Fate Breakers

Fate Breakers
Initial Step

It did not feel like 8 years had passed since Riel's father was made king. Riel who had promised herself not to be governed by anyone began training to become a soldier. He did it because of his own desire. Although his father sometimes limited his training time, Riel continued to train hard secretly so that his father would not disturb him again.

That night in a pine forest far from the palace, Riel trained alone.

"Fuck the prince. I don't give a shit. Why does it have to be like this? Aargh!"

Riel continued to complain while shooting her arrows towards the tree in front of her.

"You should be grateful young master. Rarely can a man without royal blood lead this country." There was an old man's voice coming from the forest.

"Show me your form." Riel put on a cynical face.

Slowly a silhouette of a hunchback man emerged from within the forest and walked up to Riel.

The figure of the old man began to be clearly visible. Her unraveling white hair and the lines on her face made her look familiar to Riel.

"You, Simon." Riel knew the old man.

"Ahaha, you've grown up, Riel." Simon approached Riel who looked suspicious.

"Do you want what?"

"I? Ah, it looks like it would be more suitable if I said the word 'we' to represent everything." Suddenly the forest was filled with people dressed as Assassins. With black hoods covering their heads and faces. Everything stood around Riel.

"Don't tell me you ordered me to arrest me and take me back to the palace." Riel began to stand by with her arrow bow.

"Huh? Who would want to obey an illegitimate king like your father?" Simon is talking. The others just remained silent. Mum.

"Haram's king? Ah, I get it now. And I had expected that there would be such an action." Riel saved back her bow.

"As far as you guys. I don't even like this situation. The circumstances under which I was required to be a prince. Cih, disgusting. If you want to stage a coup, do it. I don't give a shit." Riel looked at Simon calmly this time. There was no more snide and suspicious look in his eyes.

"Haha, this haram prince seems resigned to his destiny. Before we launch a coup, it would be better if an illegitimate prince like you is wiped off the face of the earth. Because there's a chance you'll inherit your father's illegitimate throne after he dies." Simon beckoned to his group by raising his right hand.

"On behalf of King Legnasio. I order you to meet him in the afterlife!" Simon's hand was now pointing towards Riel.

Before he could get ready, a radish floated in front of Riel's face.

"Hey hey, looks like you guys are seriously going to kill me huh. But just so you know. No one can rule me. EVEN GODS!" Riel picked up the dagger in her pocket and threw it towards the black-clad soldier who was aiming his arrow towards Riel.

One soldier was knocked down because Riel's dagger stuck right in his head.

"Stop! Look at what our prince did. He killed his own people. Will a prince kill his people this instant?" Simon raised his hand up and the black-clad soldiers stopped the attack.

"Curtain, so here's the plan. Actually, he didn't want to kill me." Mumbled Riel.

"Let's take the dead body of our dead comrade at the hands of this prince of ours. And we bring it before the Queen. For him to know how rotten the son of the bastard King he was proud of." Simon and his army leave Riel and carry the corpse of his comrade.

They left a black scarf that belonged to the corpse. It turns out that the black hood is made of scarves that are worn from their necks to cover their heads. Riel picked up the scarf and put it on.

"In Sapphire, lives are paid for. If the Queen found out I killed the man earlier, she would have sentenced me to death even if I didn't agree. Damnit damnit! Simon is too cunning for a royal blacksmith."

At the Shappire royal palace, the Queen was enjoying her snacks peacefully. The vast room filled with jewelry was displayed throughout the walls of the room was only filled by a Queen because her son Princess Nevaehen had his own room.

A guard came before Queen Liveda breathlessly.

"Your highness. Simon the blacksmith wants to meet you. He carried the corpse of the resident whose condition" the guard had not finished speaking. But Queen Liveda had already moved from her seat.

"Send him to wait in the middle."

"All right, your majesty." The guard hurried out of the room.

"Civilian life? Community conflict? Or robbery? There are usually no unnaturally dead people." Mumbled The Queen.

--

In the palace's central room.

The spacious room that only has a 3-meter table and 10 chairs that surround it is filled with the figure of Simon who looks depressed.

Simon stood up from his seat and knelt down as the Queen entered the room.

