Fate Breakers

The clear sky accompanies the journey of Riel and Seira. Stop in Vandkilder turned out to provide advantages as well as losses for them. The advantage is the need for feed and some equipment that is important for their fight. The disadvantage is that their journey becomes a little hampered because each of them carries a backpack that is heavy enough to slow their movement.

"Hey, Seira. Is the Kingdom of Ere still far away? Honestly, I am tired of staying in small villages outside the kingdom. We only see forests, rivers, ravines and now a meadow this wide." Riel sighed while lying on the grass swaying in the wind.

"I told you we had to go through a few more villages to get to Ere. Besides, are you sure it's that easy to get into Eri? Didn't Shappire send his soldiers there?" Reply Seira.

"Shappire and Ere are hostile tau." Riel answered, starting to close her eyes.

"I remembered something." Said Seira while propping up her chin.

Riel just kept listening.

"You haven't told me the reason why you could kill someone. Does that have anything to do with the Shappire Kingdom chasing us?" Seira asked who was now sitting next to Riel.

"I'm the prince of the Shappire Kingdom." Riel answered briefly.

Seira laughed in disbelief.

"When His Holiness Legnasio died, he bequeathed his throne to my father. We are not from the royal family. But, because my father was a warlord and the right hand of the king, he was appointed directly by the King to continue his leadership. He occupied an illegitimate throne." Riel.

Seira was silent at Riel's explanation. He began to look carefully now.

"You know what's gonna happen next? Yes, the difference of opinion. There was a faction that disagreed with my father's elevation to the throne. They kept saying that my father should leave his illegitimate throne immediately. Until one night, when I was training alone. A group of black-robed people attacked me and they actually tried to kill me. I'm trying to protect myself. And at that moment I threw my dagger and it hit the head of one of the men from the group." Riel opened her eyes and saw Seira who was so serious about listening to her story.

"Then they stopped attacking me. They pitted me against the Queen. Moreover, they exchanged my dagger for a royal dagger that made me even more unable to dodge. They want to let me die at the hands of the kingdom, so they won't be punished for killing me." Riel.

"It's so cute." Seira finally commented.

"Very." Answer Riel grimly.

"I understand his condition now. You're right, we need to get to Ere soon. At least once we get to Ere, we don't have to be too wary of the Shappire warriors chasing us." Seira.

"The soldiers are after us. Hmm, it looks like I heard the sound of a horse carriage from a distance." Riel stuck her ear on the grass.

"And I saw them with 3 chariots leading here." Reply Seira.

"Just don't kill them, Riel." Seira looked at Riel with her sharp gaze.

"Why indeed? They just came to kill me." Riel Protest.

Seira did not answer Riel's question and just looked at her cynically.

"All right, all right." Riel resigned.

Seira smiled in satisfaction after hearing Riel's reply.

"THAT'S THEM!" Said a Shappire soldier who saw Riel and Seira with his binoculars.

"Come here." Whisper Riel while grasping his new sword which he got from Vandkilder.

"CATCH 'EM!" The Leader of the Soldiers.

"Force!" Riel slammed his great black sword into the ground. Aided by the power-boosting magic, the ground that Riel hit broke apart and made the wheels of one of the soldiers' horse-drawn carriages fall into it.

The soldiers managed to jump out of his carriage before they rolled over with his carriage.

"Wow! It turned out that using a two-handed sword like this was fun as well." Riel smiled broadly as she swung her greatsword.

"Now is not the time to be arrogant, my friend." Reply Seira who has prepared her magic.

"Shakullina, shtes!" Seira let out a whirlwind which she used to remove the poisonous fumes while fighting the Harpies. It was just that this time his whirlwind was bigger so it was able to ruffle a pair of horse carriages in front of him.

"All right! Now we can fight quietly without a horse carriage." Riel stretched her body. Then he quickly shot towards the line of soldiers who were already preparing to attack him.

Trang!

Riel struck the 5 Soldiers at once with a blunt part of her sword. The five Soldiers bounced far enough away from Riel's attack.

"That's not gonna kill them, is it, Seira?" Asked Riel who did not expect his attack would be that strong.

"Of course." Reply to Seira while preparing the next magic attack.

"Spread!" Order the Warrior Leader.

The remaining 10 soldiers divided the group into two parts. Five against Riel, and five against Seira.

"I can take care of them in 5 seconds." Said Seira bragging.

"Then, I'll finish this in 3 seconds." Riel won't lose.

"YYYYYYYAHH!!" The soldiers shouted in unison.

"Guri Mur!" Seira cast a spell. Then a stone wall appeared before the Soldiers.

"1." Seira.

"2." There appeared another wall behind the Soldiers.

"3..4.5." Each count of Seira raises a wall that has now locked five Shappire Warriors in it.

"I'm done." Seira said proudly.

However, that pride disappeared instantly as he looked at Riel who had already fought with that Warrior Leader.

"She's really fast." Complain Seira.

Meanwhile, Riel was engrossed in sharpening his sword skills with the Warrior Leader he was fighting against. Sparks of fire kept coming out accompanied by the clinking sound of the two swords clashing against each other.

"When you're strong enough, but why did you use your men to attack first? You wimps!" Ejek Riel's.

"If I intervened from the beginning, you would definitely not enjoy this fight. Because I'll beat you soon!" The Warrior Leader slashed his sword vertically. He almost split Riel in two.

Unexpectedly, a small scratch from Riel's sword was able to split the iron helmet that covered his opponent's face.

Riel was surprised when the helmet fell to the ground and showed the figure of a beautiful girl inside. Her golden-blonde hair looked graceful in the wind.

