Chapter 9. Gathering

Loving it hurts, though,

better to love than to love.

After three hours of travel I finally arrived at the port, and thought of the journey to the place we had agreed upon together.

"Where are you? I've been where you asked." I asked Edi via text.

"All right, I'm still on my way." Reply to me Edi.

"OKs. I'll see you there." My reply to Edi.

I vigorously walked towards the angkot that was about to depart, then chose a comfortable seat in the angkot, and did not wait long for the angkot to leave.

Thirty minutes passed and I arrived in front of the place we agreed to, before I entered the Inn I bought food first.

"Excuse me Buk, I bought a serving of yellow rice, wrapped." I said to my mom who sells yellow rice.

"Well, just sit down for a second." Said the mother of the yellow rice seller to me.

"Where's Deck?" mother asked me while wrapping the rice.

"I just arrived from Buru Island, want to go to the sinister island but it's night, so I chose to stay at the inn." I answered while showing my face to the Inn.

"Oh. Alone huh?" the mother asked me back while handing me a packet of yellow rice

"Yes Buk." I said, lying to Mom, holding a plastic bag with a packet of yellow rice.

"Excuse me Buk." I said to Mother, then passed from her place of sale.

I headed to the inn and walked to the reception desk to reserve a room.

"Good night Brother" I said in a soft voice to an older sister sitting at the reception desk (the employee at the inn).

"Yes tonight, how can I help you?" ask the guard to me.

"I want to book a room, for one night." I answered the guard.

"I can ask for a KTP, to fill in the data." The guard told me.

"OKs. This is my ID." I replied while handing it to the receptionist.

"It's the key, the room over there, if there's any need to be able to come tell us at the reception desk." Said the guard while handing over the room key and showing me the location of his room.

"Yes, thank you." I answered him as I stepped into the room, to rest.

After I was in that room, I went to the bathroom and took a shower after that I ate.

Thirty minutes passed, while I was watching television in my room, suddenly my phone shook, it turned out that Edi called me.

"Hello, where are you?" I asked Edi.

"I'm ahead, you get off and pick me up, so I can get in there." Edi told me.

"All right, I'm down now." I stepped out of the room and down the stairs until I reached the main door of the inn.

"Hello, where are you?" ask Edi because I didn't see him.

"I'm beside the inn fence." Edi answered me and then hung up.

"I thought you didn't come see me." I said to Edi in a soft voice as I stepped towards the entrance.

"Don't talk about it here, after we get in." Said Edi to me while holding my hand walking in.

We passed some stairs and arrived upstairs, before going to the room, we usually passed the reception desk first.

When we got to our room to eat together, after that I asked Edi a few questions.

"What are you here for your mother?" I asked Edi in a quiet voice.

"I told you, there's business so I have to come here." Edi answered me.

"Oh.. Do you seriously want to forget about me?" I asked Edi in a soft voice while looking at his face.

"I'm sorry El, it's all my fault, I'm sorry you're away from me, it makes me helpless." Edi answered me while holding my hand tightly.

"Have you crossed that line?" I asked Edi with a hoarse voice and then shed tears.

"El, I'm sorry, if you knew what I'd done you would be so mad at me." Edi replied to me while tightly hugging my body and pleading with me.

"So right, you've crossed that line!?" I asked Edi in a harsh tone while shedding tears and letting go of his embrace

"I'm sorry El, everything has happened, I'm honest with you." Edi replied in a hoarse voice while wiping my tears on the cheeks.

"Don't touch me Edi, don't!" my words are full of emotions and mixed feelings.

"El, listen to me, I'm sorry." Said Edi in a hoarse voice while pulling my hand.

"So that woman who has made our relationship ruined like this? is she the one your mother approved?" I asked Edi while crying.

"I beg you not to leave me El." Edi said to me while on my knees hugging my legs.

I fell silent and tried to reflect back on all of his Mother's words and what He is doing to me now.

"Don't beg me, I'm not God who always forgives. I can't forgive you right now." I said to Edi slowly while wiping away my tears as I continued to drip.

"It's true that your mother didn't like me from the beginning, but why did you force me to stay with your family?" I asked Edi in a soft voice while sitting contemplating.

"It was El, and after that I accepted you to stay with us until you graduated college. And I already love you like her own Son, isn't that enough for all El?" edi asked me with a trembling voice.

"Edi, you're good to me, you're the one who's getting married to me?" I asked Edi back with emotion while crying.

Edi was only speechless hearing what I told him, having finished releasing my anger. The atmosphere in the room was silent no one spoke, and we finally chose to rest.

"Sleep so that your heart and mind are calm tomorrow morning we will go together to go home, lest you be exhausted." Edi said to me, rubbing my head and sleeping next to me, bounded with pillows and resentment mixed with anger.

"Based on the crocodile, caught still seducing, do not expect me to come back to you, I will not be fooled by you again." I said in my heart, then tried to sleep.
