Trapped With The Devil

Trapped With The Devil
Section 44

Selena nodded slowly. The light from the room lights panned, making his eyes narrow again. This scent was definitely not a hospital, but rather his room.

While trying to move, he moaned with pain in his back. He remembered the red-haired man who had kicked him on the back until he fell to the ground.

Wait—cage?!

“She is fine.”

The heavy voice replied as if realizing Selena's panicked expression. The woman quickly turned her head to look at Eros who was standing next to the window and gazed at him.

Thank God if the baby is okay.

“B-how about Jessica?” ask Selena to worry.

“He's fine too. I fired him.”

“What?”

Eros approached with a slow step. “He's been remiss in taking care of you. Why should he take you through a shortcut?”

“I asked,” Selena said firmly. He doesn't like the way Eros fired Jessica at heart when she had obviously tried to protect him. “So you don't have to fire Jessica. It wasn't his fault.”

“My decision is absolute.” Eros sat on the side of the bed and touched Selena's feet covered in blankets. “Why do you still like to challenge me? See what has happened because of your carelessness?”

Selena only realized that Eros' hand that stroked her leg was now wrapped in a bandage. He turned his face away, inevitably having to admit that the man had saved him.

“Why? Regretted?”

Somehow the man was already in front of his face. Her fingers stroked gently along the neck to Selena's jaw. Her breath is warm, mint-scented and citrus refreshing—and Selena hates saying that she likes the scent.

“Selena..”

As if hypnotized, Selena turned her face away. Staring directly at those two mysterious brownish black eyeballs.

Eros is handsome. Very handsome in fact. His eyes are sharp and sweeping, his nose is sharp and straight, his lips are thin and pink—although the man was seen smoking several times. But the aura is always cold. Darkened. Blacker. Selena always asks, is he the man she once loved?

“Why..” Selena's warm hands now change to caress Eros' perfectly formed jaw. “Why, Eros?” her question was full of despair.

Eros pulled his hand as he looked at the woman's sad gaze. Selena's face seemed to shine even though the light of the lamp was covered by her wide back. Looks weak and weak. It looks small and fragile. Without such defense..very ‘dangerous' once.

“You..” Selena's throat was blocked. “Not the man who has made me fall in love.”

Eros grabbed Selena's hand and kissed her. The man smiled blandly. “No problem,” he said when he saw the eyes of Selena who began to dim— again because of the influence of drugs given by doctors. “Because you are also not the woman who has made me fall in love.” Eros changed to kiss the woman's forehead when her eyelids closed perfectly.

For a long time, he looked at Selena who had fallen asleep again. Then his gaze descended on the woman's stomach.

What makes Selena so worried about a growing fetus from a relationship she never wanted?

Sometimes Selena makes Eros clueless, like that woman who doesn't understand all her attitudes.

When all her thoughts were focused on Selena, she was getting used to her presence. Arguing with him for trivial things and throwing sharp words at each other, all that feels better than a thousand expressions of love and affection but in fact only speech. Blank.

Perhaps Eros has rejected his declaration of love cruelly. But he had observed the woman long ago—without her noticing. And she knew Selena was a strong woman. Because after everything that Selena passed, the woman can still stand upright until now.

That's the reason why Eros chose it. Because Selena is a reflection of herself.

Two people who are both lonely and have no love. Both victims of world atrocities. Now they have one reason to love—that is the fetus that is slowly growing inside the woman's womb.

But sometimes Eros forgets that his true love is not his own. He just denied, so as not to feel the pain again.

**

Selena woke up again with a body that was not as painful as when she first realized and left only a little pain in her back.

When she wanted to get out of bed, Selena was surprised by a breath that touched her nape, as well as a burly hand that coiled over her stomach.

Without having to turn her head, Selena knew that the man was Eros. But he did not understand why the man could sleep while hugging him while Eros could sleep in his own room?!

Selena sighed softly. He tried to escape from the man's trap despite his efforts in vain because Eros instead re-embraced his body tightly.

“Do not go..”

Selena gulps. The man's lips even touched his nape. It's too close!

“Eros?” Selena tried to wake the man up.

Silent. Now Selena's body is drowning in the deck of Eros. Feels warm and comfortable. But for two people who hate each other isn't it too strange?

Selena just took a breath back. It was free to rebel, the heavy arms were as hard as steel. In the end, he turns a blind eye and follows Eros to dreamland.

And missed a mutter that came out of the man afterwards.

“Do not go...Selena.”

“It looks like Grandma's state is getting better.” Orlando smiled gently as he glanced at the middle-aged woman leaning on the head of the bed.

“It would be even better if you visit here more often.” Her grandmother glanced over her round glasses.

Orlando laughed for a moment before giving one a kiss on his grandmother's cheek. “Grandma knows myself I'm busy because I replaced Dad in the company. After all Singapore is quite far away, Nek.”

His grandmother just nodded slowly. “Boy granddaughter is different from women,” quipped as if sorry for having a grandson who is always busy and insensitive.

Orlando just chuckled back. Shortly a nurse entered the room.

“It's time to take medicine.”

His grandmother immediately pouted.

“Grandma has to take medicine if you want to go home quickly,” Orlando said before exiting the room because his phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket.

“Ya?”

Orlando moved away from the room while attaching the rectangular object to the ear. Fear that his voice would disturb the peace of the hospital.

“I'm visiting Grandma in Singapore.”

His feet continued to walk down the special corridor of the VVIP's room.

“Iya, later in the afternoon I—“ Orlando speech stopped. He returned his steps back to look at the figure lying in one of the rooms from behind the frosted window.

Eyes squinting. That fellow...

“Halo? You there?”
