The Destruction of Batana

The Destruction of Batana
THE-PI CITY

I woke up at 10 a.m.

My eyes blinked. Sunlight flushes the aircraft cabin. I turned my head, Marko who was sitting by the window of the plane first asked.

“Why did you wake up late, Captain?” He asked concernedly as he pointed at my eyes that were like panda eyes.

I yawned, shut my mouth. “Last night I woke up and couldn't sleep.”

“You still have trouble sleeping?” Jora cursed along.

I wave my hand. Lazy to answer his question. I'll still consider him a stowaway.

“You missed your breakfast, Lian.” Bundara responded, offering me bread.

Until I remembered Happy's words, he sent them his greetings.

“Ah, I forgot one thing, someone leave a greeting to you.”

“Who, Lian?” This time Vero was interested. He turned his eyes for a moment towards me.

“Happy's. One of my acquaintances.” I answered briefly. Afraid they ask deeper.

I decided to take a look at the scenery outside the plane while finishing my breakfast. So far we are still in the barren plain. Nothing interesting.

The day goes by so fast. Vero and Marko still fight a lot, making a lot of cabins. Jora often injured them, if it is not effective, Bundara will join in the divorce. I'm more silent. If I get bored I will take a book, write a letter or just doodle. I'm not like Mom who likes to write everyday. But it seems like a good idea. I can write my life journey.

In the afternoon, the sky began to turn orange. Birds seem to fly around us. We all stared at the king of the day who was beginning to sink at the foot of the sky. It's always nice to look at the twilight.

Late that night, Vero landed the plane again. We rested. Tomorrow we continue our journey.

For about two days we just came out of the square. This time the scenery was replaced by a dense looking forest. I could see various primates hanging on top of trees. One two were seen running, the other cheering, throwing stones or fruits. Trying to evict even if everything they do is free.

Jora looks enthusiastic. He drew the monkeys. Marko was praised. Jora just nodded, blushing in embarrassment.

But we are really unaware. Danger is waiting for us ten minutes ahead. Danger that caused us to lose.

We were busy staring at the forest below us. When Vero was maneuvering between the steep cliffs. Twenty meters from the bottom of the cliff, a cannon was fired. Fortunately, radar on the plane detected the object. Vero quickly slammed the plane's rudder. Makes the plane a little shaken.

THE DUAR!

The cannon exploded.

“WHAT-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?” Bundara exclaimed in panic.

“I don't know, but it looks like someone is attacking us!” Vero called out no less in panic. His hands clasped tightly to the steering wheel. Don't want to miss for a second.

“Vero, take another path!” I gave the order.

Plane whirring. The next cannon came. Vero swerved, the plane in the reverse position. Luckily, the seat belts kept us from falling. The cannon blast shook the plane.

“LIAN, WE HAVE TO HOW?” Vero yelling.

I rubbed my face. This condition is very bad. Tension meets the cabin. Vero desperately avoided the attack of the cannon.

“Vero, we keep moving forward. You can, right?” I made a decision.

Vero smiled thinly. “I've been waiting for the order. I'm warning you to hold on, because this won't be the same as it was.”

We nodded in unison. Vero clenched its jaws, increasing the speed of the plane.

The aircraft circled around avoiding more and more cannonballs. The sky was filled with fireworks. Vero stayed focused, he was like a different person. His gaze was sharp and there were no antics left on his face.

Marko complained first. Stomach's nauseous. I told him to hold on. But worse, Bundara almost vomited. Hold it in the mouth. Jora remained calm. He seems to be used to this situation.

THE DUAR!

A cannon exploded a few meters beside the plane. Almost about turbo plane. Every now and then Vero airs a little higher. I hope the cannon doesn't touch the plane. But the cannon is like a living thing that keeps following us.

It seems I made the wrong decision. Vero is not like a robot that has advanced intelligence, predicting all directions of the cannon. Vero is just a human being like us. Of course not perfect.

A cannon hit the wing of the plane. The explosion was deafening. Vero is still at the wheel. The alarm alarm is on. Flashing red lights filled the room. Vero called out mayday-mayday. I bite my lips. Jora screamed and the others.

