Section 21

Selena awakens after her body is shaken violently by Sam. The woman fell asleep just three hours ago after a night of solitude on the balcony until the rain had subsided.

"Selena, you gotta get up!"

Still half-conscious, Selena was dragged into the living room, where a flat-screened television was showing gossip shows hosted by a thick-skinned woman.

Selena yawns. "What the hell is it?"

Sam directed Selena's face to stare at the television screen. "Look!"

Selena blinked, but a few seconds later her eyes were wide open. "What the fuck?!" he said he was angry while staring at the photos that were plastered with Leo.

"I thought that man would never let you get away with it!"

Selena gasps. No. gabe. Is it possible that Eros told someone to spread the rumor while he was about to die?

No. gabe. Leo is Eros' friend. The man couldn't possibly be reckless about dragging his best friend's name on his own, could he?

Selena gave a rough sigh. He holds his head dizzy after being brutally awakened by Sam—now must see the most absurd news dragging his name and Leo. Cheating said?! What if those people knew that his relationship with Eros was just a charade?

Eros couldn't stay in the hospital for long. It was a place he hated most besides his new home. His whole body is still painful in some parts, but he will not whine like a child. He was a strong man, the wounds on his body would never be comparable to the wounds on his heart. Sometimes the bloodless ones hurt more.

Mistress William sat beside Eros and glanced at her son who was just speechless as he cast his gaze outside. "Before, did you have a fight with Selena?"

Eros. Why did her mother suddenly discuss Selena?

"She left you and put your engagement ring down in the hospital" continued Mrs William. "I don't think she's staying with you anymore."

Eros clucked. "What do all the words of Mother mean? Our relationship is fine."

"No need to lie to my mother anymore. I know that you never loved her."

Eros. "What do you want?"

Mistress William touched Eros' hand and her gaze softened. "Leave that woman, you can get a better woman than her. Mom has some contacts and—"

"Why do you look so hateful to Selena?" cut Eros with a frowning forehead. "And again, I never wanted to be involved in an arranged marriage with anyone."

Lady William shook her head. "Mother doesn't hate her, mother just.." those words came to a halt when she saw Eros throw a cold stare at her.

Their hand links were missing. Eros turned his face away and muttered, "even after he saved my life?"

Mistress William fell silent as she looked at her empty hand. It had been a long time since he had clasped his youngest son's hand and it was so cold. Maybe, like his heart.

Eros. "This is not the way to the house!"

"What exactly are you planning?!"

"You're sick, you can't stay alone."

"Don't pity me!" Eros grunting. "Stop," he said impatiently.

"No. Keep walking."

"Say stop!"

The car braked suddenly with a terrible scream. Mistress William was wide-eyed as Eros recklessly opened the door and exited without a second thought.

"South!" He screamed from inside the car but the man did not heed. "Why did you stop?!" sorry for the driver.

"I'm sorry, ma'am..."

Mistress William only sighed rudely in response.

"Selena, where are you going?" Sam rushed to Selena who had a small bag and was putting her sneakers on the doorstep.

Selena glanced at him for a moment. "Find out who the gossip spreader is."

Sam shakes. "I'm sure Leo—"

The sound of the bell interrupting. The two automatically turned their heads and glanced at someone from the intercom screen. After that Selena rushed to open the door.

"Thank God you're here!" Selena heaved a sigh of relief after finding the figure of Leo standing in front of the door.

Leo gnashed. "Have you seen the news?"

Selena nodded. "That's the most absurd news."

Both of Leo's shoulders were raised. "Most importantly, did you know that Eros—"

"I know," cut Selena down while you're peeing."

Leo sighed. "I'm here because my people told me you weren't in your apartment."

Sam, who had been a listener since, said, "do you know who's behind all the rumors?"

Leo looked at the two people in front of him in turn. "Yes." Yeah."
