For five minutes, Maxim was silent as he looked at the side dish on the table, which Gwen had just cooked. His face looked gloomy, the look on his eyes even looked withered.
"Kan, I told you, I'm not good at cooking! The only food I've ever cooked is water!" exclaimed Gwen irritated.
Maxim's lips twitched to utter words, but he held them back.
How can you call water food? The man's mind was irritated.
Maxim raised his head and looked at Gwen seriously. "Alright, then, I'll cook, while you handle the rest" the man said.
"Hey, I can't sweep and mop the floor either!" gwen protest. As much as possible, she had to reduce her clean rations in this slum house.
"The matter can still be arranged. At least not about cooking, so that your stomach and my stomach are safe" Maxim said honestly.
Gwen clenched her teeth holding back the upset. "Then, what do we do with these foods?" ask the girl, looking at the food on the table.
They could not give it to the neighbors, because the shape alone was very sad. From the start of irregular pieces, undercooked, and there are also blackened aka charred.
"Eat. God teaches us not to waste food. Remember, there are still a lot of people out there who are starving!" maxim's word is firm.
Gwen was about to protest, but the girl paused her intention, after hearing the last sentence that came out of the man's mouth.
The two took their empty plates, and began to move the side dishes onto each plate. As soon as the first mouthful entered the mouth, the atmosphere suddenly quieted down.
The two chewed the food silently, looking at each other.
The next second, both Maxim and Gwen immediately throw away the food in their mouths.
" ... However, there are things that are allowed not to consume certain foods ... We'll just buy food outside!" chirps Maxim.
...**********...
This is the fifth day Gwen lives in Maxim's house. Instead of being violent, Gwen is increasingly tormented by Maxim's orders. The girl felt like she was living in a military barracks rather than at home.
As a result of the physical work he did, his face and nails now looked broken. His palms even began to peel off, due to the cheap dish soapy water that Maxim bought.
Unable to bear all this, Gwen decided to act. He can't keep living there. The father must know his condition. He would understand, if he had seen it directly from just a telephone connection.
"I go to the store first. Don't forget to wash all the dishes, Gwen," Maxim said.
Gwen just nodded. She pretends to be engrossed in Maxim's cooking.
As the man exited the house, Gwen quietly got up and peeked out of the small window of the house.
"Yes!" pekik Gwen, when the husband's car had left the house. As fast as lightning the girl went straight to her room to pick up a small bag and purse.
Gwen let out a sigh of resignation, when she found only a few dollars in her wallet. Abraham had indeed blocked all access to Gwen's finances, since she was married.
"Hopefully enough, otherwise I can sell this ring!" exclaimed Gwen, while picking up the wedding ring embedded in her tiny finger.
Finished wearing a jacket, the girl immediately left the house. He even forgot to close the door and just left.
The distance from the village where Gwen lived to the highway was actually quite far. It takes about thirty to forty minutes on foot.
Although heavy, for the sake of returning to his mansion, Gwen willingly traveled on foot.
...**********...
"Thank you, Adrian," Maxim told a young man who had just finished delivering a stock order of fruit that had run out.
"Together, Max," Adrian answered. "By the way, when are you gonna bring your wife here? You've been married for almost a week, but she hasn't brought you here at all" the young man continued.
"He still has to adapt" Maxim replied.
"It's hard to marry a city guy?" Adrian said.
Maxim shrugged his shoulders high. "That's how." The man then patted Adrian on the shoulder. "All right, I'll call you later. Thank you," he said.
"OKAY. I'll go first." Without lingering, Adrian immediately entered his pick-up car and left Maxim's shop.
"Wake up yourself, Max?" greet an old woman of slightly fat stature, to Maxim.
"Morning, Miss Rosella. Yes, today I'm on my own." Without being told, Maxim immediately gave the empty basket to his regulars.
"Where did the new one come today?" ask Mrs Rosella, while confirming the position of her glasses. The woman placed the plastic groceries downstairs, so it was easy to sort through the fruit that was there.
"The apple just came. There's fresh pineapple in there too." Maxim took the two fruits and cut them to give to the customer.
Maxim is a good seller. If other traders only allow their customers to try certain fruits, but not with the man. He will be happy to give whatever fruit he wants to try.
"It's so delicious. Then I'll have a kilogram of this red apple. For the pineapple not before. Give the fresh clover instead of pineapple. " Mrs Rosella pointed to the watermelon fruit located behind Maxim's body.
Maxim nodded. Deftly he wrapped all the orders of the customer.
"Bonus to you, Mrs Rosella," Maxim said, adding a few fresh strawberries.
"You're always giving me a bonus, Max. What's not a loss?" ask Mrs Rosella.
"Of course not Miss Rosella," Max replied kindly.
Miss Rosella smiled. He held Max's shoulder and thanked him. Not to forget, the woman also said she could not wait to meet his wife.
"Surely your wife has a heart as good as yours." Those were the words spoken from the mouth of his regular customer, as they passed away.
Maxim just grimaced to respond.
Without waiting for long, the customers began to arrive. Maxim painstakingly and patiently served his customers one by one, before then, a twelve-year-old boy, ran through into the store.
"What's up, Josh?" ask Maxim.
Josh took his breath for a moment. "Sister Max, Brother's house is empty!" exclaim the boy.
Max frowned. "empty? There's my wife there."
Josh shook his head, while continuing to catch his breath. "So my mother was going to my sister's house to deliver food, but she found the house empty, with the front door wide open. There doesn't seem to be any whereabouts of Brother Gwen there!"
Hearing Josh's explanation, Maxim gasped. The man asked Josh to guard and close the store, when the customers were gone.
You stupid girl! Know what you know about this place! Inner man it is.
