Chapter 4: Meeting Under a Peach Tree (Part 2)

Finally, until adulthood prince Xiao San has not been able to read. The emperor deeply regretted not being able to give his best to his beloved son.

The prince continued walking towards his residence. The prince preferred to stay in the small palace behind the western palace, rather than having to live together with his evil cousin in the western palace. Prince Xiao San was like someone who was isolated within the palace. He lives alone and lonely. He had never asked the emperor for anything in his entire life.

That night, the prince with the emperor and his father's family sat down together for dinner. They talk like faithful brothers. The prince was used to the hypocritical behavior of his uncle and cousin. What the prince can do. He who is weak cannot reveal all that.

"Greetings of the emperor and the princes. Forgive this sassy servant. I just want to deliver a sweet cake from this peach." said the girl.

The prince was surprised to hear the girl's voice. His voice was not unfamiliar and even still remembered him. It was the voice of the palace attendant who had helped her. Prince Xiao San was very happy to hear the girl's soft voice again.

After dinner, it was not as usual. After everyone left, the prince still sat sweetly at the palace dining table. The emperor who saw the strange behavior of his beloved son was very curious and immediately approached him.

"What's my son? Is there anything you want to talk to your father about?" asked the emperor while holding his son's hands gently.

"Dad emperor. Can I ask you something?" the prince hesitated.

The Emperor was shocked to hear his son's words. Just this time his son asked him for something and it made him very happy as a father.

"Tell me what you want" said the emperor sternly but looking happy.

"May I ask one of your court ladies as my personal palace?" said the prince with a shy head and did not dare to look at his father.

The emperor laughed loudly. She was so happy, her son started to open up. Unknowingly in that laughter, tears of happiness trickled down on the emperor.

"Of course my son. You ask for this entire palace lady even though, I will give it my all to you." said the emperor happily as he hugged her tightly.

"No emperor. I don't need any of that. I only want one." said the prince firmly.

"Eunuch Li, gather all the palace ladies right now." the emperor unhesitatingly ordered his trusted eunuchs directly.

Eunuch Li managed to gather all the palace ladies and lined up in an orderly manner. The prince approached the palace lady one by one and told her to speak to him. Because the prince who could not see anything, only recognized the girl through her voice.

The prince personally approached the palace maids, but after almost 4 hours of searching for her, the girl could not be found. The expression on his face instantly changed, the smile on his face instantly disappeared and only disappointment was in his heart. Though before he was very sure that the girl was in this palace, but already the entire palace lady was looking for her, the result was in vain.

"Have you made my son's choice?" ask the emperor gently.

The prince simply lowered his head and disappointedly shook his head. The emperor who was smiling happily saw a smile on his son's face but now he was sad to see the smile on his son's face that suddenly disappeared again.

"Eunuch Li, is this all your palace ladies?" ask the emperor firmly.

Suddenly one of the eunuchs whispered to him and said that there was still one more palace ladyboy, but the palace came so young and so mischievous that it was not allowed to march on the palace.

"Pardon the servant of the emperor, there was still one more palace ladyboy. But this palace lady was different from the emperor. Servant was afraid that he would not be able to keep the prince." said eunuch Li trying to explain.

Hearing Eunuch Li's explanation, the prince's face smiled back. He very much wished that the palace lady was that girl.

"Bring him here eunuch Li." said prince Xiao San firmly.

Eunuch Li told his men to bring the palace ladies. After the palace lady was present, the prince unhesitatingly walked over and greeted her.

"Hamba here prince." said the girl softly.

Hearing that soft voice, the prince was very sure that she was the girl. Prince Xiao San pointed at him and asked the emperor to allow him to take him to his residence. Emperor Xiao Ge was very pleased and gave permission to bring the palace lady to his residence.

Finally the palace lady-in-waiting helped the prince walk to his residence. The prince with a face full of smiles walked side by side with the palace lady. His heart was very comfortable when walking side by side with the girl.

"We've reached the prince. The prince should rest." said the girl.

"Wait a minute" said the prince, trying to restrain the girl's departure.

"May I call you by the name of xixi? Can we be friends?" the prince asked while holding the girl's hands.

"Of course the prince. The prince should rest." said xixi softly.

Xixi tried to help the prince change his clothes and prepare his bed. Before leaving he helped the prince lie on his bed.

"Does the prince want to listen to a story before going to bed?" ask xixi gently.

The prince lay on his bed and listened to xixi's soft voice while telling a story. In that voice there was warmth. The prince was very comfortable listening to the story and slowly began to close his eyes and finally fell into a deep sleep. Xixi was very happy to see the prince was already sound asleep.

"I will always be by your side. I'm here for you. I will protect you." said Xixi gently and enveloped the prince while gently stroking the prince's head.

The touch made the prince smile in his sleep. That night was really warm. The prince comfortably fell asleep until morning without any nightmares or restlessness in his sleep. He really just felt the calmness of heart for 15 years of his life. The girl really changed herself. Makes him excited to live.

The sound of birds chirping and the morning light touching his face, made him wake up from his deep sleep. He opened his eyes slowly and with a sweet smile on his face gazed towards the ceiling which looked slightly more radiant in the darkness. His life was very dark and nothing was seen. At this moment he actually felt a speck of light that made his life brighter. The light was able to make his heart stir and encourage him to stay alive with great hope.
