The Useless 8th Prince

The Useless 8th Prince
Visiting the Farm

“Is everything ready, Camellia?”

The morning of the next day, a modestly dressed but elegant Ciel walked out of the main building of the Castle. Behind him, there was a beautiful girl who was checking on a parchment in her hand.

“All needs have been prepared, Mr.” Camellia replied politely.

Looking at the front yard, Ciel nodded in satisfaction. A horse carriage and ten knights riding horses had been waiting for him there. Of course, those ten kstaria were the soldiers that Ciel had chosen and would develop.

The reason Ciel did not bring so many knights while traveling was because he would not go too far from Black Lily Castle. According to him, ten knights was enough. In addition, there is still Camellia who takes care of her daily needs.

“Have you guys had breakfast?”

“Already, Sir!” answer the ten knights in unison.

Although they knew that Ciel asked casually, those people did not dare to be careless. Not just strong, clearly their master had such good insight that he could tell the traitors within the ranks of the soldiers. They did not dare to be reckless and ended up being slaughtered.

“Then we will leave now.”

After saying that, Ciel immediately entered the carriage with Camellia. With six knights at the front and four knights at the back of the carriage, he and the group set off towards the village of Purple Cloud Village.

Purple Cloud Village was in a basin between several hills. There the land is fertile so as to produce large agricultural land. It was the largest farm personally managed by the previous Marquis.

Inside the carriage, Ciel looked at the scene outside the window with a bored expression.

“How long can we get to Purple Cloud Village, Camellia?”

“Compensate outside, most likely we will reach the destination tomorrow before noon, Mr.”

“Truly boring,” said Ciel.

Ciel and his entourage had just stepped out of Black Lily City. They continue to go south. Passing through two small towns, they finally arrived at a vast area of grassland. The sight of the horde of level 1 Demonic Beasts grazing in the distance made Ciel quite excited.

Isn't that Demonic Ox level 1? They look like oxen but are twice as big. Can't they be raised? Why don't the Devils try to raise Demonic Beasts?

After thinking about something, Ciel finally realized that such a thing was difficult to do. Demonic Beasts, even though they were level 1 and not carnivores, they were still relatively dangerous to ordinary residents. A horde of Level 1 Demonic Oxen numbering more than 20 individuals might be able to cause a disaster to a small village.

In the Demon continent, there were ordinary animals and Demonic Beasts. Ordinary animals, such as rabbits, chickens, cows, and so on can still be farmed and become the consumption of ordinary residents. Although it is said to be a Devil, in this world, the Devil himself is more like a human with horns, tails, or some other additional accessories. Unlike the Devil told in the books in Ciel's previous life.

“But raising a low-level Demonic Beast is not impossible,” muttered Ciel as he continued to ponder.

“Did you say something, Mister?” ask Camellia.

“Nothing.” Ciel shook his head lightly.

Their trip was quite smooth and stopped during the day for lunch together. At lunch, they ate bread, bacon, and some prepared fruit. They do not want to waste a lot of time cooking. After resting for about an hour and a half, they finally continued their journey.

On the next trip, they were a bit unlucky. Before entering the forest area, they met with a horde of level 1 Wind Wolf. Looking at the wolf pack that numbered more than 20 it made Ciel frown.

Although weak, the Wind Wolf horde was famous for their speed as well as cooperation. They are creatures that are avoided by novice bounty hunters. Looking towards the knight, Ciel smiled mysteriously.

Consider it a bonus. Training soldiers for free.

The knights who had been trained, with horses and the help of their equipment, completely swept through the first-rate wolf horde with ease. Seeing that, Ciel returned his snack with an expressionless face.

“Cih. Boring.”

Camellia glanced at Ciel with a curious look. He did not expect that his master had expressed much since he left Black Lily City.

“Do you feel uncomfortable, Mister?” ask Camellia.

“No. I'm just a little bored,” replied Ciel while shaking lightly.

The journey resumed until they finally stopped in the forest that was not too dense. Since it was already afternoon, Ciel and the group decided to set up a tent and camp here.

Location of course on the outskirts of the forest is not dense. The reason was simple, within the dense forest was quite dangerous and it was difficult to avoid an ambush. Meanwhile, in the grasslands it is dangerous because it is too open. Not to mention the wind or other natural conditions.

Ciel and the group set up four tents. One for Ciel, one for Camellia, and two for ten knights and charioteers. In addition, the ten knights were divided into two small groups. Five knights guard the first half of the night, the rest in the second half of the night.

There was no special incident at all. Besides being a bit difficult to sleep because it was a little cold and the base was quite hard, Ciel did not experience a tense fight or anything like that. Perhaps the most stressful is fighting mosquitoes that disturb their sleep.

Opening his eyes in the morning, washing his face and having breakfast, Ciel became even more bored. But he finally accepted the truth. Life-and-death situations, stressful adventures or something like that only happen in novels. It might also happen in his present life, but it definitely would not happen continuously.

After all, I'm not a great hero who thirsts for battle. Although bored, this is actually quite quiet.

Thinking of such a thing, Ciel and the group finally continued on their way.

Just before noon, they finally reached Purple Cloud Village. Looking at the wheat field that had not been planted for a long time, Ciel was satisfied.

“It's really wide. But there are some problems,” murmured Ciel.

According to Ciel, the agriculture of this demon race was a bit too ancient. Not only because of the tools used, but the planting system. The distance between plants, irrigation, and so on has not been paid much attention. Seeing such a thing made him unable to bear it.

Damnit damnit! Wasting fertile soil!

When Ciel and his entourage reached the village chief's house, it seemed that the residents welcomed his arrival in a friendly manner. They looked at the knights with astonished gazes. As Ciel and Camellia got down from the carriage, they were looked at with gazes full of adoration.

“Welcome to our humble place My Lord, Honorable Prince Luciel!” exclaimed the village chief with an enthusiastic expression on his face.

“Life Prince Luciel!”

“Long live Prince Luciel!”

“…”

Seeing the warm welcome that was so excessive that even the star-filled eyes of the villagers staring at him made Ciel feel there was a bewilderment. He was stunned on the spot while questioning something.

Am I in the wrong place? Am I mistakenly getting into a horde of cult cult cults?
