The Useless 8th Prince

The Useless 8th Prince
Growing Too Fast

One month has passed.

On the training ground, private training ground troops are trained. In other words, the three shadow divisions, saw many knights lying on the ground while curling up in pain.

Not far from them, Ciel was sitting on a wooden block with a cup of hot chocolate in his hand. Around the training ground that was white because of the snow, there were a lot of black ice flakes. That's what Ciel did.

In this month, Ciel will train knights every afternoon until afternoon. What he did was simple. He had a hundred people march and then he would use ice magic. Creating a thousand ice balls, ten of them would be shot towards one knight.

At first almost everyone was hit flat in one wave. But after one month, the average person could survive five waves of attacks. That meant they could avoid or fend off 50 ice balls. Not much or little, but good.

After all, it was shot like an arrow, not somewhere like a snowball game. Can dodge and fend it off in five waves, that's fine.

Although the lowest or most survive on the fifth wave, there are good talents that can survive to wave seven or eight. Especially Theo, despite being the youngest, he actually survived at wave nine and fell at wave ten.

“He really makes me proud,” Ciel said before sipping hot chocolate. Seeing the knights rise up with a pale expression, Ciel said, “Next line.”

While sitting leisurely, Ciel really trained his knights well.

That's for Ciel. But to the knights in the three shadow divisions, they actually felt that they were being tortured every day. Provided nutritious food, potions every week, and enough money. With those three reasons, they could barely hold on. Yet they had already signed a slave contract with that Mad Prince, so they could only comply.

Most of them were amazed, too. In the two months of practice since the third month of autumn, they had completely changed. Their base became solid, a healthy body, mentally strong, and even they were taught powerful techniques like the knights in the Royal Capital.

Their strength now, if not for Ciel's help, they might not have been able to achieve it in life. More importantly, they developed a lot in just two months. They could not imagine their future achievements.

However, Ciel's words made them feel watered with cold water. He said ‘Of course you can be strong in the future, as long as you don't die on the battlefield. So I keep asking you to keep living. No one is allowed to die without my consent!’. In addition, Ciel also explains how dangerous the world is and teaches them not to be complacent.

Yes ... that's the lesson Ciel drew himself after his bitter defeat.

Aside from within the shadow division, the three major divisions were also developing rapidly. Although it could not compare to the shadow division, for the five Viscounts who were unaware of the shadow division, the three new divisions that Ciel formed were developing too quickly.

They thought it would take a year or two, and it was fast. But in two months, the strength of the three Ciel divisions had already nearly matched the strength of the forces formed by the five Viscounts over the years. That did not include Elena, Asterious, Jean, and the shadow division.

What made the five Viscounts even more depressed was, the entire new division that Ciel formed only contained the youngsters. Which meant, they could still develop far ahead of him. They were both amazed and envious.

The five Viscounts felt astonished and delighted at having such an extraordinarily capable leader. Yet they were also envious, feeling to have been overtaken and almost abandoned by the younger generation.

In the afternoon, Ciel was in a private practice room within the castle. In front of him, seen Theo who put up the horses while holding a sword with both hands.

Ciel was somewhat amazed by the boy who was several years younger than him. Now he had broken through level 2 (medium). It's a shame he was born a slave. If that brat was a noble son, although not as fast as Ciel, Theo could at least keep up with Zack's speed or a little more.

“If you are tired, you can rest, Theo. Don't over-exert your body.”

“I'm still not tired, Mister!” Theo said determinedly despite the sweat pouring all over his body.

Ciel shook his head lightly. After which, he suddenly disappeared from his place.

Theo's eyes instantly watched around with focus. But before reacting, he suddenly felt something in his stomach. Not looking down, he suddenly flew up and hit the wall hard.

“Working hard is good, but if it's excessive .. you will even damage your body.”

Theo tried to stand up while enduring the pain. He walked towards his fallen sword as he was being flown. Taking the sword, he approached Ciel.

“S-I can still-”

“THEO!!” exclaimed Ciel with a cold expression.

Theo lowered his head with a regretful expression. He just wanted to make Ciel happier with his development. The boy wanted to return the favor to the figure standing in front of him.

Ciel approached Theo and placed his hands on both sides of the boy's shoulders.

“You did your best. You are a good boy, many people will be jealous of your talent.

You don't have to overdo it, okay? As your Master, I am very happy and proud. So don't overdo it, understand?”

“B-Good, Sir!” theo said as he rubbed his eyes.

Ciel then released both of his hands. Instead, he put one hand on Theo's head and ruffled his hair. “Smart.”

Feeling the softness of the hands above his head, Theo who rarely received affection looked at Ciel with a happy and firm expression. To him, other than Master, Theo had regarded Ciel as his family ... perhaps, like a very reliable older brother?

“You can go back.”

“Good, Master!” theo said before bowing and leaving the room.

After Theo left, the friendly and warm expression on Ciel's face instantly turned bored. He looked at the ceiling while sighing deeply.

“I'm a real fucker. Utilizing such a plain brat for personal gain,” muttered Ciel with a heavy expression.

Actually, if Theo wants to live better, Ciel can let go and let him live a normal life. The boy will live more freely. Perhaps one day it will become one of the famous mercenaries in the continent.

However, Ciel instead wants Theo to be his weapon. A powerful weapon he could use against his enemy. In the battlefield, it was more dangerous than being a mercenary. Before it grew to become strong, it was possible that the boy was buried on the battlefield.

“He is strong, he is also growing quickly. Surely he can follow me to the end.”

Ciel closed his eyes.

“At the very least, as a master, my job is to train him and give his best for his development. With that, life expectancy will be higher.

That's a stupid thing, but ... at least, it makes me feel like I'm not that bad.”
