Fate Breakers

Fate Breakers
Peme Village

Riel managed to escape from the pursuit of the royal soldiers. He decided to start his journey to the kingdom of Datraoch to meet Airayle.

The Sapphire kingdom.

"Your Majesty, forgive my son's extremely unnoble treatment. If he's caught, I won't hesitate to punish him according to the law." Curze seemed to really regret his son's actions.

"It's Curze. As long as this news does not spread in the community it is enough. We only need to think about what answer we will give if the people ask the location of the disgrace of the kingdom. Are we saying enough that he's being given a mission out of the kingdom?" Queen Liveda looks overwhelmed now.

News of the incident did not reach the ears of the people. However, sooner or later the people will realize that Riel is no longer visible in Sapphire.

The organization led by Simon had not moved again after Riel managed to escape from the palace. Are their coup plans still going to continue or are they drawing up new plans for the next steps?

Meanwhile, Riel who did not bring preparations for adventure could only rely on the environment to survive. He hunts animals to eat and finds rivers to drink.

"Damn it, if it goes on like this I could die on the way. I have to find a town or a village and earn a living there for a while." Mumbled Riel.

"If the mother's story is true, there should be a village that is severely deprived of food. Would I be able to earn a wage if I helped them get food? Just give me the meat of hunted animals in this forest." Riel continued her journey after resting on the river bank.

--

Riel made it out of the forest. He was surprised that his mother's story was true. In front of him was now a slum village with abnormal building architecture. The walls are made of tree trunks that are not even shaped in such a way. Likewise, the roof is only made of branches that still have thick leaves. It's really a settlement that Riel wouldn't meet in Sapphire.

"So this is the village of Peme that mom told me about? I wish I could earn here." Riel stepped steadily towards the village. Wishing he could get a job in return for enough to continue his journey.

The village was like a dead village. Riel barely saw a single resident anywhere.

"Hey hey, where did these villagers go? I want to help them. Although I'll ask for a reward later hehe." Riel went around the village filled with tree houses.

"Pstt, hey who are you?" There was a voice heard from one of the houses around Riel.

"Ah, I'm just an adventurer. I heard this village is experiencing a food crisis. Can I help you guys and get a little reward? I need funds to continue my journey." Riel answered a voice that came out of nowhere.

"The village is over. Nothing can be saved. You better continue your journey a little further east. You'll find a pretty big city. And you can find a job there." The voice answered again. It sounded like a helpless woman.

"At least show yourself. It is impolite to greet a guest only by voice." Riel was curious about the condition of the people here.

"My family and I are in the house right on your right." Riel turned to a house on her right.

"All right, I'm going in." Riel stepped foot into the house.

"You'd better prepare your mind, adventurer."

Riel was standing in front of the house which the voice had said earlier. He just fell silent. The house has no doors or windows. Then how do they get inside?

"Ah you definitely can't get in. Actually the houses in this village are just a disguise. We live underground in this artificial village. Go to the back of this house, there's a dugout that leads down here."

Riel obeyed what the voice had said. He went behind the house and sure enough, he found a hole covered in twigs and thick leaves. Riel moved the twig and went into the hole.

The scenery was very different from what Riel had just seen above the surface. Below here awoke a village that was quite prosperous. The structure of the building is not much different from the one above. However, the building here is more tidy because the trees are cut to form in such a way. Hundreds of lanterns hung on the ceiling like artificial stars that illuminated the village.

Riel's mother never told me about this. This time Riel saw it directly with her own eyes how the village was.

"Hey you, adventurer with a black scarf." Someone seems to be calling Riel.

"Ah, come. Why in this village is there always a voice that comes from nowhere? Is it hard to show your face when talking to people?" Complain Riel.

"We are always the arrival of adventurers with dark souls. They adventure to take small villages like this one. So we learned this camouflage magic so that dark-spirited adventurers thought our village had been taken away." The voice still did not show its form.

"Camouflage magic? Is magic real? Then why are you talking to an adventurer like me if you're afraid your village will be taken?" Riel thinks that magic is just a fairy tale. Although now he is looking at an irregularity, but Riel thinks this can still be explained by logic.

"I see your soul. Your soul has only one determination. There was no evil intent. Your soul is still too weak for adventure."

"Well, I just want to go to Datraoch to meet someone. By the way what's your name? At least I can call you even if I can't see you."

"I'm Lularia."

"I'm Riel. So Lularia, I'm actually here to-"

"I know what your purpose is here. Maybe I can't give you the reward you want, but I can give you something that might be useful for your adventure." Lularia cut Riel's speech.

"Haha shit, it looks like you can actually read someone's soul."

"You've already said your purpose up there. Come inside."

Riel was taken to the biggest house in the village. Maybe it's Lularia's house. The architecture is the same as other houses. Filled with some household furniture whose shape is not much different from what Riel has in the house. It's just that everything is made of wood.

"Sit down. Just get to the point. If you're looking for a job in this village, maybe you can help us defeat the creatures that took over our food resources. That's if you can fight." Lularia's voice sounded troubled.

"What should I face?" Riel was just thinking about the rewards.

"The village was built using the resources of the Giganus forest. Wood and feed materials we usually take from there. But 50 years ago, a Summoner summoned a monster there. The monster did not attack the village. However, we became afraid to go to the forest to take natural resources. We can only ask for help to adventurers whose hearts are as clean as yours. So please, get us some food and we'll reward you."

"I just need to pick up the groceries and bring them here, right? No need to beat that monster? All right I'll do it. Just prepare my rewards for this job."

Riel got up from her seat and immediately rushed out of the underground village.

Actually Riel did not believe Lularia's story earlier. He simply assumed that the monster told him was nothing more than an ordinary savage beast. So that he can gallantly step forward without knowing what he will actually face.
