Disappear

“I want to give you a graduation gift” said Althara when we were on our way home from my graduation.

“What?” My toot.

“Now you take a shower first change clothes and prepare to wear thick” clothes, he said.

I nodded with his spirit.

Althara had asked Papa and Mama for permission to take me out to a place that was still a secret from me. And Papa gave his permission, and I and Althara immediately went to the place he had determined.

“So it's a surprise” I said with a smile when we reached the parking lot of his favorite Caffe.

Althara didn't answer and pulled me into the cafe, she asked me to sit where I was first and she came to this place.

“Hahaha thank you Althara for her surprise” I said with a smile because I could again watch the beautiful sky with a sprinkling of stars and city lights flashing down there.

“It's not a surprise his Alhena” Althara made me frown.

He reached into something from his bag and showed a thick book with the words “Drhuva” in front of the book cover.

My eyes were round, and I immediately snatched the novel from his hands.

“Hah !! This book” I was so surprised to see a book that I had thought had been lost and I would never find again.

Althara smiled looking at me who was so happy.

“Why can this book be on you?”

I remember very well how disappointed I was when Miss Rosi lost the book I had been looking for.

I smiled hearing the story, then hugged Althara happily.

I lifted my head and combed the star that was right in my head, searching for that star among its millions of stars.

“Polaris star, the star that can be a compass for explorers, shows that the star is in the North right?”

He looked at me in amazement.

“Okay if so, the star is now yours so you don't get lost” continued Althara made me squint my forehead.

“Emang can Star in owned people huh?” I laughed with his babble.

“Oke if so, you choose which star you want to change his” said me.

I combed again the twinkling stars in the sky there.

“Sirius? Orionist ? Canopus?” Ask me while pointing out the stars I mean.

Althara's hand touched my nose with her index finger. I looked at her confused.

“I?” She smiled sweetly.

“Quite this star that I want”

“I will always be your star Althara”

Again Althara looked at me in silence, her gaze always the same, always filled with worry that I never understood.

“Alhena you should know, whatever happens in front later. I am always around you without you knowing, and you must always believe that I will always love you”

I smiled listening to her earnestness. He always flattered me like this.

“I will also always love you no matter what happens Althara. Because I believe as big as any problem that is in front of us later, I am sure we will be easy through his” said me with full confidence.

He looked at me doubtfully. Then Althara smiled.

“And by the way you can say happy birthday to me before past midnight” said Althara surprised me.

“Hah?! Birthday?” I'm surprised I don't believe it.

I patted my head with guilt.

“Althara I forgot today is your birthday too, oh God. Al, I'm sorry I really didn't inget”

I kept apologizing to him by shaking his body. Althara laughed at my panic.

Yes, last year on his birthday, Althara asked me not to give anything but accompany him all day. From morning until midnight I accompany him wherever he wants, even when we are tired we will both look for other activities in his house by watching movies at home, cooking etc.

A few hours have passed. It does not feel that it is past midnight, our conversation has advanced to discuss the continuation of my majoring in college. I kept talking to him even though he only responded with a smile and a laugh. His gaze continued to focus on the beautiful city lights.

The next day Althara disappeared somewhere. No news, no news. Althara left me with a million questions that almost drove me crazy. He left me when our relationship seemed to be fine. I held out for a few months to wait for the news. Until more than 3 years old Althara disappeared, I left the city of Bandung, the city of my birth. I left all the good memories there for my survival. The promise that Althara said all this time kept turning around in my memory. I can't afford to hang on there with all the sweet memories of me and Althara that might never come back the way they used to be. And I finally gave up.
