The next day I began to live the days like an ordinary child. Even though I have become a half-robot or commonly called a cyborg, I still need food because my internal organs are still original organs. In addition to food I also have to often fill the energy on my bionic aids. Each bionic has a different resistance. Compared to the rest of me, it has the longest endurance. Ador designed it in such a way that it has a long-lasting battery and is able to absorb heat energy. That's what allows me not to charge my bionic¬ hands and feet too often.
But there was one thing that made me feel very uncomfortable. Those kids, they all looked at me with hateful cynical gazes. I know what they think of me. Especially if it wasn't because I got treated differently than the others. Actually the reason Ador did that is not because I am a special child or something. I'm sure Ador only thinks of me as a valuable asset and his best work. If I was useless, I would just be thrown away by him like a failed object. Ends up in a shelter for junk.
Ador educated us like a school student in general. We went to school even though we lived in his laboratory. Ador himself became our teacher and our guide. Sometimes he also taught us some of the techniques and functions of the tools we wear. Apart from being a tool, our bionic body can be used as a defense tool. For this session Ador even tested us in a room with various moving robot dolls. Each tool has a different level of strength intensity. All of that is also influenced by the brain power and the ability to think of each individual. Through these trials I believe Ador intends to make us weapons of war or something.
My suspicion of Ador is growing every day. I've gathered some clues and information. And in my conclusion Ador gathers children to be used as combat tools in the future. Why children? Because a person's sense of obedience is influenced from their childhood. If a person is educated to obey the commands of an adult from childhood, they will become like a guard dog obedient to their master. That's how my vision is about Ador. He tried to brainwash us and intended to make us his guard dogs. But unlike me, I will never be fooled. If there was a chance, even if it would take years, even if I had to spend my entire life, I would definitely chop off his head. Or be the fruit of death that he planted himself.
We line up in order of age. Entering a room to do a test. In the room there are several props in the form of humans and animals. It's ugly in shape. I even thought the robots were junk piled up on the side of the room. Ador told us the reason for doing this test.
“I'm sure among you there's still pain and nightmares all night. That's why I created this simulation as your healer and medicine to be free from the constraints of trauma and mental illness that you have. We can run away from fear. But instead, it is we who must pursue that fear until you succeed in getting it and defeating it. You guys understand?”
“Understanding!” We were almost at the same time.
The first session began with the child who had the oldest age among us. Name's Bastian. He has a tall and stout stature. She was seventeen years old. He lost his right leg in an accident. Not to mention his right eye was also a fake eye. I could see her faintly bright fake eyeballs in orange. All the children were subject to his orders. Of course I didn't. I want to follow someone I don't even consider a friend. Bastian started to enter the room. We were able to watch how the puppets started moving. Bastian smiled faintly as he looked towards Ador.
“Mr Ador, I will definitely do my best.” He said while giving a thumbs up.
Ador chuckles. “Look at it, Son. This will be different from your previous training. Don't be arrogant just yet.”
Ador started pressing a button. Robots as tall as adults began to rustle. Their eyes are bright orange with a circle shaped like a camera lens. Initially their movements were broken, but after a while their movements turned very smooth and flexible. Like a human. I have to admit, Ador's work is amazing.
In total there are five robots that block Bastian. The robots began to move forward. They are very agile and flexible. Maybe the robots are like a copy of an athlete or something. Bastian took the horses. Thanks to his false legs he can also move agilely avoiding robots trying to catch him. I just kept quiet and watched then digested the purpose of this simulation. Although I was only twelve years old, I already had the ability to think like an adult. I don't know where this ability came from. My thinking skills continued to be honed as long as I was a thief first. Without me knowing it, my brain is getting sharper.
Bastian rolled to and fro and dodged attack after attack. The sweat on his face began to show. Even so, he was still able to move swiftly.
“You know? fighting is one way a person forgets their bitter memories and transforms them in the form of strength. By fighting, our brain receives new progress and subconsciously begins to throw away unwanted memories by channeling them into power. Think of it like the evil characters you see on television. Evil characters are often portrayed as vile and heartless. All this they do to relieve the pain in the heart. Oho! Don't let all of you think about being the bad guy. This is just a parable.” Obviously Ador in the middle of the simulation. “In addition, there is one more thing my purpose to do this simulation. None other than your spontaneous ability to control the bionic tools in your body. The more you are agile to control the object, it means that it is already like a part of you without having to focus your mind. Therefore I will test you guys in a simulation like this every month.”
We all nodded in unison. Look back at Bastian. It's been ten minutes he's survived. It seems Bastian is getting tired.
“Bastian, are you tired?” Ador asked to be sure.
“But!” bastian said in the middle of his breath. “Please level up.”
Ador chuckles. “If you move by remembering your bitter memories, you will only quickly feel tired, Son.” Ador makes suggestions while leveling up from the simulation.
The robots are moving faster. Make Bastian must exert more energy. His body became unbalanced and he often made mistakes. In the end, he couldn't hold on much longer.
“I've told you if today will be harder.” Ador laughed out loud.
Bastian frowned and lay on the floor for a moment. Then walk out of the room.