"Get up and explain what happened." Queen Liveda sat on a special bench reserved for the King to conduct meetings with his ministers.

"Your highness. Forgive me for wanting to meet you. But this time the case really can't be allowed." Simon tried to explain in detail the events he had planned.

"Riel's? Just be right! How could he kill these innocent people?" The Queen stood up from her seat.

"Where is he now? Take him to the palace with his life. Curze must account for his son's behavior."

"Your command will be carried out by your majesty." Simon came out of the room carrying the body.

Silent. The Queen was just speechless thinking about what made Riel kill the residents.

--

In the woods where Riel is training.

"I must leave the kingdom now. I have to meet Aira. I have to keep my promise." Riel ran down the forest to the palace's secret exit.

"Ril! Stop that!" It was unexpected that the royal army could quickly catch up to Riel.

"Ah, you found me. I don't want to die yet." Riel stopped running and remained calm where she stood.

"Do you have any evidence that I killed that man?"

"How could a robber have a royal dagger. It was obvious that the dagger would only be owned by the royal family." The palace soldier pointed his spear at Riel's shoulder.

"Royal daggers? How could? I used the dagger I got from-"

Riel realizes that Simon changed the Dagger. Because Simon was one of the members of the royal family like him. Moreover, he was a blacksmith, definitely not a difficult thing to make such a dagger.

"Go back to the palace. The queen wants you alive." Riel did not have time to think of an escape plan because the palace soldiers already held her hand.

Riel was brought before his father and Queen Liveda.

His father looked at him as if he could not believe what his son was doing. While the Queen looked at him as the greatest disgrace for the work of Sapphire.

"Where's mom?" Riel asked her father.

"VERY DISGRACE THIS KINGDOM SPEAKS OUT LOUD IN FRONT OF THE LEADER." Queen Liveda's emotions broke instantly.

Curze orders the Queen to hold back her anger temporarily.

"Riel. What the fuck is your treatment? If the people of Sapphire know you're doing this, it could cause great destruction for all of us. You are a prince. You have a responsibility to-"

"WHO WANTS TO BE KING?" Riel cut off his father's speech.

"Who expects this position? I'm even more proud when you're just a warlord. I admire you who you used to be. Although we rarely can communicate, but I prefer it when we are still ordinary people. Wh why? Why did you choose this path? Why do I have to continue on your path? Why can't I decide my own path? Why dad?!" The clump of emotion that was holding Riel's heart poured out instantly. Curze fell silent and did not expect that his son was rejecting the results of what he had built all this time. His son whom he guided to be his successor would refuse aloud before him.

"Riel, you're embarrassing the name of Eraxoth in front of the Queen." Curze can't talk much.

"I don't even need that name anymore. I don't need a name tarnished by an illegitimate throne!"

"The death sentence for you will be carried out tomorrow, Riel." Queen Liveda was fed up with the conversation between the two of them.

"Not your highness. No one will punish me. EVEN GODS!"

Riel dodged when he would be detained again by the royal soldiers.

"Don't let Aib's kingdom live, and let this news not come down to society." The Queen no longer cared about Riel who kept trying to escape.

Aisle after hallway Riel managed to pass through without being caught by the dozens of soldiers who were chasing after him. Riel ran towards the balcony of the palace. He knew the bow and arrow were placed there by the soldiers who brought him back to the palace.

Then without any hesitation, Riel jumped from the balcony of the palace after taking his bow. He aimed at the soldiers while hovering in the air.

Shoot it!

Three arrows shot simultaneously from Riel's bow and hit the 3 soldiers who were chasing him.

Riel fell right on the soft garden grass. He got up and ran out of the palace. The soldiers who were chasing him retreated and took the main road from the front door of the palace.

--

Riel had reached the forest where she was about to escape.

"Nasi has become a porridge. There's no use in me staying in Sapphire anymore. I heard it would take me about 8 months to walk to the Kingdom of Datraoch. Well, I wrote my own destiny. I'm going to meet Aira in Datraoch. Wait for me Aira, I will keep our promise 8 years ago. Wait for me."

Riel finally made it out of Sapphire through the royal secret passage. With a bow and a few arrows, Riel embarks on an adventure to meet his childhood friend so he can keep his promise.
