Young Lecturer Love Cage

Young Lecturer Love Cage
Chapter 6

The day passed without feeling. A week is like a day because the sun rises and sinks so quickly.

It was difficult for Laura to avoid Gisel's request from a few days ago, regarding her participation in the inauguration of the gumilar dorm.

Every time Laura was in her dorm room, Gisel was never absent to ask if she would come or choose to delay.

The show itself will be held tomorrow night. All seniors who became event organizers have spread invitations to several parties to attend the annual event. The hostels of the girls and sons dormitory were invited to the event. The main goal is to strengthen the bond between fellow residents of the dormitory. The event itself is held in the main hall of the university and will be ended by a dining session there.

"Laura.." call Gisel half sulking at his roommate who just came out of the bathroom.

Laura kept walking up to her wardrobe and picked up some of the pieces of clothing she was going to use to go to college. Gisel who was getting familiar with Laura ran over to Laura who was about to get dressed.

"Lauraaaa.." Gisel's tone of voice was increasingly made spoiled. She was holding the sky blue hodie Laura was going to wear.

"What?!" Laura stared pushyly at Gisel.

"Tomorrow the night you're coming, right?!" said Gisel let Laura put her hodie back on.

"Why don't you come there yourself? I was lazy to come to such an event." said Laura looking gently at her spoiled friend.

"I don't want you to come." Gisel pursed his lips in annoyance.

Laura scratched her non-itchy temple. The more the day gets closer to Gisel, making him know how Gisel's character is. Gisel was the last of three children. His two older brothers were men, and he became the only woman in his family. His father was an employee at a bona fide insurance company in Jakarta, while his mother had died since he was still in High School. Both of his brothers work in a company. The first sister, Laura, later learned of her name as Hendra, worked at an oil mine in Sumatra. While his second brother named Ibram only a few months ago graduated from his education at the University of Indonesia, and now has managed to occupy one of the prestigious positions in major companies in Jakarta.

By being the only woman plus her position as the last child, makes Gisel have a spoiled and a little crybaby. Gisel himself can easily become familiar with Laura because of Laura's strong character, firm and loving. The right character for Gisel to be able to indulge in his bedmate.

Laura breathed. Seeing Gisel's sulking face made it unbearable not to accompany him at the inauguration event.

"Just for a minute" he said later. As soon as Gisel's eyes shone brightly, his lips began to smile broadly staring happily at his friend. "I'll be with you for just a moment. After the dinner, we're back." Laura emphasized her point so that Gisel understood.

"OKAY. I get it." Gisel nodded quickly.

"Now step out of my way." Laura pushed towards the side of Gisel's body that was in front of her. "You're not in college?" tanyanya then while taking the shoes from inside the shelf.

"Later noon." replied Gisel briefly. She continued to smile following Laura to the door of the room. Her feelings became impatient to immediately come to the annual event. Laura smiled wryly at the cheerful face of her friend, before she finally set out to start college.

Laura walked towards her college building. He carries a laptop in his backpack. Bandung air at that time felt friendly to his skin, fresh morning with cool air made his footsteps feel relaxed. The breeze shook her strands of scattered hair.

The distance between the dormitory building and the lecture building is no more than 500 meters. The dormitory building is a few blocks away behind his college building. Along the way to the lecture hall, neat rows of red shoots. The remaining leaves of the wind were scattered on the asphalt road that was tracked by Laura at that time.

His eyes looked at the two three-story buildings on the left close to the intersection between the road leading to the back gate of the campus and the basketball court. There seemed to be crowded by students who were preparing to go to their respective lecture buildings. It was the sakula and sadewa dormitory building, where the male students lived.

Laura kept walking through the building. Some students walked by on bicycles. From the looks of it he guessed, they must be from the medical department. Neat clothes with long shirts that are included in slim fit pants plus mountain bikes from the best brands they use, enough to convince Laura that they will eventually end up being a doctor.

