Ice on the riverbed

Five days since Alesse disappeared, police have not been able to find him. According to the clues from Alesse's found items, they suspect that Alesse deliberately put the bag down. There were no signs of violence causing damage to the bag.

Hendra and Andin are getting desperate. Five days was not a short time for a child to survive in such a wild forest.

To be sure again, Irawan finally went to where Alesse's bag was found. He tried to cross the shallow river and found something strange.

A stream seemed to be moving in a turn avoiding something. It was as if a large rock was coming. He also approached the flow that made the water appear to be poking upwards like a mound.

The river water was so murky that he could not see anything at the bottom of the river. After groping the bottom of the river, he was struck by something very cold at the bottom of the river. He was so shocked that he fell and fell.

"Why are you? Slip in the shallow river? How ridiculous!" said one of the police. "No! There seems to be something strange here! Try checking!" Irawan.

People were shocked to see a child wrapped in ice.

Alesse's family was called to the police station to watch the ice.

"Is that....is our child? Is that Alesse?" ask Andin to Irawan. Irawan asked him to make sure of it himself.

Andin walked over to the ice cube hesitantly. He immediately fell down after clearly seeing the frozen face inside.

"Why are you crying?" ask Alex to be astonished. The question made people astonished. As a child, Hendra thought that Alex did not yet understand what was really going on.

Finally Hendra closed his eyes so as not to see the face covered with ice. "It's nothing! You will wait at home! Dad and mom will take care of a few things" Hendra said.

"What about Alesse? Is he coming home?" ask Alex. Hendra was silent for a while, he could no longer hold back his tears. He just shook his head in response to Alex's question.

"Why? Why isn't Alesse coming home?" ask Alex to be astonished. "I'm sorry dad, your brother's gone, Alex!" Hendra.

"What does father mean? Isn't that Alesse at the table? Why is Alesse no more? Alesse is still at that table! He's alive!" said Alex.

"Not my son, he's stuck there, he can't play with you anymore" Hendra said. "No! Nah! Alesse is alive! He's still breathing! I can hear it!" said Alex.

"lex? Whatchu mean? Breathe?" Andin immediately rose as if hearing a hope.

"In the hard ice he should not be able to breathe" Irawan said. "No, I can still hear him breathing" Alex said, then approached the chunk. He showed me a hole near Alesse's cheek.

"A.. There is a wind that blows from within! It feels so much! He's still alive! Alesse is alive!" exclaim Andin. Even the unbelieving Hendra tried to check the hole. He looked surprised and excited.

"Alesse is alive! Our son is alive!" Hendra. Thinking the family was hallucinating, Irawan finally tried to check it out.

"This is, it's amazing! I didn't realize it since!" Irawan directly examined Alesse's chest from the side. There's a gap between the ice and Alesse's chest, which is what has allowed him to breathe.

"Looks like he's okay! Looking at the color of his lips, it looks like he has hypothermia! We need to get rid of this ice!" Irawan.

"How'd it go? Should I get a hammer?" he asked Hendra he looked panicked. "No, if this ice is hit by vibrations, the broken inside could hurt Alesse! We have to melt it!" Irawan.

Finally the ice was taken to a heating place, they set the temperature in the room and put the ice into it. Minutes later, all the ice covering Alesse melted, he was taken to the hospital for a check-up.

"The fact that this child is still alive despite being encased in ice is a miracle! How do you realize that? If it was too late, maybe this child would not have survived" said a doctor.

"He who realizes this doc, he saved her" Irawan said while lifting Alex's body, he deliberately did it with the intention of being able to touch Alex's feathers.

The doctor removed his glasses in astonishment after seeing Alex. "This kid? Elementalist?" ask doctor. Alex looked terrified at the doctor's gaze, he jumped on his father's back like a cat.

"Hey, Alex! Not polite!" hendra Tegur. "I'm sorry for our son, he's so scared because a lot of people like to chase him" Andin said. Alex looked glum upon hearing his father's reprimand.

"It's okay. It is natural to be wary of strangers! You're gonna be a strong, brave boy!" the doctor then stroked Alex's head.

"So, what's my son's condition?" ask Hendra. "The fact that he can survive in the ice is a very remarkable thing. Unfortunately, there was trauma to his brain. We do not know what the cause is because there are no injuries that make the condition like that. He can't wake up yet for now. He is undergoing a vegetative period" said the doctor.

