CONFINEMENT
CH 64 - ENGAGEMENT PART VIII

While that afternoon at the residence of Mr. Timoti in the city of Negeri Pantai, the atmosphere of busyness was clearly visible in the magnificent house, the,  the servants of Mr. Timoti deftly prepared everything to entertain the invitations who would be present in the afternoon. Chairs and tables were cleaned while the maids prepared dishes that would be served to the guests of the governor.

Inside the master governor's office, there were tense faces of the people inside. The governor fell silent as Mr. Bendowo loudly reprimanded the pink-hooded girl in front of him.

"Die! turns out your stubbornness never changed even though it's been one dasa warsa papi and mami never see you."

"What are the advantages of that young man that you dare to reject the idea of your father for your matchmaking with Seto the son of Adhimas Haryo and Ni Mas Dewi."

"Let's explain it to us." hardik Bendwo told Sariwati. The old man's face was bright red with a sharp eye facing towards Sariwati.

It has been a week Bendowo and Warika came to the Beach Country after getting news from Mr. Timoti about the existence of Sariwati in the country. One dasa warsa middle-aged man did not meet his daughter after the embarrassing incident committed by Setyanto involving Sariwati so that the punishment of exile with a sad condition received the girl. The man said back,

"What your father Timoti planned is right, your match with Seto will strengthen the family relationship of the Harsuto dynasty. You need to know, Haryo is the sole heir of the ruler of the Land of Tidar and his position in the kingdom of Emerald is currently very calculated, seto is the only son of Haryo and Dewi who will one day inherit everything his parents have."

"Do you not want the glory and durability of your ancestral power to be stronger with the marriage of the two of you?"

"While the young man of the village what are his advantages and from whose blood are he from?"

"What is clear is that papi will not approve if you continue to insist on choosing the young man as your husband and papi will do anything to separate you." concluded Bendowo fiery.

Sariwati only sobbed with a devastated feeling at the rejection of her extended family against Muhibbin.

"I love her so much, Pi!" exclaimed Sariwati softly, her father's face was bent deeply with a sobbing state.

Bendowo who heard the rebuttal from his daughter was getting up, the middle-aged man could not cover up the anger that was emanating on his face. Seeing the giraffe, Madam Warika began to speak up.

"Dead, it's for your own good, son."

"What papi and your father Timoti say is for your future" said the middle-aged woman.

"No parent wants to plunge his child, let alone this about who will be your life partner."

"Mami also agreed to the idea of your arranged marriage with Seto, although your father did not join in raising you but this time mami and papi agreed with him." added mrs Warika back.

"Listen to your papi and mami's advice, Wati."

"What we're doing is for your own good."

"Dad knows, the young man helped you a lot during this time. When you're in exile or you've lived with him in a manau, don't make your logic go wrong."

"It's only natural that he's interested in you, because of this beautiful you and moreover he already knows that you're descended from blue blood and people are." now Mr. Timoti chimed in on Sariwati's advice.

"If you live with it, the suffering and the shortcomings you will experience. Family life isn't enough with just love, Wati!"

"The material is very necessary, With our property will be respected by people, especially plus the status of honor will make people submit to us and it's all in Seto."

"you have to be realistic, Wati." concluded the governor.

Sariwati was getting immersed in her crying, Everyone in front of her cornered and disapproved of her relationship with her lover.

"Then what is the purpose of father, papi and mami to invite Muhibbin and family to come here, if our relationship is not blessed?" exclaim Sariwati sobbing.

Bendowo answered his son's question.

"The fire will tell him to stay away from you and will give him a treasure in lieu of his help to you all this time, however he does not want to owe the poor young man a debt of gratitude" Bendowo said cynically.

"It's all useless in front of Muhibbin, Pi! he is not a man who glares at the sheen of the world. I know her very nature." said Sariwati interjected Bendowo's words.

"We'll see later, will the hundred million Ru not shake his firmness?"

"If it is still less, papi will add more" he concluded jumawa.

The atmosphere in Mr. Timoti's work room was silent, suddenly from outside the room the door was knocked. A servant entered the room after Timoti invited him.

"What's the waiter?" ask the governor.

The servant cupped his hands and bowed before the people in front of him.

"Mr Haryo's entourage has arrived, sir."

"Alright, tell mister Haryo! I'll see him soon."

"Now you can go and please prepare a banquet for our guests." cried Mr. Timoti.

The waiter left the governor's office, a happy face was seen on Timoti's face, Bendowo and Warika heard the arrival of Mr. Haryo. While Sariwati is still immersed in her inner upheaval.

"Go to your room, preen as beautifully as possible and follow us to meet Haryo in the guest room!" bendowo exclaimed at his daughter.

"Mi, Tim, let's go meet Adhimas Haryo."

"Don't let them wait too long" Bendowo said.

The man came out of Mr. Timoti's study followed by Mrs Warika and the governor.

Shortly after, Sariwati came out of the room to her room.

The atmosphere in the living room boisterous increasingly felt, laughter interspersed the conversation between the descendants of the Harsuto dynasty.

"Har, how are you?  long time no see, yeah!" mr. Bendowo said to Mr. Haryo.

"Our news is good, Kang Mas."

"Yes, it is true that we have not met since the funeral of the late Mulya Harsuto" Haryo told Mr. Bendowo.

"Yes, I myself have been busy with my business activities since resigning from the Darmayudha unit."

"You were still serving as Bhayangkara's army, if I don't remember it wrong" Bendowo told Haryo.

"Flat, Kang Mas."

"Just like Kang Mas Bendowo, I resigned from the Bhayangkara unit because I was too busy taking care of the business of Probo's late father."

"Yes Kang Mas knows for himself, I am only the only child in our family." replied Mr. Haryo to this distant brother.

Haryo's father, Lord Probo, was the younger brother of the late king Harsuto, and when the Emerald kingdom was ruled by the late King Harsuto, all the family members of the Garuda Gold dynasty founded by Harsuto enjoy the sweetness of power and wealth that is mostly obtained by relying on the great name of king Harsuto. The fall of the power of king Harsuto and the decline of the prestige of the Garuda Gold dynasty one of the causes is the greed and arbitrariness of his family members against the people of the colony of the Emerald kingdom so that there was a period of popular upheaval and resistance in the the tyranny of the Garuda Gold dynasty that finally made the king of Harsuto Lengser Keprabon, the people did not want him again to lead the Emerald kingdom but the grip of the influence and greatness of the name Garuda Gold dynasty still felt and difficult to grow.

The conversation of the descendants of the king of Harsuto was getting warmer, Bendowo suddenly interrupted.

"Har, I heard from Timoti that your presence this afternoon is not just a family reunion, right?"

"Is there anything else you want to tell us?" said Mr. Bendowo.

Mr. Haryo sighed for a moment before continuing his words."

"Betul Kang Mas, this is about our son."

Maybe Timoti has told Kang Mas and Mbak yu Warika all about our intentions" said Mr. Haryo.

The warm atmosphere full of laughter turned into silence and serious, Mr. Bendowo said again.

"Yes, Timoti has told me and my wife everything."

"Before I answer and I grant that intention, we wait for our other guests so that this engagement can be carried out without hindrance" Bendowo replied to Mr. Haryo.

Mr. Haryo frowned yet to understand the direction of Mr. Bendowo's conversation, let alone the words 'No Obstacle' made him wonder, who would dare to deal with the Garuda Gold dynasty family and look for trouble? but not long after a horse-drawn carriage entered the courtyard of the master Timoti's residence.

"The thing we've been waiting for has arrived" Bendowo said.

Seen in the courtyard several people descended from the newly arrived horse carriage.
