Spirit (Part 2)

The sky was getting darker a sign that the day would soon change into a very long night. Riel and Seira had been walking around the ruins of Aramas for half an hour, but they still had not found Miki's necklace.

"Damn! The village is completely destroyed." Complain Riel.

"Well, but the necklace was very important to free Miki's soul into the afterlife." Reply Seira.

Riel does not understand why Seira needs Miki's favorite object to free her from the mortal world. They continued to trace the ruins, lifting up the debris of the building that could be lifted in search of a necklace fanged Lycan.

"Damn!" Seira looked at the twilight sky that was beginning to dim.

"What's wrong?" Ask Riel.

"Prepare to fight!" Seira put up a standby position.

"Eh?!"

The debris around them started moving. Little by little the bones lying on the ground fused together and formed a body, the Undead.

"Eh?! How could the bones reunite and form a lump of rotten meat that coated them? Are they the Undead Miki told me about?" Asked Riel who was still confused but was already in his fighting position.

"Right, they were the Undead Miki had told him about. Damn, only magic or holy objects can defeat them." Reply Seira.

"But why are they showing up now?" Ask Riel.

"They're only active at night. All right, question and answer session's closed." Seira jumped up and slashed at the neck of the Undead who had just risen before him.

Riel grabbed his greatsword and started fighting alongside Seira. Slash after slash was able to subvert some of the Undead they faced but their attacks were unable to kill the creature.

"Damn it, they're not inexhaustible!" Complain Riel.

The 5 Undead ran towards Seira, they tried to attack Seira from his blind spot. Riel who was holding back a horde of Undead in front of her saw the Undead trying to attack Seira.

"Shpejtsi!"

As fast as the wind, Riel left her enemy and darted towards the 5 Undead who were preparing to hit Seira's back.

"YESYAHHH!!!"

One slash of Riel split those 5 Undead at a time. Seira who realized that she was off guard all this time directly aimed her kick at the jaw of one of the Undead in front of her.

"Thank you." Seira.

Riel simply nodded and shot back towards the enemy he left behind just a moment ago. Suddenly a hand emerged from the ground and managed to grasp Riel's ankle making her fall down before the Undead.

Riel who lay in front of the Undead was now unable to escape, because around him had now gathered the Undead who were ready to attack him at any time. Lucky Riel because they were all unarmed, but their blows were really so tight that they were able to make Riel battered in an instant. Seira who was overwhelmed by her enemies could not just run away to help Riel.

"RIEL!"

"It's okay, Seira! I can face them alone. You better go find the necklace, we'll just be wasting our time just facing them like this." Reply Riel while groaning in pain.

"But-but..." Seira was unable to leave Riel just like that.

"I promise I won't trouble you anymore, Seira. Go!" Riel began to stand while enduring the pounding blows from the swarm of Undead around her.

Seira steeled her heart and ignored the Undead who were chasing after her.

"SHPETYES!" Riel took out her explosion magic and made the bodies of the swarm of Undead around her just disintegrate.

"Well, you must take responsibility for dirtying my new clothes!" Riel said as she brandished her greatsword towards the remaining Undead.

 

Meanwhile, Seira who managed to escape from the pursuit of the Undead has arrived at a tomb told by Miki. All the graves in the tomb were empty, there was not a single corpse or bones in it because all the bodies became Undead who were now fighting Riel.

"Where should I go find Miki's necklace?" Seira muttered with her breath gasping.

Seira glanced at a tomb that was larger than the other tombs, he walked up to the tomb and stumbled upon a soil heap beside the tomb. Instantly he remembered Miki's story of a library that was underground and began to dig the mountains under his feet until he finally found a door that was the way to the library.

"Is it possible to be in there?" Mumbled Seira.

Seira stepped out and started down one by one the stairs leading to the secret library down there. Unlike the story of Miki, the condition of the library is now very unkempt, a lot of cobwebs attached to the ceiling of the room, even the bookshelf has been damaged eaten by termites.

"It's so bad here." Seira complains that he started looking for Miki's necklace in the library.

His eyes were perfectly rounded when he saw a book with a white cover that overlapped with other books.

"Lucky me!" Seira.

There was only one more bookshelf that Seira had not checked, but it seemed like luck was on her side. He finds Miki's necklace lying side by side with the book Miki told him on a broken table.

"Bingo!"

 

In the ruins of Aramas, Riel was lying exhausted after defeating all the Undead who attacked him. They stopped recuperating and pieces of their bodies just sprawled on the ground.

"Finally." Riel was relieved.

However, the sense of legality simply disappeared as the surrounding pile returned to move. They reunite but instead become dozens of Undead like some time ago, but they unite into a monster bigger than the Minotaurus that Riel faced at the beginning of his adventure.

His body is very large and looks very rotten, his eyes are red and don't ask about the smell. The monster was actually a composite of dozens of Undead who had already lived for decades.

"You must be kidding." Riel gulped, shocked to see the enemy that was in front of her. He wasn't sure he could defeat such a powerful enemy with the rest of his strength right now.

"Connect with us!" Said the Monster with his overlapping voice as if spoken by dozens of people simultaneously.

"Ah, so you can talk now? I'm so sorry I have no intention of joining a pile of carcasses like you. Because I'm not gonna die here!" Riel stuck her sword on the ground and took out her bow.

"Currently, I don't have enough strength to fight close-quarters with the Monster." Riel murmured in the heart.

