50 - Loss

Daniel leaned against a chair in the hospital's IGD waiting room.

The doctors and nurses who took care of his wife had spent quite a long time there and it made Daniel even more worried and very sad.

"Yes, Lord.please help my wife and children. I don't want to lose them." he whispered in his heart as he continued to pray that the medics could help both of them.

A few minutes later, Kimberly runs towards Daniel.

"Sir Daniel...How are my best friend and her baby?" Kimberly asked Daniel in a panicked tone and tears began to fall on his cheeks.

Daniel was still silent while shaking his head. He squeezed his hair and breathed deeply.

Kimberly sat down next to Daniel. He knew that his boss was in an emergency.

Suddenly the door of the room where Calista was being treated opened, and a nurse came out to find Daniel who had been standing with an ungodly face.

"Sir Daniel, please come in" said the nurse.

Daniel went straight in to get his wife who was still sleeping with her face very pale.

A doctor approached Daniel. "The collisions your wife is going through are pretty loud, too much blood is coming out. Sorry, we couldn't save the baby. Your wife has miscarried. But his condition is stable now. How do you help her recover mentally later. For a while your wife is hospitalized first up to two days ahead. It's still very weak. In a few minutes we'll move your wife to the treatment room." After saying that, the medical crew left Daniel and his wife.

Hearing that Daniel was unable to speak anymore. She felt devastated to lose her first child before she was born.

Daniel looked at the pale face and kissed his wife's hand repeatedly while holding back the tears of loss that made his eyes red.

I don't know how long he was there, until he fell asleep. Daniel awakens when a nurse wakes him up because his wife is about to be moved into the room.

Kimberly stared at her best friend's face as she gently stroked Calista's head, which had not yet opened her eyes.

Then he got up and sat down on the sofa. Kimberly wanted to give more space for her Boss who had not wanted to move from next to his wife.

Without Daniel noticing Calista's eyes started moving and opened slowly. He was trying to find his consciousness. All the colors around him were only white and light blue which he clearly did not recognize.

Daniel became aware of it and immediately stroked his wife's cheek.

"Darling...are you conscious?" said Daniel softly.

Calista looked at her husband's face in confusion. A moment later, he realized that he was in the hospital. Calista tries to recall the incident that knocked him unconscious. Suddenly his eyes grew bigger as he recalled the last thing he saw before fainting. The blood! There was blood coming out melting at his feet!

Calista looked at her husband as she held his stomach and squeezed him.

"Danny....What happened to me? What about our son? Is she okay?" calista screamed with a frightened face and a trembling voice.

Daniel bowed for a moment then looked at his wife's face with a face full of sadness.

"Darling, our child cannot be saved. Ii'm sorry. You miscarried." replied Daniel in a weak voice.

Calista cried in her husband's arms. Seeing that, Kimberly also cried, She also felt very lost as two people felt before her.

Daniel continued to comfort and encourage his wife.

"Darling.." whispered Daniel. "Don't be sad, we can still make a lot of children. As much as you want."

Calista just nodded slowly trying to strengthen herself. Anyhow that loss will never come back.

In that grief, Daniel continued to hold his wife. He didn't even care to sleep in the bed where his wife was lying. Calista felt more comfortable in her husband's arms.

Daniel only wants his wife to be strong again to live her days as she was ready.
