Chapter 14

Chapter 14

On Saturday.

Manner tells Dygta to go to Brinsham. Dygta is delighted to learn that they are going to Brinsham. He ran around to get his coat. Dygta wore the drilled clothes he wore when he came to the Peters family's residence for the first time. Although Manner frowned seeing Dygta wearing his jacket a little smaller than his size, Manner did not comment on his appearance. Once in the car, Manner insisted that Dygta wrap his legs in very thick socks because the strong sea breeze hit this time was very strong, he said, and it can make the body shiver so cold.

That afternoon, actually the weather conditions in the sea were very calm, and did not make the skin feel cold when in contact with the sea breeze, but Manner was very attentive to Dygta, afraid that the girl felt cold and shivering.

Manner parked his car in the parking lot, then they headed to the dock on foot. Dygta stood close to the beach wall while breathing in the sea air mixed with Manner's cigar smell. They enjoyed the moment quietly, knowing each other as friends.

They were shocked when they heard voices muttering behind them.

"I love the waves of the sea, the wind and the storms. Almost everything that the universe created and probably not tainted with human hands."

The two men turned around and faced Constan who was still sucking his cigar. Dygta spun more slowly and clenched his hands inside the coat pocket.

"If you chant a poem, Cons, I'm almost gobsmacked by what you read, because I believe when I hear that you do it wholeheartedly."

Constan laughed in a dim light, so his face looked faint. Netra Constan let out a light and looked towards Dygta.

Without further ado, Constan immediately said to Dygta.

"Thank you for helping my dog, Dygta. I was told that you brought him home."

"What sash are you? Did you turn out well just because of your dog I saved?"

"I'm much better. Tomorrow I'll pick him up to take him home with me."

Dygta was simply sympathetic, forgetting his habit of holding back when facing Constan. "He is a submissive animal."

"Yes, you're right, he's a submissive animal" Constan pointed out a broken nasal bone. "It could be worse. Jess Hold said that if she gets an infection, I'm sure I'll lose Banker. I really hate that. He was my best gift when I played a drama, 'The Peters Banker'." Constan smiled displaying his white teeth. Looks neat and aligned teeth there.

"Banker's name is strange to a dog, but when the drama was very successful, I kept that name on him. Banker loved chasing kids to play with him, and he mistook you for a kid the first time you met him at Peters' house" he continued.

"Oh, it makes perfect sense that he could make such a mistake" Manner said deliberately suppressing his words.

Constan smiles. "That sounds like you're very sensitive tonight, Manner. I thought you needed a drink. How about we go back to Toby's Parlour. There's some kind of pasta. The owner of the house, his son got married, and Limin and I stopped by just to have a drink there, but Limin and I were like attending an impromptu party. He plays the piano there. Unfortunately, he was caught in a party. As for me, out running away to calm my complicated thoughts about marriage. Alright. Come on, let's go back there!" Constan immediately grasped Dygta's arm and pulled it.

Toby's Parlour, a restaurant and bar located overlooking the pier. Upon entering the place, it was full of laughter, screams, and people singing. Dygta saw Limin playing his classical piano there.

Constan looked at Limin and the bride standing beside Limin, "How happy the bride is, How much love there is in her eyes. All the parties are spent dancing and drinking."

"Why are you so? Didn't you enjoy it?" ask Dygta.

Constan only raised one of his eyebrows. "Maybe something I saw made me like that" Constan replied.

"How come? Just a few seconds ago you were saying rhymes" Dygta said. "You also say that you like all the nature that nature creates and that's natural."

At that moment, Manner came carrying a tray containing drinks, then he passed through the boisterous crowd. He put it on his blonde head. The cigar pipe remained attached to his lips, still billowing.

"Really crammed here. Full of humans. I asked Cointreau*, but I'm sure it must be for the others."

"Originally not a foul-smelling drink" Constan said as he picked up two glasses.

One was given to Dygta. Dygta's hand trembled as he held the glass. He heard Constan laughing being held back.

"He he, what an underpowered little hand," Constan mocked. "Don't you spill that precious water, especially after Manner painstakingly brought it here. Manner, this is a little red. Is this port*?"

"You should not be surprised by that. Is this place always crowded like this?" ask Manner.

"Now there is a wedding. And it should be crowded" explained Constan with a flat face. "You know, Toby's Parlour's one of the smallest places, if there wasn't a marriage like it is today. This place is comfortable when it is quiet. Limin and I come here often to pass the time. And you know, Limin loves sitting on that barrel in that bar."

Manner looked at Limin with a gawking gaze until his cigar pipe almost fell.

"His wife, if my secretary breaks her hair like that, she's very pretty, Cons. And he just does it with you. I knew Limin for four years and worked very hard together. But I never imagined him sitting in front of a crowd and facing a classical piano in a bar. He also played it to accompany people who sang short songs at weddings" Manner said.

Constan looked at Limin, but Dygta's cheek turned red.

"Are you willing to donate a song to my wedding, Manner?"

Manner looked at his cousin like he didn't know what to do. "Of course you're not serious about this, are you, Constan?"

"What do you think?" ask Constan.

"I really don't know. Limin is so beautiful and so amazingly attractive. And I think she's fit to be the perfect wife for a successful actor like you, Mr. Constan."

"Why do I feel like there's something lacking in the sentence you're saying?" constan railed. "Did you just look at me as an actor?"

"Isn't it like that?" manner laughed with amusement.

"Cursed you. I shouldn't be like that!" For a moment Constan's eyes stared at Manner. "Maybe I'll bring you a drink for Limin. Poor thing he can't get away from that classical instrument."

"Oh, yes, Manner, how much do I owe you for a drink?" ask again.

"Forget it. Let's just say it's a treat from me for you. I haven't enjoyed worldliness in a bar like this in a long time" Manner said.

...****************...

Cointreau and port are a kind of alcohol, huh.
