Ep. 32 Gifts From a Loved Husband

Returning from his walk with Louisse, Leonard was quick to clean his body and was about to go to sleep afterwards. But on the nightstand next to his bed he saw there were some work documents that he still had not been able to finish. He looked towards the pile of documents then grabbed it, he looked at the contents of some important papers then he let out a tired sigh.

"I thought after the war was over there was nothing else I should think about, but the truth is... Some of the issues after that should be resolved immediately including about the transaction that should be done with Duke Zacard." That's what Leonard is thinking right now. But that was only part of the worry that Leonard was currently feeling. A glimpse of the shadow that was in the battlefield reappeared. His memory of the bloodshed in which many of the lives of his people were shaken by his decision to act a little careless and hasty until his own life was almost taken.

"When I was about to die I thought back to myself that I should not die on the battlefield and should return at any cost. Because I remember my promise to Louisse. And now I'm back to remembering what you said to me.... 'Now it's okay if you live without worry because here is not a battlefield.' So, can I really live a life like that? Somehow Louisse's words sounded like a student who had just been given permission to ditch his teacher. And I want to do that."

After what he said in his complicated mind, Leonard fell asleep in his sleep. He's really very tired.

Two days after that day, Louisse was gathering with the noble ladies for tea in his palace garden. And unexpectedly Anne her personal servant came with a box that was a jewelry box.

"Sorry Your Majesty... There's a gift from His Highness the First Prince for you." Anne said as she handed the jewelry box to Louisse.

"Hoho geez... His Highness the First Prince is very romantic." Said one of the ladies.

"Your Majesty, please open it immediately because we are all very curious about the contents." Said the other lady with sparkling eyes because she was enthusiastic to know what was inside the jewelry box.

"Haha... You guys are so excited, I'll open it." Louisse replied with a little embarrassment.

"Why did he suddenly give you a gift? Like he's not just her." Inner Louisse astonished.

When Louisse opened the jewelry box it turned out to be a beautiful necklace with a beautiful little jewel in purple. And all who saw it immediately widened with a look of amazement with the beauty of the necklace.

"God... That is very beautiful, Your Majesty. I think His Highness the Prince is really serious about choosing the necklace while thinking about Her Highness the Princess." Said a lady with a tone of admiration.

"Yes my... Should I break the imagination of all the ladies here by saying that there is no way Leonard has such good taste? There must have been someone else who helped pick her because Leonard's taste in picking jewelry was really bad." Louisse said in a heart that held back so that she did not open the flaws of her husband.

"My engagement wasn't very good at picking gifts, it felt like I wanted to get those gifts back." Complaints from one of the ladies.

"Ah I think I also want to say that Leonard is the same as his fiancee. Leonard will usually choose or choose the most expensive should the model look old or outdated." Inner Louisse who thrashed wanted to say that as well.

"But at least your fiancee chooses her own without telling anyone else. Unlike my husband who will tell his secretary even to the letter in it. My husband must have thought I didn't memorize it with his hands." I guess another lady.

Hearing the lady's story makes Louisse did Leonard also send a letter? And when Louisse checked it was there. The letter was tucked inside the box.

"Huh?? Apparently there is!" Louisse cried in his heart. Then Louisse opened it and read the contents of the letter.

"I just bought it because it looks beautiful."

It was the contents of the letter and consequently made Louisse laugh at himself while staring at the contents of the letter.

"Pff... She's really adorable." Inner Louisse while imagining the face of Leonard who was embarrassed if giving his gift directly to him.

"Ah Your Highness, is that a letter from the First Prince?"

"What's that? I also want to see Your Majesty."

The curiosity of the ladies made Louisse immediately drunk. If they all saw the contents, Louisse was sure the ladies would continue to discuss them even after they came home.

"Yeah... Secret love letter? Your Majesty are both truly romantic!" The lady-lady exclaimed and it really made Louisse a little embarrassed.

Flashback the day before....

Leonard went alone to the jewelry store with Pasha Noel one of his subordinates who was very understanding of the tastes of noble women in social circles.

"What about this one?" Leonard asked Pasha while pointing to one of the necklaces attached to the storefront manaken.

"The design must have been updated immediately after receipt." Pasha replied in a flat tone.

"Is it that bad?" Ask Leonard again.

"Yes it is certain and Your Majesty need not doubt my good judgment." Pasha answered with confidence.

"And I chose it based on the most expensive price in this store. Is that really that weird? And I like it because the big diamond in the middle of the necklace and also the chain looks stable because it is quite large. Hm... How ya?" That's the judgment that's on Leonard's mind.

As if to know what Leonard was thinking at the time, Pasha hastily broke what Leonard had in mind.

"Don't think of anything strange, Your Majesty... Whatever you think is not true. Ladies today prefer the design of small necklaces but look sweet like this." Point Pasha at the necklace with a beautiful purple gem.

"Did they really like models like this? It looks so easy to break up." Leonard asked a little doubt about Pasha's choice.

"Of course, trust me Your Majesty." Pasha answered without hesitation.

"Alright then, send this necklace to the Princess' palace immediately." Leonard's orders on Pasha without a second thought.

"Your Majesty, if you will allow me to give you one more suggestion." Pasha.

"Saran? What'sthat?" Leonard asked a little curious as to what advice Pasha meant.

"Tomorrow there will be a tea party at the Princess' palace attended by the noble lady. What if you send her tomorrow when the party takes place?" Advice Pasha.

"Hm... I think he'll definitely not like it if there's a present coming at his palace when there's an event." Replied Leonard who remembered how the character of his wife was.

"You're wrong! The good name of Her Highness the Princess will rise if she receives a gift from her husband when she is with other noble ladies. Her Highness the princess will be the center of attention there. This is one of the tips for a man to be a husband loved by his wife." Pasha said explaining it while stirring.

"I? Husband loved wife?" Leonard muttered with a face that suddenly blushed.