"When will he wake up?" ask Andin. "We don't know for sure. The case is very rare. We also have to learn this," the doctor said.

"We beg you for help, Doc! Please heal my son! Please get my son up as soon as possible!" pinta Hendra's.

"Yeah, for the problem to heal or not it is not me who determines, I can only try my best so that he can recover faster," said the doctor.

They are relieved to find and save Alesse. Police also closed the case as an accident caused by the Abyss crack. They finally made a new barrier on the edge of the river so that no one else would be harmed because of the dangerous place.

The case of Alesse's disappearance continues to be kept secret so that no one knows except the police, Irawan, hospital, and Alesse's family.

Time continued, but Alesse did not wake up. His family continued to visit him, hoping he would wake up one day.

Two years later, the boy lay there. His family did not know if he was dead or not. The boy hasn't changed at all. Not getting thin or getting fat. It's like a stuffed doll lying stiff on a couch.

Andin looked too tired to visit the boy every day. Sometimes he kept waiting for her with a pale face, occasionally crying, and Alex carried her and brought her home.

Since those two years, Alex's growth has been very fast, he has surpassed Alesse and now looks like a teenager. He was even strong enough to carry his mother home.

Unfortunately his rapid growth was not witnessed by Alesse, his own brother. Of course it makes him sad.

Eventually the doctors gave up, and they had no solution to wake Alesse up. Because they felt uncomfortable with the money that the family continued to spend to finance hospital bills, doctors finally gave them a choice.

"It's been two years, even though you can pay the hospital bills. But this doesn't feel right! I feel guilty for not being able to provide good treatment, but you guys keep spending money. We gave up and gave you a choice. Are you going to let go, or will you continue like this, waiting for a miracle? We can't do anything more than provide supplies for his treatment" the doctor said.

"What do you mean doc? We will not let go of our son! Please doc! Save our son!" hendra said, he even knelt before the doctor.

"Pardon us Mr. Hendra, we tried our best, but did not find a solution" said the doctor.

Alex, who heard it, cried immediately, he approached Alesse, hoping he would wake up soon. Irawan who continued to visit Alesse also seemed to have given up, he even turned around and came out of the room.

"Alesse wake! Look at my face! Now I'm big! I'm not afraid to go outside alone anymore! Now I'm in 5th grade! Just like you!" said Alex. He held onto Alesse's hand which felt colder than his.

At that moment he felt the blood circulation moving throughout Alesse's body. "It's... It's so weird!" alex said, he tried to concentrate by closing his eyes.

"What's Alex doing?" ask Andin. "Once again, I could suddenly feel the flow of blood in Alesse's body.

"There's a hampered!" exclaim Alex. "What? Blood circulation? Where's where?" ask the doctor, curious. "It's not a blood circulation. It's like something shocking, something shiny, it's like electricity!" said Alex. "It's a neural network! Can you tell me which part it is? Maybe I can handle it" asked the curious doctor.

"It's so weird! It seems like both of his ears were once hurt! This is no ordinary wound! It's a huge wound!" said Alex.

"How do you know things like that?" ask doctor. "I've seen him. If a person is injured, then something grows to repair that injured part. Of course the age of that part was younger compared to the other part!" said Alex.

"Oh, you mean definitely cell regeneration! Cells will regenerate automatically when someone is injured. They will form a new network" the doctor said.

"So, Alesse's ear was ever hurt? When's? He never complained to us" Andin said.

"This looks like a new wound" Alex said. "No way! We've scanned the whole body, but no part has suffered serious injuries!" said doctor.

"It seems like it healed instantly! Like my wound, it will heal in a few seconds! Looks like Alesse is also an Elementalist!" exclaim Alex.

"Be...really? Alesse?" Hendra doesn't believe it. "We're back to the discussion! Where's the obstructed neural network?" ask doctor.

"I don't know where exactly, but it looks like I can fix it!" said Alex. "Ba... How is it?" ask the doctor astonished. "I just need to change the shape, they look like threads that are connected to each other! I can make one just like them!" said Alex. He also began to concentrate.

A green light appeared from his hand. The light spread to Alesse's body and began to center on the head.
