The Destruction of Batana

The Destruction of Batana
BIONIC 5

I grinned. Look at what I've done. I stared at my right hand that was shining brightly with a beautiful orange color. The audience was silent while time was still running. Even the host went silent. Escort music turned off. The lights highlight right in the direction of the figure that is now being knocked down.

The referee starts coming at him and gives a countdown. But the count came to a halt as soon as the figure moved and tried to bounce back. His right hand looked broken with a hint of smoke billowing. Former impact from internal energy. It seems he will not give up.

As soon as he perfectly got up, I went back to preparing by putting up the horses. There's three minutes left. It's just a matter of who does the most attacks. At least I should attack him more. I did not waste this opportunity and ran towards him. Thanks to the internal energy centered at my feet, I was able to move more freely. The figure was waiting for me. As soon as my hand started to touch her, she moved faster and took a sweeping kick towards my leg. Since his feet are not bionic feet, of course he can get burned by my feet which are giving off heat. But he wasn't aiming at the tip of the foot, but at my knee. My balance was disturbed, making me topple to the side. I try to get back up as soon as possible. The figure jumped up and tried to attack towards me.

I focused all the internal energy on my right hand which was emitting smoke. And then put it in his direction. Our boxing is clashing. But the results are easy to guess. Of course his iron hand was unable to withstand the heat and power of my bionic hand. His iron hands were shattered and he bounced back. Hit the wire fence. Smoke billowed around the arena. Make the camera does not have time to capture the momentum that occurs. Once the time had run out and the smoke started to dissipate, the figure appeared to be motionless.

Silent moment. I heard a drone approaching towards me. It's right at me.

“This, this is beyond expectations! The winner is the Beginner Challenger! He managed to beat successive champions in this match!” The host exclaimed loudly.

The referee came towards me and raised my hand. The audience was still made to not believe what they had witnessed. A few seconds later they all clapped and the crowd burst into applause. Near me started a hologram of comments and money coming in. I really don't need that money.

But now the camera is pointing towards the figure. He tried to get up with a scuffed state everywhere. His right hand was destroyed. The medical team immediately ran up to the arena. But as soon as he perfectly got up, his mask started cracking.

Once next to the mask cracked, even though only a glance I could see his face. She's a girl! No, he's the guy I know. The figure quickly covered his face with his left hand. The medical team brought a cloak to cover it.

I gasp. I clearly recognize that face.

“Really beyond expectations! This time, I made a lot of money from the game! Thank you to the audience who have donated so that this event continues to survive. Alright, since this is an incredible moment and the audience managed to be made tense with their fight, I will do a little interview on this new challenger.”

The host approached me and embraced my shoulder. “How do you feel that you have won this match?”

I just fell silent. Still can't believe the face of the opponent I saw.

The host looked confused. “You must be so happy that you can't believe what happened, right? By the way what makes you interested in attending this event?”

Again I just kept quiet. Meanwhile the audience laughed.

Meanwhile the referee started to approach the host and whispered. The host nodded and again greeted the penoton.

“Because of the many votes and money that came in tonight for the Beginner Challenger, some people who donated money tonight want to watch the fight back from this new challenger.”

The whole audience cheered. I quickly went down the arena.

“Hey, the Beginner Challenger! Where are you going?”

The floodlights are still pointing at me. In the meantime, I was in a hurry to get out of the room. I could faintly hear the disappointed sigh of the penoton. Stupid time with them! I'm not interested in doing that match. I searched the treatment room, hoping to meet my opponent earlier.

After five minutes I managed to find the treatment room. Hurry to open the door.

“Hei! What are you doing?” Snapped one of the nurses.

Two men tried to stop me from entering. “You can't enter carelessly! This is the fighter's privacy. Quickly get out of here!”

“Badas!”

“Hei! I told you to get out!” They pushed me out of the room.

“Stop.” Someone said from behind a curtain in the room.

The nurse stopped and they turned towards the curtain.

“Leave the guy here. Looks like he wants to talk to me.”

The nurses nodded. And then passed away leaving us. The room was quiet. I took off my mask and quickly opened the curtain. My guess is correct. Sharp eyes with short haircuts. His face did not change at all. He's Badas. The only girl I know in the group of thieves.

“Who are you? How do you know my real name?” Ask with a cynical look. He is always vigilant and does not trust others easily.

“I Zenzen.” I whispered softly.

The look on his face changed. “Zenzen?”

I nodded firmly.

“Gosh! It's been a long time and your face seems to have changed drastically. You're this tall too. Whatever happened to you, boy.”

I scratched my head that wasn't itchy. “Before that I apologized about your right hand. The price paid must be expensive once.”

