In the morning, I opened my eyes to see the sunlight that began to come out from between the windows.
I glanced at the clock beside my bed. Hours 10.00. Last night I had a hard time sleeping, thinking about Rey and Althara. They made me an insomnia.
I lazily got out of my bed wearing blue-furred house slippers and gold stars. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. Then I went out of the room and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. I opened the fridge and took a cereal and I put it on the dinner table. I'll take some water for me to wet my throat. It's so dark in there because all the curtains I haven't opened yet.
With the water still in my hand I approached the windows and doors to open the curtains that covered the light. I slide the high curtains behind the glass door so that light can enter the room, but as soon as the shock I see someone already standing behind the door.
Altharas. He stood firmly behind the glass door with a neat dress wrapped in a jacket that was not in his zipper. He looked at me coldly behind the glass door.
I opened the lock and shifted the door.
“What are you doing here?” I asked with a frown, because she could surprise me in the morning like this when I could momentarily forget her, but she couldn't seem to allow me to forget her in the least.
“I told you I'd be here”
I shook my head because he was so stubborn.
“Althara I.”
“You only have 30 minutes to change clothes before Rey came here”
Of course I don't directly believe his words. I ran to my room and found my phone. Sure enough Rey tried to contact me a few times this morning but I didn't hear the phone call coming in.
I ran back to the front of the house.
“Terus you why here if you know Rey want to come?!”
“You just choose, we go now or we both wait Rey here”
I shook my head so annoyed with his attitude that never changed. I clucked in annoyance and finally gave up on his choice to leave here.
I can't risk getting caught by Rey so soon. I wasn't ready for that.
I quickly changed my clothes, and put on my shoes. I tidied my hair in front of the glass and immediately grabbed the bag, I ran out of the house and locked it. I turned around and found Althara was already seen standing still on his motor sport.
I think back to the time when he always picked me up with his big motorbike, even though now the bike is much different, but the atmosphere still feels the same. I threw away that thought and immediately approached her. Althara gave me a blue helmet, yes the helmet was exactly the helmet she gave me first, she still keeps it, and from the smell of it it looks like this helmet was never worn, and it smells like it was just washed. But I tried to ignore it and get on the bike.
He drove his bike so fast. I know where this road we're taking is going. The road to the top. And I know exactly where he's taking me.
We arrived at the Milky Way Cafe. Of course, where else would he take me.
We took off our helmets after Althara parked his bike in front of the cafe.
He noticed the Cafe that had changed a lot after being abandoned for so long.
“Many changes during my ga here”
His words made me turn lazy eyeballs hearing his babbling.
Althara pulled my hand into the cafe and sat down at our favorite spot, which had been my favorite spot all along.
Althara looks so happy from the look of her face that beamed series see the view of the city next to her that is still bright.
A waiter approached us.
“Eh mbak Alhena, tumben here is still bright mbak” said the waiter who made me just smile stiffly.
Indirectly the waiter told Althara that I often come here at night.
Althara was seen laughing at me behind her smile while opening the menu book.
“I order Coffee Latte same French fries cheese ya” said Althara while giving back her menu book.
“Mbak Alhena equals Coffee latte too right?”
Asked the waiter who came back to make me clumsy in front of Althara.
Why does this waitress keep showing Althara that I'm here a lot ?
I nodded my head tightly. Yes indeed our favorite drink has always been the same since long ago, it can not be changed.
He looked back at the scene beside him.
“Ngapain bring me here?” My toot.
“I just want to take a walk”
“All my friends are busy”
“Yes why should I? You can take Rey, she has no work today, right?”
Althara looked at me coldly as I mentioned Rey's name.
“She is also busy Alhena”
“busy chasing women who liked his”
Althara's answer managed to keep me quiet. I know the one in her mascud is me.
My phone rings on my desk. Seen Rey's name appears on the screen, Althara also saw it.
I let my phone ring.
“Why not in lift?” His question made me reluctant to answer.
“You or me lift?” Threaten her.
“Kalo she asked me again where should I answer what?” My tone was starting to sound upset.
Now Althara is silent and looks uncomfortable. I do not understand why after all that has happened I am still afraid to see Althara like this, even though I can fight her or not care about her. But what I feel now, just like a few years ago. I was stupid.
It was getting dark, but Althara was still busy reading her novel. We didn't talk to each other or tell each other where he was all this time. I was reluctant to start a conversation that would only make me rise in blood.
“I want to go home”
He didn't bully me, he kept reading the book.
“Althara I want to go home” I said by slightly tightening my volume so that she heard it.
He folded his books and kept them on the table. He raised his head to look at the sprinkling of stars that were already seen shining in the sky that night. Then he glanced at the scenery beside him which had begun to look the lights of the city twinkled beautifully.
I leaned myself on the chair, let him enjoy it first. Maybe he's missing all that.
“Since when did you move to Jakarta?” Ask her without looking at me.
“Not your business” ketus me.
Althara looked at me sharply. That look was a look I didn't like. I hate it when I have to be afraid to ignore it.
“3 years ago” I finally gave up on answering her.
“Your lecture is done?”
I shook my head.
“Ngga”
“Why?”
“you're really into it!”
Althara kept both of her hands on the table facing me who was getting stubborn.
“What's the reason you moved to Jakarta?”
I looked at him with annoyance. He could have been theatrical as if he did not know what he had done to me all this time.
“I'm trying to find a new life and new happiness here” there is emphasis in my sentence for Althara to believe what I said.
“Then? Until now you haven't found your new happiness?”
I raised my eyebrows staring at him.
“Who said? I'm almost getting new happiness if you don't show up in front of me again”
Althara looked surprised at my words. She leaned back on her chair and threw away her face staring at the scene that was beside her. She was sure she was digesting my words, because her face was so worried.
I don't know why I feel bad seeing him like that. There's something wrong in me, I hate why I should feel guilty for lying to her. But I have to realize, he has hurt me more than this.
“We go home” he said while cleaning all the stuff into his bag, then he left me.
I'm still sitting in my chair. Organize my already erratic feelings, and go after Althara.
