The Story of Clouds, Rain, and Sun

The Story of Clouds, Rain, and Sun
VI. Cloud Day

“Thank you, Mother and Little Sister. Enjoy and please come back.”

Teja gave a pick-up order to a mother and her child who were buying. He had just finished serving five consecutive customers who came to a small asinan shop owned by Pakde Marta and Bude Woro.

“Thank you. Very smart grandson, Sir, Bu.” Speak to the buyer to Pakde Marta and Bude Woro.

Pakde Marta and Bude Woro smiled. Teja, their granddaughter is very similar to her mother. Smart, friendly and helpful. Because Varsha was working overtime in his boss's studio chasing online comic deadlines and Bayu was still in college, Teja was left briefly at Pakde Marta and Bude Woro.

Bude Woro stroked the head of Teja, his beloved grandson. “Textions are not tired?”

“No, Eyang.”Answer Teja.

“Your tasks are all done?” This time, Marta asked.

“Already dong, Eyang.” Teja answered again with a smile raising her right thumb.

“Smart once grandson Eyang.”

“Hehe.” Teja laughed a little.

Seeing no more buyers, Teja picked up a book from her bag and started reading. Bude Woro shook his head to see his four-year-old grandson reading a thick book with small writings. Although no stranger to this view, Bude Woro is always amazed every time.

“Tejaaaaa..”.

Suddenly from outside the shop came the sound of Varsha calling Teja who was focusing on reading her book. Varsha just came from work. In his hand was a packet of marshmallows and a white plastic one.

“Pakde Marta, Bude Woro.”

Varsha went into the small shop and kissed Pakde and Budenya's hands. Then he handed the white plastic to Bude Woro.

“There are two cups of cendol inside Bude.” Varsha.

“Ealah. Thank you, Ndok.” Bude Woro said while serving the other glass for the Marta Pact.

“You just got home from Mario's studio?” Ask Bude Woro.

“Iya, Bude.”

“Where are your jobs and lectures, Var?” Ask Pakde Marta.

“Alright, Pakde.”

“Online comics that Mama does have always been a top 10 masterpiece on the platform, Eyang. And the value of Mama is all A.” Teja suddenly chimed in.

“This incredible nephew of Pakde and Bude yes.”

“That's because the online comic stories Om Mario makes are also very interesting.” Varsha Response.

“And because Mama does not want to lose to Teja whose value is always good.” He added again while tapping his baby's nose with one finger.

“Hehe.”

Teja's face flushed. He could only respond by smiling and scratching his non-itchy head.

Because the day was getting late, Varsha and Teja finally decided to go home to Pakde Marta and Bude Woro. They both walked towards the house. It is only about fifteen minutes walk from the shop.

On the way, Teja glanced at a pack of marshmallows her mother was holding. Every time his mother had to work late or come home late for college or other work, he would always not forget to bring home a pack of marshmallows for Teja.

Seeing the expression on her little son's face so radiantly looking at a packet of marshmallows, Varsha tried to hold back a smile. Finally, he nodded his heart slowly.

“Text wants to eat the marshmallow now, son?” Ask Varsha suddenly.

Teja seemed to think for a moment and shook her head. “Let's Mama, out of dinner.”

“Smart one child Mama.” Varsha smiled as she stroked Teja's head.

Both walked happily to the house.

***

Teja opened her marshmallow parcel and sat on the front porch. He just finished dinner with his mom and Om Bayu. After returning home, his mother had to cook first and only had a bath now. While Om Bayu was washing dishes in the kitchen.

A familiar sweet sensation greeted Teja as soon as she stuffed one marshmallow into her mouth. Since he first tried this chewy white cloud snack, he immediately liked it. He is not a fan of other sweet foods.

“Text?” Her mother's voice sounded from inside the house calling out to her.

“Iya Mama.”

Teja poked her head at the front door. Varsha smiled at the sight of her baby. Then he went to the terrace and joined his son sitting there.

“Teja... would you like to receive an offer from Akasa Game?” Varsha asked Teja suddenly.

Finally the question could be thrown out of Varsha's mouth. In fact, for two days he tried to avoid the topic. He still has to prepare himself.

But some of Surya's recent text messages that continue to mention Teja's reliability and advantages make it falter. He did not want to be the one to stand in the way of his son's success.

“Hmm.” Teja thought for a moment. “How about we make a list of pros and cons, Mama?”

Whenever Varsha is worried about deciding something, he always makes a list of pros and cons. And that habit also declined on Teja. The two will discuss and then weigh to decide the best outcome.

“Bby.” Varsha finally nodded.

“Before ya Mama.”

Said Teja who immediately darted into the house. Before long, he came with a book and a pen. Then he sat down next to his mother.