Badas smiled thinly. I've never seen him smile like that. I don't know, it's sad.

“No problem. This can be repaired again. How about you?”

I just smiled thinly. “Many things happened to me.” I showed my bionic hands and feet. “As you can see.”

“It turns out you're the same, huh? I can't believe you've been alive since that incident. I thought we were the only ones who survived the fire.”

“We?”

Badas leaned his body against the wall. “There was another survivor in the fire. Coup.”

I round my eyes. It is beyond belief that he survived the incident. The reason I was so happy to hear that was because the group of thieves was a family to me. Even though we have no blood relation, our bond and relationship are like family. That's why I'm so happy to hear some of us survived. Except for one person. I would never have liked it if “dia” was still alive.

“What happened to you, Zenzen?”

I just shrugged my shoulders. “Someone took me and made me like this.”

“Then Agia? Is he safe?”

I fell silent and swallowed. “I don't know. He left me in the fire. Under the rubble of a building that has burned. My brother died because of it too. If he let me save my brother even if it was only a second faster, maybe now I won't end up like this.”

Badas.

Badas was silent for a moment. “That's a lie, Zenzen.”

I pricked. What do you mean by those words?

“The coup deliberately spread the rumor to you so that you all no longer think about him and the slum. He wants all of you to run away on the grounds that the Coup surrendered itself. That means your identity will be revealed and you will be imprisoned if you do not leave the place immediately. I realized something strange. That's why I went to his place. But as soon as I got there, the Coup looked at me with a cold and empty look. I told him to leave immediately. But he refused. I saw him holding a flyer. I tried to persuade her but she refused hard and yelled at me. I've never seen him scream like that. All my years with her, she always looked calm and thoughtful, but that day all her pride seemed to disappear.”

“I keep insisting on taking him away from the place. So I brought some money stored in the safe which was his money. As soon as the explosion was heard, the ceiling above us collapsed and crucified my body and body. At least lucky for me. I can still move on and get out of the situation. In the dark I watched the coup holding the leaflet and lying motionless. He fainted from a violent impact. I quickly carried her away from the location. Running among the crowd of citizens.”

“I hated my small body physique back then. My movements became very slow. I was so panicked, the blood from his forehead was unceasingly pouring out. I just ran and ran. Not once did I look back even though I knew what was going on there. Fireflowers were flying around us. The sound of his breathing was still heard, at least it made me a little calm. We managed to escape from that place and ended up under a bridge.”

“I put down the Coup and tried to find help. It's just that day all the clinics and hospitals were closed. As if they were doing it intentionally. Be me back where I put the Coup about an hour later. But once I got there, I didn't find any of our money anywhere. The money disappeared. Someone stole it while I was away. Stupid me. Yes, I am indeed a fool and the most stupid person in the group of thieves. I only know how to wrestle, and I don't know how to think. It makes me very angry. Angry at myself. Be me crying all day beside the unconscious body of the Coup.”

“I'm so sorry that day. If only I could take that money with me, maybe me and the Coup would never end like this. Maybe we'll be happy and go out of town and find a house there. It's okay if it's an uncertified house we have money on our hands. It's okay if it's somewhere in the middle of nowhere as long as the money is in our hands. That's all I could think of at the time. I was desperate and didn't know what to do. Staring at the helplessly drooping coup. I feel a little upset with him. Why doesn't he want to leave that place? If only we had left sooner, maybe he wouldn't have been hurt like that. What made him not want to leave? What makes him want to survive? That's when I saw him clutching tightly onto something in his hand. I took the paper. Because the blood had already dirty it, it was not clear what image was on the paper. Even so I can still read it. And as soon as I read it, I immediately knew what the contents on the paper were.”

Silent moment.

Badas back to the. “In the paper is written, ‘I want to find a family.’ At that moment I realized why he insisted on staying at the place. Because he knew, there would be no place for him to take shelter after the memories he had passed through at the headquarters. I still haven't named the Coup. But that was all I could deduce in the midst of our circumstances back then. Until now he will always be mysterious to me. Because I'll never be able to understand it. Both then and now. I will never be able to know him, because his figure no longer exists.”

I swallowed spit. What does Badas mean by a dead figure? Didn't he say the coup was still alive.

“What happened after that?” I asked lirih.

