27. A farewell?

Seeing Maxim's arrival, Lehder releases her giggles on Gwen. The man laughed again. "Hahaha, I never thought we'd see Major Eginhard again, or now I could call Maxim."

Maxim looked at Gwen. His heart was hot to find the condition of his wife.

"Lehder, you're supposed to be executed!" Maxim opened his voice coldly.

"Ck, ck, ck, too bad not Max. As you know, hukkum can sometimes be bought," he said loudly and confidently.

Maxim looks angry. Without saying anything more, he immediately ran towards Lehder. However, a dozen of Lehder's men quickly besieged Maxim.

A glimpse of Maxim's memory goes back to the events of five years ago. Back then he also had to face dozens or even dozens of people alone. While jasadd the brother lay not far from where he stood.

Maxim looked at Gwen once more. Although his condition was concerning, at least this time he saw both of his wife's eyes open.

Gwen shouted, as a man was about to beat her with a block of wood. Luckily Maxim was able to dodge and hit the man using his helmet. Maxim quickly incapacitated one by one Lehder's men. He doesn't even hesitate to catch them.

The frightened Gwen could only close her eyes.

Knowing his men had fallen, Lehder did not remain silent. He takes his piistool and points the gun at Maxim, and vice versa with Maxim.

"Give up, then I'll forgive you" Maxim said.

Lehder. "You're the one who should give up. You know, there are three important lives that you've taken first, while I'm only going to add one more person now. Maybe it'll break even if you come with me too!"

Maxim did not answer. He remained silent while on standby.

Gwen who had peeked, closed her eyes again as soon as they saw each other at sennjatta.

"You have lost only three lives, while the people here have even lost their entire family to your leader!"

Lehder stared at Maxim's ruthless eyes. "That's the cost of what they do here. This is my land, so, I have the right to do anything here!"

Hearing that Maxim laughed. "Don't make me laugh with your trashy jokes. You better follow them and say my regards to your chief!"

Lehder rose pitam. The man screamed and then threw his gun at Maxim, and vice versa.

Gwen, who was still blindfolded, was shocked to hear two eruptions. Gwen's body almost drooped, if only someone's hand didn't hold her shoulder.

"Max!" exclaimed Gwen, when she found the figure of the husband was fine. Gwen turned to Lehder, who was lying lifeless. Apparently the guy's bullet just scratched Maxim's arm.

As soon as Maxim finished releasing Gwen's entire bond, the girl immediately hugged her tightly and cried as hard as she could.

"Sshh, you're safe now" said Maxim softly.

Gwen nodded her head with her eyes closed. "I want to go home" she asked Maxim.

Maxim nodded. Just as he let go of his embrace, a splashing sound suddenly rang out from behind Maxim.

Gwen turns upside down when she finds Maxim speechless, then falls into her arms. Gwen's hands were filled with dignity as she held the man's back. Apparently, Jack was the one who caught it.

"Pe—go .. go!" maxim.

Gwrn shook his head. "No, I'm not leaving you! We're gonna get out of here together!"

Maxim raised his hand and wiped away Gwen's tears. "Go away" he asked again.

Gwen refused to answer. She just cries roaring, asking Maxim to hold on and not fall asleep.

Suddenly five strangers enter the building and immediately pull Maxim's body.

Gwen shouted loudly. The girl is trying to chase after those who took Maxim away in a black jeep. However, his weak condition made Gwen fall many times.

"MAX!" That was the last word that Gwen cried out before her consciousness disappeared.

"Gwen!" abraham looked when he saw the eyes of his only daughter open.

Gwen looked at Abraham's face with a blank look. The girl then went to and fro as if she was looking for something. However, he only found the figure of the father and Ronny there.

Gwen had apparently been unconscious for three days. He is now receiving intensive care at a hospital, which is in a big city.

"Max! Dad, where's Max?" That was a sentence that came out of Gwen's mouth, just after waking up.

Upon asking this question, Abraham's face changed. He deliberately diverted the conversation by asking Gwen the condition. However, Gwen insists on knowing Maxim's whereabouts.

"Master Maxim is still on the hunt." Instead of Abraham, it was Ronny who gave him the answer.

Gwen was shocked and cried. Abraham hugged her. "Relax, Maxim must be fine. We just need to trust the police and the military. They're trying their hardest to find Maxim's whereabouts."

From then on, Gwen lost her world.

Gwen turned into a quiet person. He doesn't even show any reaction when Abraham tells him that Ronny is Maxim's former (temporary) subordinate in the military just yet. The two then part ways when Ronny is reassigned elsewhere.

Month after month passed, until without feeling a year had passed. However, the change also happened to Gwen. Abraham even brought a psychiatrist home to recover Gwen's still shaken mentality.

However, this did not have much impact on Gwen. The only thing that can restore Gwen is Maxim.

The incident makes Gwen realize that a strange feeling has grown in her for Maxim.

Occasionally Gwen cried sobbing, remembering her treatment and harsh words to Maxim.

Abraham was frustrated. As a father, he also felt the sadness of the beloved princess.

"I'm sorry, Son. It's all for the good of you both."
