I woke up as soon as the screeching sunlight entered the room through the window. Marko's still asleep, I woke him up. He's lazy. Fall back asleep. All right, if he doesn't want to wake up I won't force him. Maybe he's exhausted. I stepped out the deck. Vero's in the wheelhouse. Controlling ships. Bundara and Jora may still be asleep.
So far there is only the sea. Seeing such a vast sea made me realize one thing. The world is not just a land. If added to the sea, so big is this world. Maybe being a wanderer like Happy is fun. Seeing new places, exploring different places, passing through all obstacles, getting to know people with different tribes.
The sun is starting to look clearer. Sky blushing. The ocean glittered over the sunlight that had just risen. A bad wind blew through my hair. I breathe fresh air typical of the ocean. The air here doesn't feel dirty. Probably because it's far from land. Some seagulls were flying around the ship, like accompanying our journey. So far no danger has come close. The waves even look calm.
Bundara, Jora, and Marko have awakened . They were sitting on the deck of the ship. Taking food to fill their stomachs, I joined in as well. Breakfast is very important for the body. As long as we eat a loaf of bread in the morning, we can be strong not to eat all day.
“Vero, don't you eat?” Bundara offered Vero bread.
Vero shook his head slowly. “I've eaten before sunrise.”
“Really? What's up, Vero? Don't-don't because this trip made you find yourself.” Bundara exclaimed in surprise. Half insult.
Vero simply replied with a smile as he clenched his hand. Back to driving.
“It looks like I'm starting to like this floating ship.”
Uh, didn't he say he hated her yesterday? We all put on astonished faces. Maybe true said Bundara, Vero kesambet something.
“At least because of this ship I can see the sunset and sunrise more real. If we use a plane, the story will be different. Oh I really like it..”.
We all shook our heads not understanding. Vero is really acting very differently today. Again, he was like a different person.
The ship continues to split the ocean. The sails beside the ship are packing gracefully. Our eyes were on a group of animals.
It's a herd of dolphins! They jumped from the water gracefully. The splashes of water around them made the scene like a painting. It was impressive to see it in person. I thought they were long gone and became one of the legendary beasts I read in my storybook as a child. We all cried out in amazement. Jora began drawing the aquatic mammals. Move the questioner deftly. What a rare opportunity to see the creature directly. Unfortunately we do not have a camera or any device that can capture this moment.
The dolphins are starting to move away. Maybe they are migrating. As Happy says, find a warm place when it's cold and find a cool place when it's hot.
Five hours later.
We throw each other riddles on the deck. Vero joined in. He activated the automatic steering. Keep the ship going even without anyone driving it.
Sometimes they laugh. Vero and Bundara are mocking me. I'm the only one who doesn't give any expression. I don't know what's funny about their jokes and riddles. Am I really that stupid? I don't know, I can't really judge myself.
We were completely unaware, this joke made all of us fall asleep. Out there, before we realized what was going on, the wind was blowing even louder. The waves began to rise, the sky began to feel dark. The ship suffered a great shock. Makes us sting.
Vero immediately ran into the steering room. He was surprised to see the sight that was several meters away from our position. Oh, my God, it's a storm!
“Vero! Turn steering!” I gave the order.
We take the ocean too lightly. Sometimes behind the calm, danger can come closer. Like a calm flowing river with dozens of crocodiles swimming underneath.
Vero rushes around the wheel, deflecting the ship. Trying to get away from the terrible storm that was unfolding before us. The roaring wind grew louder, making the sail of the ship move unscathed. Vero pressed the screen cover button. In an instant, the screen had folded.
But even worse, a five-meter-high wave was about to sweep us away. Directly, the ship was violently jolted. Water entering the deck room makes the body drenched. Heavy rain fell, lightning roared, the sky rumbled. We could only survive inside the deck with seat belts attached. Vero was no longer able to control the ship that was vacillating. It's more terrible than going down a waterfall.
