CH 59 - ENGAGEMENT PART III

Elsewhere in the western part of the coastal State, the increasingly temaran night enveloped Banjar Gelumpang which since late afternoon in the rain made the atmosphere of the hamlet cooler.

In a room of the hall of the old Balian house there was a sound of people coughing while occasionally heard the conversation of the people in it.

"Sir, how are things going now, is it better?" tanya Light to Suratmi who was lying in the bamboo hall while spitting the old woman's legs, next to her the Holy Kingdom had started to fall asleep.

"I'm better, Nduk."

"i want to get to your sister's place and meet her future wife."

"Tomorrow morning we leave, yes!"

"Emak is embarrassed if it takes too long here and bothers Mr. Balian." Suratmi told her daughter.

Muhibbin was silent at the conversation of his brother and mother. The young man lay on the floor with a mat, his eyes glaring at the ceiling of the room of the old Balian house.

"Le, what do you think?"

"Are we leaving tomorrow morning with this kind of condition?" light said to his sister.

The man sighed, he got up from where he lay and sat cross-legged while his sister and mother were still on the bamboo bed.

"We'll just wait for the development, Ms. Yu."

"If Mr. Balian has stated that his health has improved, tomorrow we will go to Manguntur again" said Muhibbin.

The light gave a small hug listening to the words of his youngest sister.

"If there had not been an attack by a mob of unknown people who wanted your Sulaiman Honey ring, maybe mother's condition was not like this" she added.

"Yes, Ma'am Yu." Muhibbin replied briefly, there was a sense of indignation that he was detained seeing the treatment of unknown people to his family.

"Who exactly are they and what purpose do they want by seizing the ring of Solomon Honey."

"Civilized!" he murmured in his heart, in his roar a torn cloth with the head of a garuda knitted with red thread from behind his clothes, his eyes were sharp full of anger by occasionally squeezing a tear of the cloth.

"Mbak yu, do you still remember the faces of the perpetrators and what they looked like?" muhibbin asked his brother.

The light that was still pinching Suratmi's feet said,

"I still remember it very much, Bin"

"His head has a thick sideburn and on his left temple there is a scar extending to his cheek and one of those who had done indecent by fumbling my body called him 'Bejo'." the girl replied no less.

"The man named Bejo who hit his mother's face until she slammed and fainted."

"It was fortunate that Mbah kyai Basori and the residents immediately came to our aid at that time and a man named Bejo was made to vomit blood by Mbah kyai in the fight" added Cahaya.

"You should now be more careful, Bin!"

"Take good care of Sulaiman Honey's ring, I'm sure those people will still hunt him down because they originally offered a very high price for our great family's legacy ring and it's likely that the person who told them to was an influential person like that said by Mbah kyai." concluded Light while repairing the rags that enveloped the bodies of his mother's old Suratmi.

Muhibbin simply nodded at his sister's advice. Suddenly the door of the room where they spent the night on tap from outside.

"Son Ma'am!"

"Son, is she asleep?'" an old Balian voice sounded behind the door.

"Not yet sir." replied Muhibbin from the room and the young man rose from his seat opening the door for old Balian.

"Where is your mother, son Mas? exclaiming old Balian as he stepped into the room followed by Ketut Setyowati behind him, the girl was seen carrying a tray containing medicinal herbs stored on the small bokors he carried.

"Let me check on your mother!" the old Balian shouted inching closer to the lying Suratmi, his old hand touching Suratmi's forehead and no matter how long it moved on the wrist of the woman lying in front of him. His face looked bright with a sullen smile.

"Instead of Sang Hyang Widhi, your mother's condition has been very good, Nak Mas."

"Just stay tight and cough it up, I'll give you a potion to apply to your mother's body."

"Let Setyowati lie down, Nak Mas." added the old Balian.

Seemed Setyowati assisted by the Light to carve the potion in the small bokor-bokor that he had brought on Suratmi's body, while Muhibbin and old Balian stepped out towards the dangin hall, and, the two were conversing at the dangin hall while waiting for Setyowati to finish her task at Suratmi.

"Sir Mas, may I ask something to Nak Mas? the old man told Muhibbin.

"What does it mean, sir? if I can and can answer it, I will answer." Muhibbin said to the old man in front of him.

"I apologize before, if my question offends Nak Mas Ibbin later!" old Balian said back.

Muhibbin who felt there was a change from the old Balian said sighed nafa and said,

"It's okay, sir."

"Master need not be condoned." continued the young man politely.

Before continuing his words, old Balian was seen folding betel leaves that he smeared with chalk and small pieces of gambier then chewed it, and then chewed it,

"I see a cloud of cloud cover over you, Son Mas."

"Do you have enemies or do people not like you?" the old Balian asked Muhibbin.

With a furious feeling considering the events that befell his mother and brother, Muhibbin also answered the question of old Balian.

"I never really felt troubled or hurt anyone else, sir."

