The Useless 8th Prince

The Useless 8th Prince
Reasons Why Wyverns Hunt

Ciel and Deschia continued to pass through the outer circle of the Blackwood Forest. Because it was so vast, it took some time to turn it around and head to the Frozen Cloud Mountains.

On the way, the two of them also several times chased away the waves of ferocious beasts. Until finally, today the two reached the feet of the Frozen Cloud Mountains.

“Down.”

Ciel immediately gave an order to Deschia. In fact he could have gotten to that spot earlier by passing through the center of the Blackwood Forest. Only, the young man felt uncomfortable if he had to meet a powerful being inside.

Although Ciel was not afraid, he had to save his energy to take care of the Frost Wyverns and what made them so ferocious.

Normally, the Frost Wyvern would not descend the mountain much except for hunting. There were even some types of creatures that the Wyverns could hunt at the top of the mountain range. There must be a problem so they get down the mountain to hunt for food.

Looking towards the steep cliffs and rocky mountain that pierced through the clouds, Ciel looked solemn.

“Actually ... what's there,” muttered Ciel.

Landing on the outskirts of the Blackwood Forest directly adjacent to the Frozen Cloud Mountains, Ciel immediately told Deschia to rest. In addition to bringing out fresh meat, he also prepared potions for Deschia to drink.

Since the Frozen Wyvern tribe could be considered Deschia's kin, Ciel did not want to commit a massacre. After all, they numbered in the hundreds or even more. Moreover, the adult Frost Wyverns were clearly at level 4.

If only I could find a way …

To Ciel, Frost Wyvern was a source of life power. If only it could be used as an army, they would have been very helpful. It might even be able to become better than the elite knights in the Royal Capital.

Merely, Ciel knew almost all Frost Wyverns had high self-esteem and were difficult to control. If he were to subdue them by force, the Frost Wyverns would only submit to him and could not be used by other knights. Which means not very useful.

Although it helped, Ciel did not want to appear flashy. Ride on the Black Wyvern's back and be followed by hundreds of Frost Wyverns without a rider. That kind of thing was too much for him.

After taking a short break, Ciel finally decided to set up a tent and make a bonfire. Rather than ascending to the Frozen Cloud Mountains directly, the young man chose to look at the situation first.

“What's up, Deschia?”

Looking towards Deschia who had stopped eating, Ciel then turned his gaze towards the black Wyvern staring.

Ciel gazed into the distance, where steep cliffs and dark clouds covering the sky were. Waiting for some time, nothing. But he still believed in Deschia's instincts.

Some time later, Ciel heard the sound of something cutting through the air. Not too long later, several figures pierced through the clouds and descended with extraordinary lashings.

ROOOOOOO!!!

Seeing the nine Frost Wyvern figures descending from the sky, Deschia roared. He turned his head towards his master with a determined expression.

Looking towards Deschia, Ciel nodded.

“Go,” said Ciel in an indifferent tone.

Hearing Ciel's words, Deschia rushed forward, jumped up and flapped her wings. The black Wyvern rushed flying towards the nine Frost Wyverns that were smaller than his body.

Apart from being level 5, Deschia has always been well cared for and trained. Compared to the Frost Wyverns in general, his appearance was clearly more fierce and ferocious.

Deschia darted quickly like an arrow that escaped from his bow. Raising both of his hind legs, he crashed into the Frost Wyvern that was in the middle of the row that was most likely the leader of the small group.

Two Wyverns collided violently. One black and one white with a bluish luster. From size alone, Deschia looks superior. Not just because of size.

Deschia's sharp claws tore through the opponent's Frost Wyvern scales. Scales that were usually difficult to penetrate by middle-class magic weapons.

Being hit and scratched by Deschia, Frost Wyvern on the other hand also did not stay still. The creature opened its mouth. A blue light emerged from his mouth, about to spurt a frozen breath into Deschia.

The Black Wyvern who realized it instantly bit Frost Wyvern's neck viciously. The two clawed and bit each other until they both swooped down together.

Looking at the two Wyverns fighting and falling together, the eight Frost Wyverns did not look to care at all. They behaved like dueling spectators.

BLARR!!!

Both of them hit the ground hard. The puff of acid soars high due to their heavy impact.

BLARR!!!

Not yet had the acid subsided, the sound of explosions was heard again. Looking at the ice shards scattered everywhere, Ciel knew that the explosion had occurred as a result of two ice breath attacks.

Ciel sat in the distance while looking at Deschia and Frost Wyvern on the other side attacking each other. Of course, it was because he believed in the power of the black Wyvern.

After waiting for quite a while, the Frost Wyvern on the other side finally collapsed. Not dead, but no energy to fight.

ROOARR!!!

Stepping on Frost Wyvern's body, Deschia roared into the sky. Moments later, another eight Wyverns descended and surrounded Deshia.

Seeing that, Ciel got up and was about to help. But before he went to rescue Deschia, the eight Frost Wyverns lowered their head toward Deschia.

Ciel was instantly stunned in place. Using the skill ‘Eye of The Lord’, the young man then raised the corner of his lips.

Eight Frost Wyvern level 4 (medium), plus one Frost Wyvern level 4 (late) .. obviously they are one of the strongest teams in the Frost Wyvern group in the Frozen Clound Mountains.

“Do you really challenge the leader of the group, Deschia?” mumbling Ciel.

Seeing that the nine Frost Wyverns were bowing to Deschia, Ciel immediately approached them.

Ciel's appearance among the Wyverns suddenly made the Frost Wyverns startled. They were about to attack him. But before the ninth Frost Wyvern advanced, Deschia growled. It makes the Wyverns confused.

Deschia then approached Ciel and rubbed her head against the young man's body.

Ciel smiled gently as he patted the black Wyvern's head. He then said slowly.

“Deschia, ask your friends why they got off the mountain and do such a big hunt.”

Hearing Ciel's words, Deschia immediately approached the Frost Wyverns and asked. Since the lazy Prince did not understand Wyvern language or beast language, he just waited quietly.

A little while later Deschia approached Ciel again. Despite not understanding the language, the young man knew what the black Wyverns were trying to convey.

‘The ruler of Frozen Cloud Mountains has awakened.’

Hearing what Deschia said, Ciel's expression became solemn. Looking up, he saw a high mountain range piercing through the clouds.

In stories and dongens, it was once mentioned that there was a dragon living at the top of the Frozen Cloud Mountains. They called it the Frost Dragon King. However, such an existence is only spoken of in fairy tales.

If it was real, usually the figure of an Emperor from the Black Sun Empire or another great empire would definitely seek out and try to conquer it. After all, the original Dragon race was extremely rare and powerful. It is said, they have high wisdom. Absolutely not inferior to high-level Devils.

Young dragons could immediately break through level 5, while mature, they were at level 6.

Not only that, if the Dragon had gained some enlightenment, it could rise to level 7. The level at which was referred to as the King realm.

Hearing the words Frost Dragon King, Ciel felt a little nervous. After all ...he had never fought an enemy above his level. Not to mention, an enemy that had crossed the level 6 boundary.

Looking at the dark clouds where the blue lightning danced, Ciel's hands clenched tightly.

“Interesting ... really very interesting.”
