Trapped With The Devil

Trapped With The Devil
Section 63

For a moment, Selena thought that Jasmine and Eros' relationship was not just a distant relative. In the two flashes of the woman's eyes there was something radiating beyond affection towards a relative.

The amazement at seeing Eros and the sincere smile Jasmine always showed made Selena think that she might indeed consider Eros more than a relative.

Then when the breakfast ended, Selena became convinced of her prejudices.

Jasmine glanced at him before climbing the stairs and suddenly the woman fell down with a loud bang.

Although Eros raised his face with a flat expression, but as much worry seemed in both eyes. The man quickly walked over to Jasmine who was sitting on the stairs while stirring and holding her ankle.

“You all right?”

“Looks like my leg sprained.”

Selena approached them as Eros massaged Jasmine's legs while the woman glanced at her with a flat expression.

“Then you better take a break. Come room. You can stand, right?”

Jasmine tried to stand up but her body collapsed again and Eros swiftly caught the woman's body.

Selena quickly looked away. Honestly, he didn't like to see the view.

“It looks like the sprained is quite severe.” Jasmine biting lips.

Eros sighed softly. Without further ado carried the woman in front of her body.

“Sorry to trouble you, Eros.”

Selena glanced back at Jasmine after the sentence the woman said and saw a smile of satisfaction on her lips. The two women's hands hugged Eros' neck tightly and rested her head on the man's shoulder without letting go of his gaze at Selena who was just staring at their departure expressionlessly.

.

.

.

Selena was sitting in front of the fireplace of her room when Eros' car had just left the parking lot. The woman raised her head when the sound of the car came back. Selena half stood up and looked over from the window. His forehead frowned, it wasn't Eros' car. But who's it?

The question was immediately answered when a male figure emerged from behind the car and as if aware of its existence, the glasses man raised his head and looked towards his room.

Selena.

That's... Orlando's?

Selena quickly came out of the room. With a careful step he went down the stairs and saw how Jasmine seemed to welcome the presence of the man—with a physique that looked perfectly fine. Very different from this morning, even Eros was willing to hold the woman.

Selena smiled wryly. He really felt cheated.

“Oh, Selena?”

The woman quickly looked over.

Orlando and Jasmine seemed to be glancing at him from downstairs.

“You know him?” jasmine asked the man.

Orlando simply smiled meaningfully. His feet stepped slowly to climb the stairs regardless of Jasmine's question. Her eyes were fixed on the graceful looking Selena in a brown knit dress and jacket. After not seeing each other for a long time, the woman looked even more charming.

“How are you, Selena?”

Selena glanced at Orlando and Jasmine alternately before replying, “how did you... why did you guys get to know each other?”.

Orlando stopped and left three steps that became the separation between him and Selena.

The man smiled back. “I and Jasmine are business partners.”

“Business partner?”

It's a coincidence, huh?

Orlando nodded. “My presence is here to discuss the project we are working on together. But I got word that Jasmine was staying at her relative's house and suddenly had a small accident.” The man's shoulders lifted lightly. “A good luck to me because he was staying at your house and in the end we could meet again since you... still in Japan.”.

Selena gulped. Yep. In Japan he was a lot of trouble for the man. And he owes him.

Selena frowning. “Flower... rose?” Then he remembered the bouquet of roses that Eros threw into the trash can yesterday.

Not likely. Does Orlando want to die?!

“I..” Selena took her eyes off. Don't know what to say. He could not lie to that man.

Jasmine frowned at the interaction of the two people. They seem to know each other. But more than that, he grew curious about Selena. How could Orlando possibly get to know the woman and seem so familiar with continuing to comment on her smile?

Sweeping softly, Jasmine walked up to the two people. “Sorry, I didn't know that you guys already knew each other.”

Orlando looked. “Ah, yes. I'm sorry.”

Jasmine wagged while glancing at Selena who turned her face away. “Can we talk in the living room only?”

Orlando nodded. “Sure.”

“Maybe after talking to me you can reminisce with Selena,”, jasmine said. But from any angle the remark did not sound funny. “Of course if you're ready to take a hit from Eros.”

Orlando chuckled softly as he turned around and passed Jasmine's body. “Maybe Eros has done something more than that.”

**

“It's good to see you back, Andreas.”

The man leaned slowly. “Welcome back, President.”

Eros smiled as he sat at the desk he had left. Before Andrew could turn around to leave the room, Eros interrupted him again.

“Andreas.”

Andreas automatically stops the step and turns around. “Ya?”

“You don't mind making me coffee?”

Andreas gulped. “Ya, with pleasure.”

The man then stepped towards the end of the room—where there was a coffee maker.

Eros leaned against his body while staring at the man's wide back with both hands folded over his chest.

“Actually what do you think Alex is like?” ask Eros after a while. “Why are you so brave to report me who clearly has a blood relationship with him?”

Andreas' body stiffened. He tried to pour the coffee quietly and replied, “why are you so curious?”

Eros took a breath. “Because Alex said that you just wanted to protect her. If Alex hadn't held me back, you would have been destroyed by now.”

Andreas stirred the black liquid and smiled bitterly. His body turned to place the steaming cup of coffee in front of Eros.

Andreas sighed softly as he found Eros still faithfully staring at him and waiting for a patient answer.

The man looked down for a moment. “Alex is still so young since he replaced your Father, Mr. William.” His head was then lifted again and his lips revealed a bitter smile. “At that time I also just worked a few months, knowing that me and Alex were the same age, we became close friends. We grew up together and often often exchanged stories.”

Eros straighten the body. I began to get interested in the man's story. Especially in the part where Andreas and Alex often exchange stories.

“Alex bears such a heavy burden; the pressure of work, the loss of his father, but he always looks tough. And you should know that..” Andreas' throat was blocked. “...the love Alex has for you is clearly greater than the love he has for Emilia.”

“Why can you say that?” ask Eros expressionlessly.

Andreas clenches both of his hands beside the body, while both of his eyes are glazed—remember how Alex chose to go with Aster to a distant place. Even when she learned that Emilia had a mental breakdown and had destroyed her family, the man kept the door open.

“You want to know one secret?” Andreas straightened his body and looked at Eros without hesitation.

Eros did not reply but the man's expression had explained everything.

Andreas took a deep breath. He should not have said this because he had promised Alex. But after all these events, there was already nothing that needed to be covered up anymore.

He only hoped, after saying that, Eros could completely change his view of Alex or even the world.

“In fact, Alex once cut ties with Emilia when you went to Oxford. But when Emilia miscarries, Alex returns to the woman to save your good name.”

Eros. His chest suddenly hurt. What did he say all this time?
