The Useless 8th Prince

The Useless 8th Prince
A Surprise

“Please bring your weapons, Mister!”

Hearing Camellia's words, Ciel turned to her with a gentle smile on her face.

“Aren't we just visiting the half-troll house? Isn't there already ten knights?”

“It ..”

“We are not in a dangerous place, ok?”

“But .. but I've heard that Trolls are pretty brutal, sir. I ...”

Seeing Camellia's worried expression, Ciel shook his head lightly. But he also obeyed the girl's will. After all, carrying a weapon is not too heavy.

“Good. I'll take him.”

“Thank you, Mister!”

Seeing the relieved expression on Camellia's face made Ciel once again shake her head lightly. He patted the girl on the head and then stroked her. He then went to get his sword.

Ciel took it and put on a black leather belt. After that, he hung his favorite sword there. The young man remained casually dressed without any protective armor, only carrying an additional sword.

Finished preparing, Ciel set off with Camellia and the village chief. As for the knights, he had them stay because visiting the Trolls was completely harmless. Walking for a while, the three of them finally arrived in front of the rickety wooden house.

According to the village chief, half the Trolls started living in the village about five years ago. At first many people disagreed, but the previous village chief let the person stay out of pity. The residents also agreed, after all, compared to the nonchalant city people, they still had a sense of empathy.

It is said the reason why half the Trolls did not welcome Ciel's arrival for fear of disgusting him. Despite not thinking so, the young man understood him. Again the issue of nobles and common people. What a shitty thing to hear.

Knocks! Knocks! Knocks!

The door of the wooden house was knocked on by the village chief, before long the door opened and a 180 cm tall figure appeared from there. The creature had a hideous face, a bald head, and was somewhat stooped. Ciel was quite shocked when he saw her. Trolls should be taller, but since it's only half a Troll, this is understandable.

“A-There is a problem what you .. call me, Sir?” ask the half-troll in a hoarse and raucous voice. He looked a bit confused and scared.

“Nothing, Gru. This is Prince Luciel. He is curious and wants to meet you.”

The half-troll named Gru immediately looked towards Ciel. Realizing that the young man in front of him was a Prince, Gru immediately kowtowed.

“S-Happy to meet you, Prince Luciel.” Gru said in a stammer.

“Build.”

Gru woke up and looked at Ciel with a doubtful expression. He was seen venturing to ask, “What ... Is there anything the Prince wants from this slave?”

Ciel's golden eyes slightly shone as he looked at Gru. A gentle smile appeared on his face. Then, the young man shook his head lightly as he replied, “I just want to see you.”

“M-Excuse this slave for not being able to entertain you, Prince.” Gru looks regretful and pale.

“I don't mind it,” said Ciel casually as he walked closer to Gru.

“Please don't get too close, Sir! That's dangerous,” said the worried Camellia.

“It's okay. I believe Gru won't attack people for no reason.”

Gru who saw the prince approaching looked doubtful. The young man watched him closely before finally tiptoeing to whisper something. Hearing Ciel's whisper, Gru's eyes instantly narrowed, a ferocious aura and killing intent emanated from his body.

In response, Ciel casually jumped back while dodging. A gentle smile was still visible on his face as he dodged Gru's punch. Instead, the young man raised his right hand while pointing at Gru with his index finger.

“Hellfire.”

With Ciel's brief remark, black flames enveloped his finger. In front of the index finger, a black fireball the size of a golf ball was formed. Although small, it made the surrounding temperature instantly rise by several degrees.

A black fireball was fired towards Gru's head, but surprisingly, the creature barely avoided it. The fireball only slightly grazed Gru's left ear before finally crashing into the wooden house behind him. A huge explosion was heard.

“Master!”

“Prince Luciel!”

Hearing the exclamation from behind, Ciel hurriedly said, “You guys back off!”

Meanwhile, Gru who saw his wooden house almost collapse stared intently at Ciel before running inside.

Looking at the panicked Gru, the corner of Ciel's lips lifted. He again used the black fireball to destroy the wooden house. The wooden house eventually collapsed and burned, leaving Gru buried in it.

“P-Prince!”

The village chief looked puzzled when he saw Ciel suddenly destroy the house and kill Gru. From his point of view, that half of the Troll was completely innocent. Suddenly provoking emotions and killing him was quite outrageous.

“You're back.”

Ciel said the same thing. Looking at the collapsed and burning wooden house, the young man's eyes narrowed. The sound of explosions rang out, wood debris flying, a black figure instantly leaping away from the flames.

Looking at the figure of Gru who had just come out from the flames, a shocked expression flashed across the faces of Camellia and the village chief. The half-troll's face and body were on fire, covered in wounds almost all over the body. Surprisingly, that Gru looked indifferent. There was a bow in his right hand, while in his left hand was a dagger.

In front of the eyes of the three people, Gru dropped both weapons then started ‘tearing’ his own skin. Through the disgusting process, the body in ‘kostum’ was revealed. Not a monstrous or disgusting creature, quite the contrary, there was such a beautiful and elegant creature.

Her black hair was straight and long, her blue irises looked beautiful like sapphires, and her skin was pale white. The creature has a beautiful face and a charming body. What is rather striking is his ears are quite long and pointed. Looking at the beautiful woman in front of him, a smile appeared on Ciel's face.

“A surprise! Turns out a Dark Elf.”

Seeing that the beautiful Dark Elves in tight black clothes were silent, Ciel again said, “Did this beautiful Dark Elf forget how to talk like a woman after too long wearing ‘costume’ half Troll?”

Instead of answering Ciel's question, the Dark Elf took his dagger and bow. After pinning a dagger on his waist, he immediately pulled his bow. Water condensed on his fingertips. When the bowstring was pulled backwards, an ice arrow formed out of nothingness.

Swooshes!

The arrow tore through the air when it escaped from its bow. The target is ... head Ciel!

In response, Ciel stopped smiling and pulled the sword at a speed that could barely be seen by the eyes. The sword instantly shattered the ice arrows, but the ice magic contained within it was still spreading, making the young man feel a little cold.

Looking at a woman prettier than Camellia or Isabella, Ciel clicked her tongue. The woman is indeed very beautiful, but the more beautiful the woman has the meaning of the more dangerous.

Will you feel love at first sight when you see a handsome man or a beautiful woman? That's possible.

But ... If a handsome or beautiful figure suddenly appeared in front of you and tried to kill you, would you still feel love at first sight?

Obviously, that's impossible!