I put on my helmet. Prepare for the worst. At least this ship is strong enough to withstand the brunt of the waves that hit the hull mercilessly. The wind is getting stronger. My chest is beating fast. This storm is so terrible. If this ship were a regular ship, we wouldn't last five minutes. The sea's ferocity.
Vero is still trying to control the pace of the ship. I would love to replace him, but what can I do? Just looking at the buttons I shuddered in horror.
The waves are rising. Make the ship lift a few meters high. I clenched my jaw. Hold on tight to my chair. Water repeatedly flushes the body. It made us shiver in the cold.
Suddenly, waves as high as eight meters were about to devour the ship. Vero yelling.
“BIG BOMB!!”
BYARS!
The ship was shaken very strongly. Make a thumping sound. The lights inside the ship flickered. I sighed, don't let the ship's engine die.
Sure enough, this ship is not strong enough to withstand the pounding waves that are increasingly raging. Five minutes later, the turbo shut down. Making Vero must use manual means. It is like a real ship. Vero re-opened the screen. Adjust it to the wind direction.
But, a bigger obstacle came. Keep us busy helping Vero control the ship. Suddenly, the lights on the deck went off. The ship's engine died out completely. Vero can't move the screen. He's pushing a button. Grumbled.
“LIAN, WHOLE SHIP ENGINE OFF! WE HAVE TO MOVE THE SCREEN MANUALLY!” Vero exclaimed in a loud voice. Trying to beat the sound of a raging storm.
I nodded, looking in the other direction. In unison, we all let go of the seat belts. I'm trying to keep my balance in the middle of the ship's shock. We all take various equipment. Especially the straps so that we do not get thrown from the ship later.
After we put on various gear, we started to approach the screen. Do not forget to attach the hook to the mast of the ship. We grabbed the screen rope. Bundara and Jora held the right, Marko and I held the left. We pulled the rope. Makes the screen expand perfectly. It was Vero who gave the order how strong we had to pull the rope.
“KANAN!”
Me and Marko loosened the pull, and Jora and Bundara pulled it over strongly.
“STRAIGHT!”
The four of us pulled tight. Sometimes one of us slips. Then try to rise in the middle of the tight wind and slippery floor of the ship.
“AWAS THERE ARE WAVES ON THE LEFT!”
Marko and I got down together while still holding the rope. Waves about us.
“LEFT!”
Marko and I are trying to get up. We pulled the rope as fast as we could, and Jora and Bundara loosened it.
We continued to survive amid the storm. If there were more than five meters of waves, we would clutch tightly at the rope. My hands are starting to ache. The coldness of piercing the skin made my whole body start to stiffen. But I'm more worried about Marko and Jora. They are the weakest physically and mentally.
Marko nodded steadily, giving his thumb. He's still capable.
The lightning roared even more violently. Makes us glow around for a moment. The wind is getting stronger, making the atmosphere more tense. Vero is still trying to revive the engine. Until he knew the cause of the ship's damage.
“Lian! I know the cause of the dead ship engine!”
I'm turning. “What?”
“It looks like something got stuck in the ship's engine. I don't know what that thing is!”
I'm nodding.
“Jora you changed my position! Bundara, you can pull the rope alone, right?”
Bundara laughs. “Of course!”
Jora slowly walked towards me. Sometimes he almost slipped. I quickly grabbed her hand before she fell. After making sure his grip was steady, I immediately shuffled from my place, removing the rope that hooked on my body, towards the back of the ship.
I can still communicate with them through the helmet. If anything happens, I can hear Vero's call. I started to hook the rope behind the deck room. Slowly down the ship. I was a little horrified to see the raging waves down there. But safety together is more important.
I went down the wall of the ship very carefully. Towards the engine section of the ship located at the rear. I took a deep breath, then slid underwater. It's hard to see the view down here. Occasionally the waves pushed me to and fro. I kept holding on to the rope. Slowly approaching the engine of the ship.
