Young Lecturer Love Cage

Young Lecturer Love Cage
Chapter 12

Laura ran as fast as she could to leave the classroom. Her chest pounded even more, anxiety wrapped around her beautiful parachute as she recalled a message sent by her uncle informing her that her father was lying ill in one of the capital's private hospitals.

Laura's tears flowed without being prevented, her father's condition was getting worse after her mother. Laura's father has been diagnosed with heart disease. From the beginning of the disease attacked Laura's father, Laura asked her father to live with his sister in her grandmother's house. It was Laura suggested based on input from her own uncle. Laura, an only child, is unlikely to leave her ailing father alone.

The distance between Bandung and Jakarta which is quite far does not make Laura absent to always monitor her father's health. On the sidelines of her busy college, Laura always contact her father or aunt's uncle to find out how her father's current condition.

Laura's own father since he was sentenced to have a heart, never once looked sick or weak. Laura's father always gave her daughter the impression that she was in good shape. Therefore, when Laura got a message from her uncle, Laura's body felt weak. His gaze that had originally focused on the eyes of the lecture was gone already. Laura became agitated, several times she corrected her sitting position regardless of the astonished view of Rena sitting next to her. Even as Rena noticed Laura's uneasiness, and asked her. Laura looked silent, her throat like it was stuck until no words came out of her mouth.

Laura kept running towards the campus gate, her destination was the train station. He should go home right now.

"Laura!"

A voice stopped Laura's quick steps. He wiped off his tears before he looked at the source of the sound. Sabiel stood in front of his parked car not far from the campus gate.

"What happened to you?" Sabiel walked over to Laura who was silent stiff. He looked worried to see the scars and puddles on Laura's face that looked flushed.

"What's wrong with you, Laura?" Sabiel repeated his question again when there was no explanation from Laura's lips.

Laura could no longer defend against the tightness in her chest. His chest rose and fell rapidly as the returning tears fell on both of his cheeks.

Sabiel was stunned to see the girl's tear patter. His eyes looked around where they were standing. It felt like I wanted to bring Laura into his arms. This girl looks so fragile, unlike the usual Laura.

Sabiel took pains to hold back his desire to tightly hug the sobbing girl before him. He suffered from seeing the look on Laura's face that looked sad.

"Dad." he said stammered, his eyes saw so many students who went back and forth. "I have to go back to Jakarta, sir. My father went to the hospital" Laura said in a breath. Although the condition was so urgent, he had to keep his attitude to the lecturer in front of him, considering how crowded they were.

"I have to go to the station immediately." he added later.

"OKAY. I'll take you there." Sabiel immediately invited Laura into his car very politely, amid the curious gazes of the people who saw them, he had to behave like a lecturer who wanted to help his students.

Laura looked doubtful, her gaze saw the surrounding conditions that were being crowded by passing students.

"Not to worry Laura. Those who know your condition will understand." Sabiel realized Laura's unwillingness. "Don't think of anything, just think of your father" Sabiel said reassuringly.

Laura tried to dispel her anxiety at the astonished look of the people who were looking towards the two of them. His memory returned to the father lying in wait for his arrival. With a jittery step, Laura got into Sabiel's car. Without any meaningful conversation, Sabiel immediately ran his car. Take Laura to Bandung station soon.

Laura immediately looked for a taxi once she had been at the gate of the gambier station. He raised his hand to a taxi driver who had been watching him.

Drrr... Drtts...

Laura's cell phone rang loudly at speed with the taxi that was now in front of her.

"Hello" said Laura as she opened the taxi door.

"Jakarta Pak Heart Hospital, Matraman" Laura told a taxi driver who looked at her in the passenger seat.

"Hello?" Laura spoke to someone across the street.

"Have you arrived?" sabiel's voice sounded anxious.

"Now I'm in a taxi." Laura looked at the congested streets of Jakarta through the window beside her.

"Good, I was so anxious to let you go alone" Sabiel said sincerely.

"alright. Laura, if you need anything, you can always call me. After teaching I will call you back" Sabiel said

"Thank you very much Sabiel." said Laura before closing her phone back and agitated at the traffic jam in front of her.

The distance from Gambir station to the hospital is actually no more than 30 minutes. But because of the traffic jam that suddenly occurred, the trip to the hospital so molesor up to almost an hour. Laura's face wrinkled up since then, several times swearing out of her mouth when her eyes still saw the vehicle that stopped walking and formed a long snake along the streets of the Capital.

When her foot managed to step on the main lobby of the hospital, Laura hurried to step onto the spot where her father was lying. Room after room of the big hospital was passed by Laura. His eyes moved quickly sweeping the patient's nameplate printed on the doorstep of the hospital room.

Laura was running a little when in front of a room from a distance her uncle was talking to a nurse.

Laura's chest beat rapidly as she got an eye signal from her uncle to see her father. With cautious steps, Laura entered the room.

Czechoslovak. The sound of the door opening.

Laura's heart suddenly crumpled when she saw her father's condition lying weakly on the patient's bed. Beside her father's bed Laura saw her aunt and niece, standing as soon as Laura appeared behind the door.

The girl closed her mouth firmly, preventing a loud stuffing from coming out from there. He did not want to disturb his father's sleep. Laura's footsteps faltered toward her father, her chest like a blow so hard that it felt broken to pieces when her eyes saw so many life support tools attached to the frail body of her father.

"How's dad doing, bi?" ask her to Dina, the wife of her uncle. Dina looked wistfully at the figure of her sister who was lying weakly on the bed.

"The conditions are much better, Laura" he said slowly. "Sit down." she asked Laura who was still standing stiff at the end of her father's bed.

Laura sat on the chair beside Dina, she gently stroked her father's fingers. As forcefully as possible, Laura held back her tears from spilling there.

"Yesterday after dinner, your father fell in the bathroom. We were all shocked when we saw him instantly unconscious." Dina explains the incident before Laura's father ended up in the hospital.

"You just got here, you better get some rest first, Laura." Dina gave advice.

"No bi, I'll be here with you. Aunts, uncles and Dawn come home first, you need more rest" said Laura gently looking into my eyes aunts and nieces alternately.

Before long, the door of the room opened. Ali came in with some food for Laura. He put the food on the table near the window of the room.

"Eat first Laura, you must be hungry after a long journey" he said wisely as he approached Laura.

"Thank you uncle, I'll eat later. You guys just rest at home." said Laura.

After seeing his wife, Ali agreed to return home.

"Well, tomorrow we'll come here again." Ali looked at his nephew. "You have to be strong Laura" he continued, hugging Laura tightly before finally letting his wife and son hug Laura later.

Only silence remained in the room. Laura's eyes could not be separated from looking at the look on her father's face. The day has gone up at night, the sky of the capital is getting dark. The streetlight pendants look like fireflies in the field of thatch.

That day, Laura spent the night clasping her father's fingers tightly shut. In her heart, Laura was still afraid. She was afraid that her father would leave her forever.

"Dad, hang on" he said softly.