"You're a woman?!" Said Riel while slightly stepping back.

The girl re-installed her fighting position regardless of the confused Riel.

"Tu-tu-wait! Seira, I don't want to hit a girl." Said Riel while ignoring the beautiful girl who was ready to attack her at any time. He put his great sword on the ground.

"Ah, troublesome." Seira complained while approaching the Soldier Girl.

Seira looked at the girl with her flat expression. While the girl trembled to see two people who could defeat 15 soldiers in that short time.

Seira showed the pointed ears covered in the maroon scarf to the Soldier Girl.

"Elf?!" The girl's eyes were perfectly rounded before she finally fell unconscious to her surprise.

"Okay now let's tie them up." Said Seira casually while taking out a rope from her backpack. Then tie all those soldiers to a big rock.

"You're really excited, Seira." Riel chuckled amusedly at the sight of Seira who was engrossed in tying up the fainted Soldiers.

"Yep! Huhh, it's finally over." Seira looked at the results of her work with pride.

"You two are so great!" The sound of a child coming from the other rocks.

"Who's there?!" Riel asked as she held her great sword that stuck on the ground.

"Eh... I'm not. I'm not your enemy. I just wanted to ask for help." An 8-year-old boy emerges from hiding.

"Spirit?!" Seira was surprised.

"Eh?! Where?!" The girl immediately ran over to Seira.

"You-you"

Seira shut Riel's mouth, trying to make her not continue her words. Riel who did not understand Seira's intention just nodded according and paused her words.

"You'd better introduce yourself first before asking others for help." Seira.

"I'm sorry. My name is Miki." The girl with her transparent body lowered her head feeling guilty.

"I'm Seira. This stupid guy next to me is Riel." Reply to Seira with a warm smile.

Riel looked at Seira cynically. But his curiosity made him not to become annoyed with Seira.

"So what can you help?" Ask Seira.

"Every night my village was attacked by the Undead Army. They're so creepy. They attacked residents, burned houses, kidnapped children and killed people. They're all so evil. Please save my village." Miki was crying in Seira's arms.

"What's the name of your village, Miki?" Ask Seira again.

"Arama." Miki replied briefly but made Riel a little surprised.

Riel had heard stories about the village before. A small village outside the kingdom that was slaughtered by the Undead Army. In the story he heard, no one survived the massacre.

"Do you know why the Undead attacked your village?" This time Riel asked.

"It's my fault I shouldn't have read the book in the basement at the funeral. Yesterday afternoon, my friends and I were playing hide-and-seek. I hid in the cemetery because I was the only one who dared to go there." Miki wiped her tears.

"The room is under a tomb that looks very old. I went inside and found a secret library down there. The bookshelf is neatly arranged as if someone lives there. I looked around the library and saw one very striking book. The book was purple in color and gave off a kind of strange aura."

Seira and Riel really listen to Miki's story. They didn't cut it one bit.

"I approached the bookshelf located at the end of the library and picked up the book that really caught my attention. It's Conjure. I read through the pages one by one until I found a torn page. Out of curiosity, I searched the lost page throughout the library. I managed to find the missing page. However, a strange accident began to occur in that library." Miki paused for a moment making sure Riel and Seira were listening.

"A moment after I connected the torn page, a purple glowing circle emerged from the book. I was amazed to see it, how can a book produce bright light just by connecting one missing sheet? Thought. Then I read the missing page. I don't know what I've read, but right after I finished reading the missing page, the glowing circle grew and continued to grow. This time I panicked to see it. I got out of the library and it was already very dark." Miki sighed before she continued her story.

"The circle of light extends to illuminate the entire cemetery. I immediately ran to the village and saw the citizens who were looking for me from a distance. I hugged my mother when I got to the village. Then tell him what happened at the funeral. A person known as the Witch of Hell heard my story and requested that the entire population immediately leave the village."

"wait. That Hell Witch you're talking about, what's her name?" This time Riel cut Miki's story.

"Vida. Name's Vida. He had come to our village a few days earlier. He's carrying magical items that I've never seen before." Answer Miki.

"It's true." Riel seemed to be thinking about something.

"Then what did the people of Aramas do after that?" This time Seira asked.

"They don't want to believe the witch's words. They thought Vida wanted to loot their houses when they left the village. So all the villagers went back to their homes and left Vida alone. 'I warned you. Whatever you want. If anything happens, you better deal with it yourself.' Said Vida who then disappeared after her body let out a yellow light."

"Not long after Vida left, there was a very loud roar from the direction of the cemetery. Then, the swarm of Undead simply appeared from behind the thick fog and directly attacked the houses of the residents. I was separated from my parents and I don't remember anything happy afterwards. I woke up when I heard the sound of your fight earlier and hoped you would help me." Miki looked at Riel and Seira expectantly.

"We'll definitely help you." Reply Riel with a big smile.

"I thought you guys were good people" Miki fainted on Seira's lap. Now Riel had the opportunity to ask what he meant about the Spirit.

"Actually this boy is dead. It was just that his spirit was still trapped in the mortal world. Perhaps he was recorded as a Necromancer so the afterlife was unwilling to accept his soul. All we have to do is let him know that he's dead and then purify his spirit so that he can be accepted in nature." Seira explained the situation to Riel.

"Even though he accidentally resurrected those corpses he was already considered a Necromancer?" Riel did not believe it.

"Well, are you going to help her?" Reply Seira.

"Seeing it made me remember my sister at home. So I'll help him until his spirit can calm down in the afterlife." Answer Riel.

"That's how it should be, my partner." Seira smiled satisfied to hear Riel's reply.