Vero's right, there's something stuck in the engine. Not clear form. I pulled the thing, exerting all my strength. My breath was running out, but I kept trying to let go of the thing. I growled, concentrating all my strength in the hand.
It worked! That thing slipped off. Engine is back on. I jerked. My breath was up, I was trying to get back to the surface. But my vision began to dim and my body felt weak. I even swallowed sea water. In the second I almost fainted. Someone pulled the rope that was tied to my body.
I managed to get back to the surface. It's just that my body feels weak. They all helped me, pulled the rope and lifted my body onto the boat. Little by little, I was on board. They laid me.
“Lian, are you okay?” Bundara asked. Wiggling my face.
I'm nodding. Take off my helmet, let my face get raindrops. I swallowed some water, making me cough.
“Vero, we have to dock soon! Find the nearest island!” Jora gave the order.
Vero raised a respectful hand. Back to the steering room. Meanwhile they carried my body into the deck. I lay it on the passenger seat. I'd love to thank you, but my throat is suffocating.
The storm's starting to subside. It's just that the rain is still coming down. I couldn't get up or just say a word or two. They took off my various equipment. Give me a dry blanket. My body shivered violently. My face must be very pale.
“Lian, are you okay?” Jora asked worriedly.
I could barely hear his voice. My sight is still blurred. Perhaps the effects of the salty sea water made my eyes blurry.
“Bundara, take warm water and dry towel! Marko, please grab the medicine box.” Jora re-ruled.
Without having to be ordered twice, they rushed over.
I was dying to say that I was okay, but my mouth suddenly became confused, and in some parts of my body began to stiffen. I even wondered to myself. “Aren't I okay?”
Jora started sobbing. Although I could not see her face hidden behind the helmet, I knew she was crying. Again, I want to say if I'm okay. Tranquilize. But I'm totally helpless.
A few minutes later, Bundara and Marko had returned. Jora deftly wet my face with a warm towel. He told Bundara to sit me down. Shed me warm water.
But I can't feel anything. I'm shivering really hard. My hands vibrate. Cold sweat poured out from my forehead, my chest felt tight and my breath felt hot. The shaking of the ship made my head dizzy and my stomach nauseous. Jora kept calling my name to keep me sober. Meanwhile Vero exclaimed.
Marko. He tried to check my body. He was surprised to see my feet. Something stuck in there. A thorn. It's just that I can't feel it. He took the thorn.
“It appears that the Captain was exposed to echinoidea poison or other animals. I read it in a book.” Marko said softly.
Jora took some medicine. Injected it into my body. Maybe some kind of antidote.
“ISLAND!”
The three of them looked forward. Meanwhile, my eyes slowly dimmed. My breath feels thin. Oh, my God, what's going on?
Vero accelerated the ship. He did not even see any rows of corals around the island. Instantly, the ship hit one of the corals. The ship almost crashed. They held my body so I wouldn't fall. Vero still controls the ship. Trying to avoid the coral.
I kept persuading myself to stay conscious. This time the ship was back. They couldn't hold my body. Bounced a few meters. I even fell out of the chair. With my limp body, I tried to hold on to the leg of the chair even though my hands were stiff. Fortunately, all the furniture in the ship is connected to the floor of the ship. We will be troubled if these items are dragged to and fro.
The ship was shaken for the next time. Even vaguely, I could hear Vero screaming. Encouraging himself to keep trying to control the ship. Meanwhile, Jora, Bundara, and Marko tried to get to me in the middle of the shock.
My grip's stretched. The ship is reeling. My body hit one of the closets. I grimaced in pain. I don't wear a protector, of course it hurts a lot. Plus my head feels dizzy. This situation is making me very tortured.
Finally the ship stopped. Vero lowered the anchor. They all breathed. But not for me. Slowly my consciousness began to disappear. Jora yelled out my name. I can no longer hear his voice. My eyes are starting to close. I'm not strong anymore. They're approaching. Patting my face. I was unconscious. Darkened