Within five seconds, the plane crashed to the bottom of the forest. Make a crack in there here and there. Trees fell in the plane. The animals were in disarray as soon as they heard the crash of the plane. Vero is still at the wheel. Control the plane so that it does not roll over and explode. He looks tired. His hands clasped tightly to the steering wheel.

Plane stopped. Smoke was billowing all around us. I coughed. Reaching for my helmet that fell on the roof of the plane. Our position is upside down, lucky seat belts protect us.

“What's all okay?” I asked, breaking the tension.

“I need a little help here!” Vero complained. His leg got caught in the wheel of a crooked plane.

Talk about loss. The loss I'm referring to here is the Falcon's loss. The plane that took us all along. Our journey had to be taken longer.

We started to unbuckle our seat belts. Falling to the roof of the plane. Jora is fine. There are no wounds. So do the others. Except Vero. He was still stuck, begging for help. It's too bad to see it.

We helped Vero to get out. But the steering is caught between the iron that crosses each other. It's hard to take it off. Bundara is even overwhelmed.

“We just blast this iron-iron.” Bundara gave a proposal.

“Gosh! You have the heart, Bundara! You want to kill me?” Vero refused. He looked at Bundara. Face pale.

Bundara laughs. “I'm just kidding. It's so nice to look you upside down like that.”

“I agree with you, Om Bun.” Marko laughing. Respond.

It's beyond reason. How could they still remain calm in this kind of condition?

We're back to help Vero. But it did not produce results. Vero exclaims to nag, says if he's tired hanging like that. In the middle of her scolding, Jora patted my shoulder. I turned my head, Jora pointed to the outside of the plane.

From the forest, there was a rumbling sound.

They took the guns. Vero was still stuck, trying to get his leg out.

“Marko, you protect the plane with me! Bundara, protect and help, Vero! Jora, you..” I was silent for a moment, “You helped Vero out.”

Jora clenched her hands. I exhaled for a moment. It's an emergency situation. At least I need more help.

Me and Marko have been standing outside the plane. Bundara and Jora are still busy helping the pinched Vero. The rumbling sounds are getting closer. The birds look flying. Like a sign of danger coming.

Justright. A group of RP-2 arrived. Marko and I opened fire. In one shot, the robot was smashed into pieces. The robot roars furiously. Their voices were like shrill shots filling the sky. They seem to be communicating. Code to their friends.

Holy hooch! They come more. One or two have even made it to the plane. This time Vero helped. He fired at the robots that were about to enter the plane in an inverted position. Bundara and Jora are still trying to get Vero out of the way. Occasionally open fire outside. Help me and Marko in a pinch.

I exclaimed stifled. These robots are endless. One was destroyed, replacing the other. This incident is the same as when I was on a mission while in Keios City. The difference is I'm easier to destroy the robot using my rifle. We stand shoulder to shoulder.

But the robots are more violent. Me and Marko were even forced to retreat and shoot from inside the plane. Some robots began to damage parts of the plane. They cannot move in a narrow space. Bundara had managed to open the iron that clamped Vero's leg a few inches. Vero's face was pale. Jora is standing by my side. Helps prevent RP-2 from trying to get in.

I complained. The robot has successfully crashed the plane. Their hands flailing. Trying to catch us trapped in the plane. There is no room for us to get out. This situation is like ants clinging to sugar.

“BUNDARA! WHAT ABOUT VERO?” I asked in a loud voice. Trying to beat the raw sound of a blow.

“A LITTLE MORE!”

I could hear the sound of Bundara moving the iron. I would love to help her, but if I leave my position, the robots will easily enter the plane.

“BUNDARA?” I asked back. RP-2 started to fill the plane. Their hands stretched out.

“ARG... A LITTLE MORE!” Bundara is still trying. Give up all his strength.

It worked! The iron moves. Vero was free from his squashed situation. Join the RP-2.

We couldn't stay on the plane for long. The robot has already destroyed and hollowed out parts of the plane. We need to get out soon. Thanks to Bundara and Vero, which have now joined forces, it is easier for us to beat the robot. Until we made a gap to get out.