The monster released its first punch, Riel managed to dodge an attack that destroyed the ground in one attack. One, two, many times Riel's arrows hit the Monster but his attack had almost no effect on the rampaging Moster.

The poster ran towards Riel, launching a barrage of attacks that Riel could still avoid. Riel had not had time to put up his fighting position, a large rock hurtled at high speed towards him. This time he could not dodge, Riel tried to hold the stone and bounced away from where he stood.

"Dead! Die up! Die up! Die!" Said the Monster while running towards Riel.

"Shakullina!"

Before the Monster let out its final attack, a whirlwind appeared around the Monster and made it float through the air. Seira came at the right time, he immediately approached Riel who was lying low and immediately took her to safety.

"You all right, Riel? What kind of creature is that? Where are the Undead you fought? Did they turn into monsters?" Seira attacks Riel with questions that are so anxious.

"Don't worry, I'll beat him after this." Answer Riel.

"Actually I want to ask you to do something." Said Seira while recovering Riel with her magic.

"What's that?" Riel raised next to her eyebrows.

Seira explained her plan to Riel as briefly as possible so as not to take much time. Riel immediately understood and immediately stood up after his energy had been restored by Seira.

"All right, I'm leaving." Said Seira who immediately left Riel and ran towards the Monster who was still floating in the air due to the whirlwind of Seira.

"You really stink!" Ejek Seira while closing her nostrils, unable to bear the stench of the Monster before her.

"Deeya!" Seira jumps over the hovering Monster and pairs Miki's necklace around the Monster's neck. Unfortunately, before Seira managed to land the Monster's big hand, it hit Seira and made her bounce into the ruins beside them.

"RIEL!"

Riel who heard Seira's screams immediately came out from her hiding and began to open the white-coated book that Seira had brought from the secret library.

A moment ago.

"Zobute says we have to realize the last dream of the spirit we want to save, and at the same time we have to bring his favorite object to realize that dream." Seira.

"So what are you going to do?" Ask Riel.

"I've found Miki's necklace, good thing again I found a book containing holy magic. Only holy magic can kill the Undead, so I hope you can use it. Read line 9 on page 275, I'll give you the code and by then you'll have to cast the spell, okay?" Seira smiled confidently.

"Ta-but right-" Unfinished Riel spoke, Seira had already dashed towards the Monster.

Right now, Riel had finally found the spell Seira was referring to. He had little doubt whether he could use holy magic that even Riel had never heard from his mother's story before.

"Now, Riel!" Shouted Seira from behind the scattered debris of the house.

"This soul will return to nothingness, this body will unite in impermanence, fulfill the call of the Owner of Death, sink with your sin into endless regret!" An extremely dazzling magic circle began to revolve around the Monster's body right after Riel read what Seira had ordered.

"Drita and shenjte!" Riel cast the final spell that made the magic circle burn away the huge monster they were facing until it was left.

Riel and Seira were silent in their respective places, they did not expect to be able to successfully exterminate the Monster with a holy magic. Moreover, Riel who had just first read the spell could instantly use her magic without the slightest mistake.

"We did it, Seira." Riel smiled with satisfaction.

"You're so great, Riel." Seira returned Riel's smile.

Without wasting any more time, Riel and Seira immediately returned to where Miki was waiting for them. The girl waved from a distance and looked very worried about the two new friends.

"We're back, Miki. As promised, right?" Said Riel bragging.

"You guys" Miki was unable to hold back her cries and immediately hugged Riel and Seira together.

"Have, already. We've cleared up all the Undead that attacked your village." Said Seira while rubbing Miki's hair.

"Se-all?" Reply Miki sobbed.

Seira nodded then took out something from her pocket.

"And guess what I found" Seira pulled out a necklace with Miki's Lycan fangs.

"Father's gift jar!" Miki's cry became more and more so, he remembered all the memories with his father during his life.

Seira wore the necklace around Miki's neck. Miki who was crying so hard suddenly fell silent like she was thinking about something.

"Eh? What's up?" Tanya Seira was worried.

"I'm dead, right?" Miki asked back.

Riel and Seira were unable to answer the question, they fell silent.

"I remember everything, brother. That night it turned out that I also died with my family, but my soul was left behind in this mortal world because of my ambition to exterminate the Undead who attacked my village. Every day I keep hoping someone will come to help, but I can only hope until I finally meet you."

"You guys are really very nice people. Thank you, Brother Riel. Thank you, Brother Seira. Thank you, I-I am so grateful to be able to meet you guys even if only for a while. Even though I'm dead, I can meet people as good as you guys is truly an amazing gift. I-"

Miki's body began to fade from the tip of her foot, her dreams had already materialized, her memories had already been regained, her soul had calmed down and was preparing to go to the afterlife.

"No! I'm not leaving yet! Please!" Miki hugged Riel and Seira grew tighter.

Seira who was unable to say words began to shed tears, Riel just fell silent trying to stay strong to see this all.

"Looks like my time isn't much huh? Then again I thank you. I'm so happy to get to know Kak Riel and Kak Seira in this short time, I won't forget you guys, see you."

Miki's body was completely gone from the arms of the two of them, Seira's cry grew louder after her hand was no longer able to wipe Miki's hair in her arms. Riel hugged Seira, trying to calm her down from that very deep sadness.

"Until when? Until when do I have to keep losing people I know?" Ask Seira.

"I'm not leaving you." Reply Riel while rubbing Seira's hair.

"promise!" Seira.

"I promise I won't just die and leave you alone." Answer Riel.
