Chapter 51: A Journey to the Hill of the Void

After their preparations were finished, the little concubine with prince Xiao San made a journey towards the void hill. They went together using the best horse carriage. With careful preparation they travel smoothly. They headed for the hill of nothing but three without any troops left to accompany them. It was indeed very painful because they had to feel a sense of loss because of their troops being killed by their enemies. Along the way the little concubine looks more reserved than usual. He rarely smiled and always had an empty look. Sometimes prince Xiao San saw little concubine Xixi just daydreaming with a flat face. Despite trying to hide all his feelings, the prince could still see the sadness of his little concubine.

That day in the middle of their carriage ride was broken. They stopped their journey and rested in a small forest. While waiting for the repair of his horse carriage, little concubine Xixi took Xiao Jiwu around exploring the small forest.

"Prince, may I take my little son to play there?" ask the little concubine slowly.

"Hm, go have some fun. I'll fix this wheel." said the prince softly.

The little concubine carried her son while going around looking at the scenery in the small forest. The little concubine saw a small river next to which was a blooming peach tree. There are a lot of peaches on the tree that look very fresh. The little concubine approached the tree and picked some peaches to take home.

"Do you want a little son" asked the little concubine .

Xiao Jiwu who seemed to understand the words of the little concubine, chuckled and moved his hands and feet like someone who was happy about getting something.

"You like it a lot" said the little concubine smiling.

The little concubine gave the peach to be held by Xiao Jiwu. The little concubine continued walking through the small forest and saw a small garden with many chrysanthemums. The little concubine loved the flower so much, she walked up to him and sat in the middle of the garden. The fragrance of the flowers made his heart feel more comfortable. He picked some chrysanthemums and stored them in his bag.

"Hm, I will make tea from this flower for the prince" said the little concubine as she smelled the fragrance of the flower.

After being satisfied sitting in the flower garden, he walked directly into the forest. There he found some small white-haired rabbits running around. The rabbit was so cute it caught Xiao Jiwu's attention. Xiao Jiwu revealed a sumringah expression face when he saw the rabbit. The little concubine ran around trying to catch the rabbit. The little concubine and Xiao Jiwu laughed happily while trying to catch the rabbit, they chased after the rabbit and finally got caught.

"Do you like it, little boy?" asked the little concubine while bringing the white rabbit closer.

Xiao Jiwu laughed and moved his body, a sign he liked it so much. The little concubine smiled widely, she was very happy to see her little son laughing happily.

"Let's go back to dad. Perhaps the carriage was already repaired." said the little concubine softly.

After a long hunt, finally the little concubine brought a lot of hunting. In her bag she keeps fresh peaches, fragrant chrysanthemum flowers and cute white rabbits. Both were very happy after a great hunt. Eventually the two returned to their horse-drawn carriage. They saw the prince who had finished repairing his chariot.

"Has the prince finished?" ask the little concubine.

"Hm, it's done. We can continue the journey again." said the prince as he examined the state of his horse.

"Eat first. You must be hungry. I'll make you some warm tea. Tonight we will rest for a while." said the little concubine as she gently rubbed the prince's cheeks.

"Hm, alright." said the prince and received the peach.

"Have the prince been full?" ask the little concubine gently.

"Hm, I can no longer afford to eat it all" said the prince, patting his stomach

The little concubine smiled. After dinner, the two sat together in front of the campfire to warm up. They sat together while enjoying this quiet cold night. The little concubine hugged the prince's waist and leaned her head on the prince's shoulder. Tonight she looks very spoiled to her husband. The prince replied to that spoiled attitude by putting his hand on the shoulder of the little concubine. She gently rubbed the head of the little concubine who was leaning on her shoulder.

"Prince.." call the little concubine without turning his head.

"Hm, what's the little concubine?" asked the prince while holding the hand of the little concubine affectionately.

"I just want to be with you all night." said the little concubine as she stared at the prince's face.

"I will always be by your side for as long as you want." said the prince softly.

The two looked back at the bonfire and leaned against each other while enjoying the beauty of the moonlight tonight. The little concubine only wanted to feel the calmness with the prince before reaching the void hill. He wanted to relax with the prince tonight, even if only for a moment.

"Is there anything you want to tell me, little concubine?" the prince was worried.

"Hm, there's no. I just want to be with my husband tonight." said the little concubine, holding the prince's hand tightly.

"I don't know what you're thinking. But all I know is that I'm here for you two. I will not let your heart feel alone. I don't want to let your feelings get hurt." said prince Xiao San gently.

"Hm, I know that. Prince is the best husband. I'm very lucky to have a prince." said little concubine Xixi and hugged her tightly.

Even though a tree is always hit by strong winds to drop its leaves. Although the tree is always hit by heavy rain to break its branches. The tree will survive until it produces fruit. Similarly, the little concubine, though her life is always plagued with endless trials and trials, still she believes her husband and son will always be the cure.

"I love you" said prince Xiao San, smiling.

"I love you too" said little concubine Xixi smiling.

Prince Xiao San kissed the little concubine Xixi's forehead gently. She looked at the little concubine with longing and love. The little concubine returned that gaze affectionately. The two joined hands and leaned against the full moonlight.