It's true, sometimes appearances show your social status. But unfortunately, differences in social status can be so pronounced even within the campus. The campus should be a neutral place for all social status. On campus what distinguishes one person from another should be the quality of his brain. Not the quality of his appearance. But it seems that thought is just utopian thought. Because in reality social status will always feel wherever you are. Including where you are studying.

"It turns out you're here."

Laura looked up her head for a moment, staring in wonder at Rena who was behind her. Laura's eyes followed Rena who started to sit on her side chair.

"I went to the cafeteria. I thought you were there." Rena explained when she saw the astonished look of her friend.

"Oh. I didn't go to the cafeteria this morning. Lazy." Laura said relax.

Laura pulled out her phone from the bag, she immediately gave it to Rena who had been waiting since.

"It should have been a long time since we exchanged mobile numbers" said Rena as her finger typed several numbers on Laura's mobile screen. "You don't care so much, you never ask for my phone number first" she said.

"sorry. I forgot about that." Laura smiled regretfully. She never seems to be as busy exchanging mobile numbers as other classmates. He's too lazy to share what he thinks is privacy. Except for Rena and Gisel who are now her closest friends.

Sabiel sipped warm jasmine tea from the cup that was in front of him. He is currently in the Dean's room of the Faculty. Sanjaya who had been talking to someone through the telephon connection smiled kindly at Sabiel who was watching him.

"Wait a minute" said Sanjaya only in the form of lip movements that are clear enough for Sabiel to understand. Sabiel nodded casually.

His eyes saw the invitation card wrapped neatly in transparent plastic lying not far from its position. He took the card, and read the large text on the front cover of the card. NIGHT INAGURATION DORM PRINCESS GUMILAR.

Gumilar dormitory? That's where Laura lives.

Sabiel seemed to think for a moment, the shadow of Laura's face was immediately painted clearly in his mind. He smiled full of strategy.

"It's an annual event in the college dormitory."

Her foster father's explanation makes Sabiel's view now turn to the parents who walked up to her after closing the phone back on her desk.

"Who was that?" Sabiel asked

"People from the Rectorate. They asked me to be the Assistant Rector." Sanjaya looks at her temple.

"Isn't that good?"

"I'm not interested. Did you forget?! after I'm done with this job, I'm gonna file for retirement." Sanjaya felt that it was enough for him to always be busy with campus matters and work. He wanted in his old age, he was always with his beloved wife. Enjoy old age all day without being pestered by a monotonous meeting agenda.

"It's enough for me to spend time at work. Now is the time for me to enjoy old age at home with my wife" said Sanjaya wisely. A feeling of pleasure is clearly heard from every word that is said.

Sabiel smiled hearing that. His foster parents were indeed lucky people. Having a harmonious family with an obedient and loving wife, who devotes all her time to taking care of her husband and two children. Indeed, his adoptive parents became the ideal picture of a family for Sabiel. Every time he came to visit the Sanjaya residence, Sabiel sometimes felt jealous to see the warmth that emanated from the affection and mutual care among the family members.

Sabiel felt that warmth every day. Every time. Until he reaches the end of his age.

"What's the dorm's inauguration?" Sabiel deliberately changed the subject. Besides respecting Sanjaya's choice to reject the offer, Sabiel was curious about the invitation from Laura's dormitory.

"Sort of a friendly event. All the residents are present to strengthen the sense of kinship." Sanjaya explained in broad outline. Sabiel seemed to nod his head.

"You want to try coming?" the question that Sabiel was waiting for finally came out as well. His eyes stared with interest as he thought about meeting the girl again.

Today Sabiel does not have a teaching schedule in Laura's classroom. Same with the next two days because of the weekend. But this invitation of inauguration will make him meet again with the beautiful girl without waiting for the day to go to college. Of course this was a tempting offer that Sabiel would not have missed out on.

He should come tomorrow night.

"Yes. I'll come." Sabiel grinned happily at the offer.