Badas smiled faintly and held his shattered right hand. “I carried him back. Walk, walk, and walk. Until I feel tired and hungry. I felt the body of the Coup getting colder. My stomach is very hungry. I constantly curse myself and blame myself. But that's what happened. Until I'm tired. I decided to take shelter in one of the alleys. I have to survive. What else have I learned in my life besides stealing and looting. Let me leave the Coup to find a target I can loot. But that day I was really unlucky. I looted from one of the mafia members I accidentally met. I had to fight. Fortunately I managed to win. I did get some money and could buy some food. But the problem didn't end there. The mafia found me and found me with the coup. I was so scared. I've never felt that scared in my entire life. They were five people and their bodies were huge. They even brought drones. I had no choice but to fight. I fought until both my hands were destroyed. But they still survive. My eyes were blurred and I could see nothing. I'm drooping helplessly. And finally passed out at the scene.”

Badas rubbed his head. “When I woke up, I was in a room. I can't feel both my hands. When I realized, my hand was no longer there. Replaced by two black iron hands. I called out in panic. But shut up as soon as someone entered the room. He's the mafia boss. I hurried to put up a holding position. But the man laughed out loud and leisurely sat down before me. He said if I resisted, then they wouldn't stay silent. They brought the coup. I was so scared and didn't know what to do. Be me giving up. Let them ask me to do whatever they want.”

“Don't tell me that match was the thing you had to do because they held the Coup?” I cut the conversation.

Badas was silent. “Somehow can you say so or not. They took care of me and fed me anyway. They also guarantee the life of the Coup.”

“Where is Coup now? Is he still here?”

Badas. “He is neither here nor in this area.  He was in the city centre for treatment. I told you before, right? That the figure of the Coup is gone. He has delusional disorder. He was therefore put in a mental hospital to undergo rehabilitation. I don't know how she is now because I never got to see her. My father wouldn't let me meet him.”

“Dad? You mean that ‘Bos’?”

Badas nodded back. “I've officially become his adopted son. I don't have a choice, Zenzen. I have made mistakes in the past that I cannot change. Therefore let all this happen.”

I'm speechless. Don't know what to say. Hearing the news made me feel so bad.

“Zenzen, let me give you some advice even if I don't deserve to tell you. You need to get out of town before it's too late. There is no place for people like us. No matter how hard you try, you'll just end up like me. Those who are more powerful will always step on you.”

“You alone?”

Badas clenched his jaws.

“You yourself are just sitting in a place like this?”

Badas lowered his head and smiled faintly. “Of course I'll never be able to run. Because I don't recognize myself anymore, Zenzen. I'm not as lucky as you. When I first saw you, I knew you were going to be a tough enemy tonight. I can judge it from your bionic body that looks different from the opponents I faced before. Therefore I did not hesitate to exert all my strength at the beginning of the match. My guess is right, you won this match. I'm sure your life is very lucky right now. Looks like the Coup really judged you. You will definitely be an amazing child someday.”

I squeezed my fingers. I don't want luck. I want myself to decide my destiny. I don't want to say it's a gift, but the truth is that's what happened.

“Badas, where is the Coup treated? At least I want to see him once.”

Badas. “I don't know either. Dad never told me. I dare not ask him either. Because I'm afraid he'll hurt the Coup if I try to fight him.”

I clenched my jaw. Why should people like us, anyway? Why do people like us seem unfit to breathe in this world? Why must we among the millions of people in this city experience this bitter life? Where is the error? Where's the gaffe? Every day is torture. Every day is like walking on a barbed road. Can't people like us live quietly? Smile in the warm sunshine and run freely on the grassland.

I vaguely heard the crowd. I know that voice. Adors. He was looking for me and arguing with the officers out there.

“You have to go, Zenzen.” Badas.

I knew I had to go. I know Badas' stature. He tends to be firm and irritable. I don't want to argue with him either. But that's where my longing lies. I miss them so much. I miss my own family more. I put on my mask and walked slowly to the door.

“What I mean is not to go to where you are at the moment, but rather to leave this city.”

My steps stopped for a moment. Then walk back and open the door.

“Gosh! Why are you suddenly running like that, anyway? You think it's easy to find you among thousands of people.”

I walked through it. Ador quickly caught up with me.

“Hey, you didn't listen to me talk, huh?”

I kept quiet and kept going.

“Hei! How dare you ignore this old man.”

I'm stalled. Turned looking. “Nothing I want to talk about after this and coming. Stop trying to find out and try to know. People like you won't know anything about me.” I said in a cold tone.

Ador speechless. “If I don't see your face, I know you're angry.”

I laugh. “It's just a mask. And this mask does not mean to show my current expression, Ador. So stop guessing. I'm sick of your pleasantries.”

Non-rigid. The lights above us dimmed for a moment.

“I don't know because you never told me. Are not your words outrageous. I've told you before, if you want to continue please continue. Conversely, if you want to stop please stop. You always misjudge others. You're always so bad to think about other people.”