Straight away, we ran out of the plane and entered the forest. The robots are chasing. We were a little stranded with close rows of trees. One of the disadvantages of RP-2, they are difficult to move in a narrow area.

But it must be a robot, their intelligence surpasses that of humans. The robot jumps between tree branches like a jaguar. With the hands of a knife blade they easily slashed the branch of the tree that was blocking.

I re-shot the shot. Followed by another. My breaths. Even with a mask, my chest feels tight. Even worse, Marko's hand shook. Handrail stretchable. I'm worried if he faints in this situation.

Did I choose them wrong?

I'm sighing. This is not the time to think no. We need to get out of this situation. Marko was exhausted. Even though I couldn't see her face covered in a helmet, I knew she was in great agony.

The situation is getting worse. My guess is correct. Marko's not strong anymore, he's drooping. Fall thud. Jora exclaimed in surprise. Help him to stand up. We can't go back. With Marko in his current state, we won't be able to leave.

In between the fight, Marko said softly. “Captain, leave me..”

Of course I refused that request. I'm not leaving anyone. I don't want to lose, I don't want the same thing to happen again.

“Lian! We have to leave soon!” Vero began to say.

What am I supposed to do?

I keep thinking. Some RP-2 has started to storm from above.

“We can't linger here, Lian! We can have our ammunition out!” Bundara iku exclaimed.

“Captain, leave me alone!” Marko started sulking.

I'm shaking. I'm not leaving anyone! I gave the order to hold on until Marko recovered. They disagree, but continue to do so. Marko kept telling me to leave him. I don't give a shit. Protect him no matter what. I am the one who takes full responsibility for the safety of all of them. It was I who invited them to join this mission. I am also the captain of this team.

In the midst of our desperate conditions, when Marko had fallen unconscious, when despair began to approach, a miracle came. Out of nowhere it came from, some RP-2 was suddenly destroyed. A mysterious shot fired at the robots. I look around me. People dressed in green with masks arrived. They helped us.

“You guys okay?” Someone approached me. Join in to destroy the robots.

“One of our friends fainted.”

The figure told two colleagues to carry Marko.

“We need to get out of here right away! Follow me!” the figure exclaimed. He told us to follow his steps.

Run them very fast. They looked agile through the trees. We have to use more energy to equalise our pace with them. Some even make jumps between the rocks. They are like acrobats.

Until we were on the brink. I was even surprised to see them descend the abyss without any safety gear.

“Come! You don't want to be preyed upon by those lifeless things, do you?” Tell one of them.

I know that, but how do I get down that cliff? His tilt was even ninety degrees.

Until one of them leads us. I stared in horror down the abyss. Vero even shouted. Bundara remained silent, his face inexplicable. Jora shuddered in horror staring at the bottom of the abyss. Wrong for a bit, we'll end up down there. We continue to tread carefully. I am still amazed by the green troops. They're like ninjas. Jump up and down here and there. There is no doubt.

The remaining RP-2 followed us. Damn, I can't point my gun. I even got tired of holding on to the side of the cliff. However, the green troops casually fired at the robots while descending a steep cliff.

After fifteen minutes, we stopped at a cave on the side of the ravine. The green team used a flashlight as lighting. I could see stalagmites at the bottom of the cave and stalactites hanging from the ceiling. The floor is filled with puddles, making the cave bottom slippery. The mysterious troops can even run even though the cave floor feels slippery.

We arrived at a gate. The gate reminded me of the gate in Keios City. The gate was filled with pictures of trees. The gate opened without any scanning first. We're entering. The gate is back closed. Leave the echo sound that fills the hallway.

We were still tracing the damp cave, the sound of water droplets echoing filled the cave. The more we entered, the floor of the cave was no longer slippery. More like jagged.

“Who are you?” Jora asked. Breaking loose.

“Uy! Just talk later. We should get your friend to the hospital immediately.” Tell one of them.

I scrunched my forehead. Did he just say hospital?

Fifteen minutes walk. We arrived at the end. The light blinds the eyes. I could feel the wind blowing into the cave even using equipment. Once outside the cave, we were treated to an amazing view.

“Welcome to The-pi City!”