Same with the next order. On average they only lasted up to ten minutes in the arena. It ends like Bastian. Until it was finally my turn. Because I just joined Ador gave me the lowest level of this game. It's just a matter of endurance testing.
“Zenzen, you don't have to force yourself.”
I'm nodding. But I'm still going to do this simulation in earnest. I have a special intention to follow this simulation. That way I can test how well this bionic body can control.
As Ador said, the emotion of control is very influential in the movement of every bionic body. When someone is experiencing an emotion, then their mind will be chaotic and irregular. That's why the dolls were made with the aim that the bionic body controller is not fixated on the emotions that exist in his mind. So far that's the simple conclusion I've learned from this simulation.
“You're great, son. For beginners it is an incredible progress.” Ador exclaimed in the middle of the simulation.
“I'm still capable. Can you please level up.”
Ador nodded. This time the robots moved faster. I concentrated as best I could and focused my mind on controlling my bionic body. I nimbly avoided the hands of the robot that was trying to catch me. My instincts went well. Even if I don't see, I can tell where the robots are trying to catch me. Back, top, side, all I've been through so easily.
“Good, enough for today.”
Eh? I still don't feel tired one bit. “Can't I continue to the next level?” I said expectantly.
The other children shouted in disbelief. Ador just chuckled. As far as I know Ador, he's always chuckling like that like old grandfathers.
“You can still look like it. All right, I accept your grand ambition, son. But don't cry if you're hurt. Oh, most importantly, don't get mad at me and blame me. This is your choice.”
I nodded steadily. The pain will no longer make me cry. I've decided not to cry anymore just because of the bitter past I've experienced. Once again, my hatred for the world is greater than my pain of losing someone precious to me.
The robots came back. One by one the parts shifted and rattled each other. It seems that Ador is changing the mode of his robots to be more flexible and lightweight. The robot's eye lens is widened. It shows a perfect round orange light. Without further ado, the robots are moving very fast.
I waited until one of the robot's hands almost hit me. I quickly dodged to the side. Two robots catch the wind and collide with each other. I rolled over here and there. Since I thought of nothing but my ambition to continue defending, I was very easy to deal with attack after attack. My determination to become stronger and stronger than anyone is huge. It was that feeling that made me decide to continue living.
I realized one thing during the fire tragedy that killed my brother. I realized one very bitter fact since the incident. The one unwritten rule that exists in this world, I would never be able to live if I were not above the rest. I would never be able to advance if there were still people who were higher than me. The only way I can live is one. Not letting anyone be above me. Instead, I am the one who will be above them. I'm the one who's gonna make them fear me.
“Ador! Level up!” I cried out in the middle of the simulation.
Ador agreed to my request. This time, the robots began to attack. No longer trying to catch me. I quickly dodged to the right and to the left. The robots hit the air. One robot tried to throw a kick at my head.I deflected the kick using my bionic hand and turned it towards another robot. One robot is down. Four other robots. Two robots tried to attack me simultaneously. I focused on the situation and my body reacted quickly. I quickly looked down and turned around on the floor. Again they just punched the air.
“Zenzen, are you tired?” Ask Ador in the middle of the fight.
“Not yet, I can still continue.” I answered his question while smiling.
“Let's see. I'm sure after this you'll give up.”
This time Ador activates two beast-shaped robots with thorns on their necks. It is slightly larger than a tiger. The two robots barked ferociously and made a noise like the roar of a train. I smiled happily. This feeling was a feeling I had never experienced before. My heart was pounding and strangely I felt no fear. I quickly found the two robots. They jumped up and tried to knock me down with their lunge. I quickly caught one of the robot legs of the animal. Then threw it quickly towards the two human robots behind me.
Three down, which means the remaining three robots. One animal robot and two human robots. They were silent for a moment. It seems to be analyzing the situation and trying to find a gap to attack me. The fight has begun again. They seem to be working together to bring me down. Again, I am neither scared nor scared. I welcome attack after attack. I feel so happy today. This is the most fun part of my life. I don't know what I call this feeling. I feel so great and strong. This is called adrenaline. Maybe this is what it feels like to be stronger than anyone.
The robot beast tried to scratch me. I turned around and avoided the attack. Behind me were two human robots preparing to attack me. I dodged without looking back. Quickly scuttle the legs of the two robots. Two human robots were downed. There is one more robot. Robot animals that are barking fiercely. Ready to hit me anytime.
The robot stood at the side of the room and stomped its feet like a bull. Smoke billowed from his mouth. His eyes stared ferociously at me. The robot focused its energy right at his feet. I could see an orange glow at the end of the robot's legs. It quickly darted with that concentrated energy. Sounded a moment's thump. I grinned. This is the moment I am most waiting for. I may still be young. But I showed unnatural behavior to a child.
I concentrated the electrical energy right at the end of my fist. My hands give off an orange light. I quickly turned to the robot. Clenching my hands with all my might. When the robot came close to touching me, I slid my fist right into the stomach. Time seems to go slowly. I can watch the robot's body disintegrate and disintegrate. Scattered on the floor like junk. Silent moment. Ador was speechless.
