28 - Conflict

A month passed since his wife's departure back to his home country, Daniel was completely immersed in his work. Sometimes he had to go home late because he had to and had no choice.

What a difficult time like this, he craved the presence of his wife to give him extra strength.

"Calista.I really miss you." Daniel whispered to him. He took a heavy breath and then exhaled it quickly.

Daniel is really lonely. Even if he needs a friend to talk to, he will only call Billy for fitness or swimming together while chatting. Billy was also rarely able to accompany him. His best friend is still a little disappointed since he found out Daniel married the woman he was after. He is even more disappointed when Daniel does not invite him to his wedding with Calista.

But their friendship did not become tenuous just because of women's problems. What makes Billy a bit rare out with Daniel is because he is in love with a Caucasian woman of Finnish descent. Billy was really intoxicated this time so he spent more time on the bule. Daniel knows that too. He does not want to disturb his best friend just because of his ego.

Daniel again concentrated on the papers before him. He continued to read and read while occasionally matching what was listed there with electronic reports from his independent auditors on a computer screen. He nodded his slightly throbbing head. There's an awkwardness that's still vague there. But he still hasn't found his bright spot.

Daniel continues to search and match report after report with existing audit results.

Suddenly a knock was heard and Albert came in holding a tablet in his hand. "Sorry sir, these are the data you asked about the Way of Life company.

Daniel received the tablet from his hand and began to read while occasionally sliding the screen in front of him.

"What the fuck? Since when do we risk our assets as collateral?" Daniel was half screaming. Albert, who was standing at his desk, was almost thrown out of his place. He was afraid to speak.

"Albert, please get manager Rusli here. Soon!!" daniel's orders.

Albert nodded without speaking. He also hurried out of the room.

"So..can you arrange my meeting with the investigator? I'll send him to Singapore to find the data I need." Daniel's voice held back his emotions.

"Don't worry sir. I'll take care of the meeting as soon as possible" Rusli said.

"soon maybe? I want it today, one night after work." Daniel's voice went up.

"But Mr. Daniel, I have to ask for confirmation first" said manager Rusli stammered.

"Yes already! Wait what else. You call him now! Tell him please write down the amount he wants! We don't have time anymore..."

"All right, sir." Minister Rusli immediately pulled out his hape from the bag of pants and a minute later a voice was heard across.

Daniel watched Rusli's manager talking on the phone with his sharp gaze.

Moments later, Rusli paused, telling people across to hold their conversation.

"Sir, Daniel, two hundred and fifty million plus accommodation facilities while in Singapore. Hows it?

"Agreed!" daniel answered briefly.

Rusli's manager spoke again on the phone and then ended their remarks.

"Sir Daniel, Starfish Pub at 10 tonight. Men in blue-white checkered shirts and white hats read 'Las Vegas'.

Daniel nodded. After that, manager Rusli walked out of the room.
