17 - The Toughest Calista

Daniel sips a cold soda that Calista serves in his apartment. Getting a visit from her lover at work hours is a rare opportunity.

Calista smiled with a face full of question marks. What is it that makes this handsome figure to sacrifice his working hours just for himself.

"OK, honey. May I know what you mean at rush hour like this?" calista said while looking at the large clock attached to one of the walls of his apartment. Time is 10:15.

Daniel brought his face closer to Calista's so that their noses touched.

"Besides I miss you, I have some good news for you." Daniel kisses Calista's lips at a glance.

"Say. I'm really excited." Calista blinked his eyes.

"Last night I was honest about our relationship before my parents, Lizbeth's parents and of course Lizbeth herself. I've cancelled my engagement to Lizbeth." Daniel said excitedly.

"So now we no longer need to hide. I love you and will be like that forever."

Calista was moved to be happy to hear that from Daniel's mouth. Eyes glazed.

"You did everything for me?"

Daniel nodded steadily. "I don't want them to get hurt more. Although painful at least I've been honest about the reason I canceled the engagement.

The first reason, because I never wanted an engagement without love. The second reason, because I've made my choice is you, honey. I deserve to be happy, right?"

Daniel rubbed Calista's slightly moist eyes from the tears of novelty.

"Calista, marry me before you return to Taiwan."

Calista was surprised until her mouth was slightly open. He can't speak anymore.

"I know this might seem rushed. We don't know each other very well yet. But. I won't be able to let you go without an official bond. I. I. I. would not be able if.." Daniel's words stopped for a moment because Calista had silenced her mouth with her lips.

Daniel kisses Calista gently.

Daniel and Calista were stunned to learn that Kimberly was standing before them with her hands closed and eyes widened.

"Mr Daniel?" Pekik Kimberly couldn't believe it.

Daniel and Calista looked misbehaved, they were at a loss for words.

A minute later Daniel got up from the couch.

"I'll excuse you" Daniel said, then disappeared behind the door.

Calista looked at the bewildered Kimberly.

"Don't tell me that you've won Mr. Daniel's heart, Cal." Kimberly said.

Calista just looked down. He then looked at Kimberly with a chicken thief-like appearance who was being interrogated by the police.

"Come, tell me. Are you guys dating?" Kimberly further angled Calista.

"Are you in love with each other?"

"Hahaha.it turns out to be true my guess that your charm must be able to melt Big Boss."

Calista took a deep breath. "Everything you ask is true. I. I. ah already. Why did you come here at work?" Calista's backstabbing diverted the conversation.

"My important document was forgetfulness here last night because of the fun of watching Drakor."

Kimberly walked over to the dining table and picked up the map that was still lying there. As he was about to walk away, he turned his back, looked at Calista and said, "Remember, you still owe me a story. I want to hear the details." After saying that, Kimberly disappeared behind the door.

Calista. Take a deep breath and throw it out violently.

"Married?" Then he smiled while covering his face with both palms.