“Start from pro first?” Tanya Teja responded with a nod of the head from Varsha.

“First pro list. The salary offered is large..” Speak Teja with a voice that is getting slower and slower.

Varsha laughed a little. He knew his little son still felt guilty for not telling himself early on that he worked as a game tester to help pay for their living expenses.

“True. The income offered is huge. Very big even.”

Varsha finally nodded in agreement while touching her baby forehead. Teja held back a smile and began writing down the first reason in the pro table that she had made in her book.

“Both. Get training and lessons directly from one of the international Game Developer.” Teja tengat.

But that was also the main reason Varsha delayed discussing the offer of Akasa Game with Teja. He still feels heavy ‘share’ Teja with someone. Varsha was afraid that her little son would be too attached and close to Surya.

“Good reason.” Varsha said approvingly with a heavy heart.

Teja smiled then re-entered the reason for both into the pro table.

“Three. Get full scholarship to college from Akasa Foundation.” Teja.

“Even Teja may choose whichever school Teja wants as long as its grades meet the requirements for admission.” Added again.

“It feels like Mama doesn't have to worry about it, right?” Varsha LEDEK.

“Of course. Be smart like Mama.” Answer Teja without hesitation. Then he added the reason to his table.

Varsha chuckled as she stroked her son's head. The dimples on the two cheeks of the beautiful young lady appeared. Although only four years old, his little son already knew how to praise.

“Next. The fourth reason.. Mama no longer need to worry leave Teja with whom after school.” Said Teja while sweetly grinning.

Varsha shook her head. To be honest what Teja said was true. He always felt bad for Pakde, Bude, Paklik, and Buliknya every time Teja left them. Even though everyone always said it was okay, Varsha would still feel that she had troubled them.

“You are yes..” Varsha smiles while touching Teja's nose.

“Hehe.”

Teja smiled broadly showing her row of white little teeth. Then he wrote the reason into his table.

It does not feel the pro table in the Teja list is getting elongated. There are probably a dozen reasons in it now. Now there is only one thing that has not been touched. Counter table.

“Kontra... “ Teja started with hesitation.

“Mama seems to disagree that Teja joined Akasa Game..” Teja finally.

Varsha was a little surprised by the words of her baby. He did not expect Teja to be able to realize that even though he was trying to hide it. Varsha let out a long sigh then faced towards her son.

“If Mama does not agree even, instead there is only one con? Surely dozens of pro reasons beat one cons.”

Teja shook her head violently. “Tempu trusted Mama.”'s decision

“While the reason for the contract is only one, if it comes from Mama, it is like a veto in the United Nations. Whatever the reason the pro wrote, if Mama disagrees, Teja will not do it. Because Mama's opinion is most important to Teja.”

Varsha smiled faintly at the explanation of her son. Now her baby can even cite the privileges of the UN organization. Varsha stood up and squatted in front of Teja's bench.

“Tja wants to join Akasa Game, right?”

“But if Mama does not agree.”.

“Tja wants to learn more about game development, right?”

“But Teja need not do it with Akasa Game..”

“Same as Teja who believes in Mama's decision. Mama also believes in Teja.”'s decision Varsha said as she looked at Teja's eyes deeply.

Both hands held her son's face.

“Now Mama will ask Teja again and Mama wants Teja to answer him honestly.” Varsha responded to Teja with a nod of her head.

“Tja want to join together with Akasa Game?”

“Iya Mama.”

“Tja want to learn more about game development?”

“Iya Mama.”

“Smart son Mama. Tomorrow we will go to Akasa Tower to sign a contract with Akasa Game, okay?” Varsha said smiling.

Both of Teja's eyes looked slightly teary. He then nodded his head excitedly and hugged Varsha tightly.

“Thank you, Mama. Very dear Mama.”

“Sama-sama, Darling. Mama also loves Teja.” Varsha answered while rubbing the back of her little son.

Varsha then took Teja to her room and accompanied her until her baby fell asleep. As soon as Teja slept well, he slowly came out of his room.

Varsha then pulled the chair on the dining table and sat there silent for a while. Various thoughts flashed through his head. His feelings are mixed. Varsha took a deep breath and slowly threw it away.

He then walked to his bedroom. This room used to be Varsha and Bayu's parents' room. But since their departure, Varsha occupied the room. He then turned the key to a small drawer hidden in the closet. He used to see his father and mother put important things there.

Varsha then pulled the drawer, opening it slowly. A pen and a small paper tear were inside. The color of the pen was so beautiful and elegant, a blend of black and gold. If exposed to light, the black color will glow and turn dark blue with a flicker like seeing stars in the night sky.

Varsha took the pen and felt the initials on it.

Three different letters with gold.