"But a few months ago, my family suffered a disaster and was attacked by unknown people that made my mother sick" Muhibbin said.

"Wait a minute, what do you mean about the blindness your mother, Nak Mas, is going through?" old Balian asked back.

"Not sir, when it comes to my mother's vision she has experienced for a long time."

"But this is about the bruises on my head and the shortness of breath my mother experienced as a result of the blows of unknown people who satronized our house at that time" Muhibbin replied.

The young man recounted what his family had experienced before his return to the Land of the Snake Stone and about unknown people who were men of influence. Old Balian was just mangosteen and carefully heard the story of the young man before him.

"May I see the tearing of garuda and the ring Nak Mas is referring to?" ask the old Balian.

Muhibbin took out two objects that had been told to the old man who was in front of him from behind his clothes. The old balian gasped to see the two objects shown by Muhibbin.

"Sir Mas must be careful with the owner of this garuda head image!"

"And this ring! this thing needs to be taken care of, don't fall into the wrong hands."

"This thing will bring good to the holy heart and will bring disaster when it falls into the hands of the dead." said the old Balian after seeing the two objects that Muhibbin showed him, he returned the object to the young man in front of him.

Muhibbin was still astonished by the reaction of the old Balian after seeing the two objects, the young man then asked, asking,

"Do you know who owns this picture of the head of the garuda, and what about this ring of my family legacy? it seems that you have the knowledge to explain these two things." asked Muhibbin.

The old Balian looked agitated and in his breath deep until it was clearly heard in Muhibbin's ear.

"The logo of the head of the Garuda was a symbol of a dynasty that was very feared and respected in its time"

"The dynasty was so successful that no one dared to resist and wanted to get into trouble with the dynasty's extended family" said old Balian, Muhibbin grew curious about the old man's story before him.

"Her partner is very familiar with the owner of this Garuda head logo?" muhibbin's eyes stared intently at the man in front of him, there was a sense of curiosity emanating on the young man's face.

Old Balian explained the background of the owner of the Garuda head logo, including the lunge of the dynasty that had never touched the law. He told how the beginning of the dynasty known as the Garuda Gold dynasty and the late king Harsuto as its founder, known as, do not forget how the lunge of the children of king Harsuto who arbitrarily to the common people to how the fall and fall of the omnipresent king of the Emerald kingdom.

"I am one of the former bodyguards of the king of Harsuto, Nak Mas."

"Before I returned and served as a healer in my hamlet, I was one of the confidants of the late king."

"And since that fateful event happened, I decided to get out of the circle of unity where I used to serve the golden garuda family."

With full of emotion old Balian told his life story to Muhibbin. The mother of Ketut Setyowati was the flower of the village of Gelumpang hamlet, at that time many young men who wanted the daughter of the old Balian to be his companion, as a companion, including one of them was the son of king Harsuto who was then a disciple of old Balian and with him lived in the Land of the Coast.

Bendowo was the favorite son of king Harsuto and became a disciple of the old Balian, until one day the old Balian's daughter was pregnant due to the actions of Bendowo and the golden boy did not want to be responsible for all his actions. Knowing that old Balian held Bendowo accountable but not the honor he received but vile slander and accusations as a rebel pinned on old Balian and his family members by Bendowo so as to make the late king Harsuto was furious and deployed his special forces to subdue the old Balian.

For years old Balian and his entire family lived on the run until returning to his native land after the fall of the golden Garuda dynasty and the death of king Harsuto. While on the run was born Setyowati his granddaughter, but fateful mother setyowati was not saved after giving birth to the grandchild due to severe bleeding. Seen the face of old Balian moping after telling his life story to Muhibbin, clear twinkles dripped between his wrinkled eyelids.

Muhibbin was only glued without a word thrown from his lips, there was a sense of compassion in his inner grille to hear the dark story of the old Balian family, he said, at the sight of the face of the old dusk balian full of charisma stunned in front of him, both were immersed in their respective minds before being bought by Ketut Setyowati greeting.

"His band Wayah and Bli Muhibbin are here" the girl said to the two men in front of her.

"I've finished drilling Bli Muhibbin's mother's body, Dad.'

"He is now asleep again" he added.

"Good, Ning! I hope the potion can reduce the pain of Nak Mas Muhibbin's mother." replied the old Balian.

"It's best to take a break! late at night, if it does not miss my estimate, tomorrow the condition of Nak Mas's mother will recover." concluded old Balian on Muhibbin.

"Ning, you also have to rest" the old man exclaimed to his granddaughter. Setyowati nodded her head and passed from before her.

"Sir Mas, please rest first, I hope Nak Mas remembers my message earlier about the two objects."

"What Nak Mas is dealing with is not just anyone, be careful" the old man told Muhibbin.

"Thank you for your advice, I will always remember that kindness as my debt to you, Muhibbin replied respectfully.
