Throne For Princes In Novels
Ep. 5 Approaching a Husband

I never thought seeing Queen Media was draining my energy and making me hungry. Earlier this morning before seeing Queen Media I ate only a little food because my mouth still tasted bitter. But my body suddenly got better after what I wanted went my way and now I want to eat sweet foods to raise my blood sugar.

"Anne, have you done what I asked?" I asked Anne my personal servant.

"Already, all the cakes and snacks that the Princess wants have been neatly wrapped and I have put them in the basket. If I could tell, where would you take him?" Anne replied, wondering where I'm going to take these cookies.

"Of course to my husband, should not the sweet things be shared with the closest people, hmm?" I answered with a smile on my lips.

"I'll go first Anne..." I said as I waved my hand leaving Anne.

"Hopefully your day pleases the Princess." Anne said with a respectful bow before I left my room.

After successfully expelling all the servants in the prince's palace and leaving Anne with only a few important servants, my next effort was to approach Leonard as best I could to gain his trust. Yep... Even if it's really hard, but at least I'll try to get him to lower his guard to me a little bit. And the first step is to bring sweet pastries and some snacks in the middle of his training schedule. Yep... Let's just say I was having a picnic under a tree while looking at my husband's cold sword skills.

Like my original plan, I also approached the place where Leonard was practicing the sword and deliberately rolled out the cloth that I brought under one of the shady trees there. This way I can observe my little husband practicing the sword while enjoying a cup of chrysan flower tea with the sweet cake that Anne had prepared earlier.

"Look at the teacher as if there was no intention at all to teach Leonard. Then mending Leonard eat these sweet cakes with me, right?" My movements in the heart that have begun to saturate waiting for him since then.

I yawned and almost leaned my body against the tree when suddenly Leonard was standing on my face with sweat still dripping. And that made him many times look more handsome.

"Louisse?? What are you doing here?" Leonard's voice suddenly roused me from those mischievous thoughts.

"God!! What do I think of a thirteen year old boy?! Louisse you're completely insane!!" My meaning in my heart to myself.

"Haha... Of course I was cheering on my husband who was practicing." My answer must have sounded ridiculous in his ears. It was evident from the expression on his face that looked disdainfully at me.

"Haha... You don't have to be so serious, I'm just kidding." I misbehaved.

"Huuff...." Leonard immediately sighed.

"Yes my... Was I that bad until he breathed his leg like that?" My move in my heart is a little offended, but he is not wrong to pass on the person he considers his enemy...

"I'm just here to clear up our misunderstanding last night. I don't want as a husband and wife our relationship to be awkward." I told Leonard. Hopefully this time Leonard will listen to my explanation.

"He was silent, I take that as an answer." My inner.

"First now, sit down first and wipe your sweat with this towel." I gave her a small towel to wipe her sweat off, and luckily she wanted it without any repulsion.

"Here, drink it." Leonard received it again after I offered him the cup of tea I had brought from my residence earlier and he also drank it in silence.

"On last night... I asked like that not because I wanted to die, but I wanted to live longer. That's because I think you must hate me so much because I'm the wife directly chosen by Her Majesty the Queen. So I was wondering why you'd take the trouble to save my life?" I take him very seriously.

Leonard glanced at me for a moment and again sighed.

"Huhahh... I told you that if I didn't want a corpse in my room, it would be troublesome." He replied with such a flat expression and tone.

Though a little embarrassed as Leonard's answer remained the same, at least I explained it to him. Even though he seems cold like that he is still a kind protagonist because he cannot let a woman who is in pain in front of him.

"Are you not angry with me anymore?" I asked by putting a smiling face towards him.

"I've never been angry with you, nor have I ever hated you." Said Leonard, throwing his face away.

I was a little surprised by the answer he gave, but I hope this will be a good step for my plan going forward.

"Before I came here, I went to the Queen to greet her." My and Leonard's words stiffened immediately upon hearing that.

"I know you've been learning to sword outside the palace and the Queen knows it too." I said while whispering. This time Leonard not only stiffened but at the same time surprised because his secret had been known.

"Now the Queen has put her spies outside the palace, so I hope you're more careful to hide your excess from being noticed by the Queen's spy because someday it will be your US card." Whisper me again and he just quietly listened to me seriously.

"Louisse de Roman, I don't understand why you're telling me all this. What's your real purpose?" Said Leonard with a sharp look at me.

"Nothing, because I'm your wife who will always be on your side." I replied with a confident smile and Leonard immediately widened his eyes in surprise. Yep... Although I actually did it for my own sake to survive and avoid the death penalty that you will do in the future.

Leonard POV

The next day I was still thinking about what Louisse had said to me, and it still is. Can a girl who calls herself my wife believe me?

"What are you thinking until it's that serious?" Ask the man who is walking in front of me. Ahhe... I had forgotten that right now I was outside the palace with Rodrigo, the head of the mercenary association who was also my right-hand man.

"The Louisse de Roman... Ah I mean the woman who is my current wife, she said that she was on my side." My answer.

"I'm sure if the Queen told him to say so." Rodrego.

"Yes, I think so too." My heart somehow hopes that my guess is not true.

I've known that my marriage to Louisse was the Queen's scheming ever since I heard about my wedding plans. Queen Media must be trying to prevent my marriage plans with Duke Arzela's family from solidifying my position. Because if I can marry into one of the influential noble families then the Queen will never underestimate me again. And to prevent that from happening Queen Media appointed the daughter of the Roman Baron family as my wife. The Roman baron I knew was a lowly noble who was about to go bankrupt must have sold his only daughter to re-raise her reputation socially. Actually I feel sorry for Louisse who has been sold by his family to the palace for the good name of his family. However, I must remain vigilant and must not let my guard down at all because after all she is the Queen's chosen woman who is definitely an accomplice of Queen Media. At the wedding that time... Why is she crying? Is he pretending or is he forced to marry me without knowing anything? Ahhe... I remember her words that supported me.

"Ahh, shit!!"

Rodrigo suddenly cursed. All my thoughts instantly collapsed after hearing her swearing.

"What's wrong?" Ask her.

"There's someone following us from earlier." Answer in an upset tone.

Immediately I remembered what Louisse had said yesterday if the Queen had sent a spy to follow me. So then... Louisse didn't lie!

Seriate...
