The night was quite quiet and quiet, like the nights that had passed. Maintenance room with full facilities. There was someone in it, but he just mutely stared at the wife's face.
Nothing, a sentence of regret and apology, like before. He just kept waiting with great hope. Perhaps at that time, he would immediately kneel down and apologize sincerely.
Dave sat alone again, by the side of the gurney. As usual, Mr. Yus will come home, at night and make sure the food is prepared on the table.
Secretary Tian and Nadia, had also returned home. Tomorrow they will return and will likely stay overnight, with his daughter. Yes, Dave will do everything he can to get his wife out of her long slumber.
Dave twisted his body, staring at the food that had been prepared Mr. Yus. Actually, he was not hungry and not tasteful. But, he needed manpower, to accompany Arshila.
Just one spoon, get in his throat. He already felt nauseous. He could only forcefully push his food, with water. Then, go back to finishing the food, by force.
The door opened, Dave did not look at all. From his crisp voice, he could already guess.
"Mama, it's a wonder you can still swallow food."
Rachel passed her son, sitting by the side of the gurney staring at her daughter-in-law. So did Liam, who didn't say hello to Dave. Both of them, long time no see.
Arshila was lying down, with medical supplies attached to her body. His face was like a smile, his two eyes were tightly closed. Rachel felt pity and guilt for leaving her daughter-in-law. He thought their relationship had improved before he left.
Liam patted his wife on the back, as she rebuked. He was just the first time, seeing his daughter-in-law. Dave gets married secretly without telling his parents.
Liam left his wife, who was still sobbing holding his daughter-in-law's hand. He approached his son, who had finished dinner.
"You don't want to say anything to your father?"
Dave mute. His ego was too high, to hug his father. He was wrong and will try to make up for it. But, he did not want to be cornered continuously. Because, for him, it was too late. In fact, even if he wanted to kill him, his mistake would not just disappear.
"Father, won't blame you. Papa just wants to hear, what's the plan for your wife, when she wakes up?" continued Liam.
"I'll apologize and fix everything. I'll try to make amends" said Dave.
"What if he asks for a divorce?"
Dave looked at his father. I don't like that, with that word.
"I'll never divorce her!" hard, with full pressure.
"But, Papa thinks you should let go, and start all over again. If you still tie him to the wedding. Sorry, it's gonna be hard to get."
"I'm going to start over, with no parting." Dave's up. "I won't give up, even if it takes years."
He stepped out of the room. His anger was provoked, by the words of his father.
Sitting on the bench, many of which are found, in the hospital room. The night air, may be able to erode his anger, even if only a little.
Dave is always angry, when the word divorce, heard. She recalled how many times Arshila had asked for a divorce. Now the father, asked him for that. No, until any time, he won't do it.
He was determined to start over. To atone for all his mistakes, by any means. If he had to bow down, he would.
The night air, which pierced the bone. Dave's still sitting, making friends. Too much, which he had to contemplate and think about.
What if all of his efforts, end in rejection? What's he gonna do?
He admitted that his mistake was too big. But, he hoped, Arshila gave him one chance.
Dave is back in the hospital. His calmness was disturbed, with the presence of his parents. It was not that he disliked it, but listening to the same lecture and cornering it, making him uncomfortable.
"Sit. Somebody wants Papa, tell me!"
Dave said, watching the mother for a moment who had not moved.
"From tomorrow, Papa will take over the company. You focus on your wife's health. Actually, Papa was planning to punish you. But. Papa thinks you've got it now."
Dave was just mute. Well, this is a severe punishment for him. Waiting in uncertainty with the burden of mind and heart. The guilt and regret that had shaken his heart, was like carrying a large stone on his shoulders.
And this punishment, will continue until he gets an apology, from the wife.
But, what if, say sorry, it requires sacrifice? If it was just a treasure, he would make it happen.
However,
"What if he asks for a divorce?"
Deg.
Dave rubbed his face, how? Hows it?
He couldn't do it, just thought about it, he was like he was going to die.
"Pa, I'm scared!" Her tears are dripping. For the first time in his life, he cried in front of his father.
Liam hugged his son. As a man and married, he understood how his son felt at this time.
"Do you love her?"
"I love her. Loved her. My feelings are bigger than ever."
Well, actually Dave's in love with Arshila. But, his grudges and common sense did not allow.
"Do what you have to do to make amends. But, if he is not happy at all. Papa hope, you want to let go. And begin, from the beginning, as you first met."
"I'm not sure. If I take it off, it'll be hard for me to get back."
"Trust. You guys must be fooling around. You just have to try and prove that you really love him. Not because of guilt or regret. But, because you love her so much."
Dave tightened his embrace. His burden is slightly reduced. He felt calm and confident for a moment, his choice later.
Rachel who was watching them, looked back at her daughter-in-law.
"Wake, baby. Give my son a chance. Mama doesn't want to lose you. Please, awake!"
Hope Rachel, she wants Arshila to remain her daughter-in-law. Moreover, the presence of a grandchild in Arshila's womb, made her not want to let go.
His son is the type of man, who is hard to fall in love with. After her departure, Clarissa, she already had no hope, to have grandchildren. Dave now has Arshila as his wife. However, his initial manner and intention was wrong.
But, is it wrong, if he expects more? He wanted the opportunity to give his son. It's been too long, he's been waiting. If the son-in-law got away from him, maybe his hopes would be dashed again.
"Ma, home! Let me take care of him."
"No. Better, you go home. You're too tired. Let me and Mom take your place."
"But, Ma. What if Shila wakes up and doesn't see me?"
"That's what Mama expected. He better not see you when he opens his eyes. Perhaps, he'll fall back asleep, seeing your reddened eyes and your feather-filled face."
Dave glared, is now a good time to joke around?
"Listen, mother. Go home and rest. You need to, improve your appearance."
Father chimed.
