living on what floor, Ma'am?”
“I don't live here, Mom. Coincidentally again there is work.”
“Oh.” He looked at me. “What work?”
“Interior design.”
“Wah, coincidence. I just moved and need people to design my apartment.”
“Oh yes?” many enthusiast.
Then he extended a hand. However, when I was about to welcome him. Iyash's sister snatched by giving her business card. “He works in my company, if you need interior design services or others, can contact us at this number.”
I rolled my eyeballs lazily. The man only smiled clumsily as he received the business card. “Good, thank you.”
However, not stopping there, he again reached out and introduced himself. “Dion.”
I warmly welcome the introduction of the man. “Marissa.”
He smiled as he let go of his hand. The dimples on her cheeks made her look sweet.
“Ehem!” Deheman Kak Iyash made us nervous. And then the elevator stopped. He came out first and I caught up with him, but I said goodbye to that guy named Dion.
I followed Brother Iyash from behind. However, suddenly the polar bear stopped and I accidentally hit his back.
“Sorry,” I said slowly.
He did not answer and immediately opened the door of a room. Then step inside. I followed him from behind, then took a step in the other direction, before he stopped as suddenly as before.
“I don't care what you're going to do with this place, which I obviously want you to do properly and to the fullest extent possible. Remember, every object has its value.”
I soaked my throat while staring at his straight back. Instead of saying his words, I thought, since when did he stop smiling?
“This is not what will determine whether you keep working in the office or not. But, how comfortable you are with your work.”
I'm poignant. I think this is where I decide whether to accept it or not. Though I was going to make him not like the results of my design, so I could go out and find a job in another company. However, it turns out that I was wrong, precisely this is where my quality was at stake.
“Prepare the design today, tomorrow we start.” He then looked. “From yesterday you were silent, lest you do not understand.”
“Ngerti, Brother.”
“One more time,” he brandished his index finger, “I am your superior, not your senior, so stop calling me Brother.”
“If it is, I cannot, Brother,” reject me smooth.
He turned his head and looked at me sharply, yet, did not rule me anymore. He went out and left the room where I was standing.
I'm pensive. "What's wrong?" I asked myself that.
