The sunlight scoured through the cracks of the twigs. Brownish colored leaves fall in the wind. The birds humming cheerfully welcomed the increasingly dawning morning. The luster of morning dew hung on the leaves, branches, grasses, windows, and some other places. Slowly falling down like a sparkling diamond. The sun that was crawling up from its hiding place doused the land with its warm light. The light then spilled in one of the simple rooms with an elegant design.
A bunch of light blue iris flowers that were still half in bloom were placed near the window. As soon as the sunlight shines perfectly throughout the room, the flower blooms beautifully. Make anyone who initially glimpsed glare staring at the flower while dumbstruck. Praise how beautiful the flowers are.
I could hear someone entering the room. My fingers began to move. Slowly my eyes began to open. At first my view was blurry, gradually becoming clearer. I tried to get up, but my whole body was like being pierced by thousands of needles. I just realized that my right hand was bandaged. But I forced myself to sit down.
“I told you not to say strange things! He'll definitely wake up! You just underestimated me, huh?”
“Eh! Of course not, Doc.”
The door of the room opens. Two men dressed in white opened the door. They both looked at me. Standing in front of a half-open door. I was also silent to see that figure. For about a minute we looked at each other. Our thoughts are the same. Equally surprised.
A young man standing behind instantly fainted. But the old man in front first approached me with a surprised cry. However, I was even more surprised to learn that the old man was Ruzdora.
“Gosh! It's a miracle!” Ruzdora came up to me while wiping the ends of her eyes.
“How... How can?” My voice's broken.
Ruzdora told me to lie down again. I know what his gaze means. His face was clearly saying, “later the explanation.”
I looked at the young man who had just woken up from a faint at will. He was wearing glasses and seemed to be older than me. He immediately approached Ruzdora.
“Dok, I will call the other nurse and inform the development of the other patients being treated.”
Ruzdora chuckles. “Tuh, you've seen for yourself, right? You don't have to worry. Other patients will wake up in a few days or weeks. A good doctor should always be optimistic under any circumstances. If you are constantly anxious, your patients suffer even more. You understand?”
“Good, Doc.” The nurse exclaimed wrong behavior while rubbing her hair that looked messy.
The nurse left us both in the room. There are so many questions that I want to ask Ruzdora. How could she be here? Or maybe I'm actually in Keios City? No, no, no. I could see the sunlight barging in through the window. Keios City was a city hidden using debris arranged in such a way. Where there is sunlight that can break through the debris.
“You must be wondering where this is, right?” Ruzdora put on her special smile. He still likes to sniggle.
I nodded slowly while lying limp on the bed. Just making a sound is like putting all your energy into it.
“Later I'll tell you. Maybe if you're healthy and able to walk properly. In the meantime you leave your troubles to some prepared agent. Don't put all the tasks on you, son. Sometimes you have to share that burden with others when you can't do it yourself.”
As usual, Ruzdora's words always calm the heart. This time Ruzdora threw a gaze towards the perfectly blooming iris flower by the window. I watched the flowers.
“It turns out it's blooming, huh? Yesterday, the flower was still a flower. Speaking of flowers. I chose blue irises because they have eyes similar to yours, son. In addition, the flower has the meaning of trust and hope. That flower is a symbol of my current feelings, Lian. I strongly believe and hang very high expectations if someday you can free us from the shackles of this misery.” Ruzdora smile.
“Then it seems like I am overdoing it convincing you to do all this. How selfish this old man is to the point of making you so badly injured like this.” Ruzdora's face turned sad.
I shook my head slowly. Of course it's not his fault. I do this of my own volition. I have to thank him for convincing me.
“Will you hear a story?” Ruzdora smiled again. “I always hesitate to tell you. But this time I'll tell you everything.”
I'm speechless. Started to see what story he was going to tell me.
“You must often think that I am an old man who only lives alone in a big house near the prison without having a family, right? At first I didn't live like that. I have a wife and a son. His age may be as good as yours. You guys can definitely become close friends if he's still alive.”
I touched Ruzdora's hand slowly, asking her to stop if she couldn't tell him. Ruzdora shook her head slowly. Put my hand back on the bed.
“I think it would feel better if I told you everything.” Ruzdora continues her story. “My wife was often sickly before she married me. And the disease got worse when my son reached the age of ten years. I was a doctor. The fact that I was a doctor made me figure out a way to cure my wife. Unfortunately, I did not succeed. Wife died. I blame myself a lot.” Ruzdora was silent for a moment. Look at the ceiling of the room.
“Year to change. My son started at fourteen. He grew up to be a good boy. The next problem comes. My son has the same disease as my wife. My greatest fear approached me. I was looking for all the ways to cure him. I don't want to lose. I don't want to be scared. That was my mind at the time. But I knew, I knew the disease would not be cured using the various drugs I created. The cure for this disease is the outside world. A world illuminated by the sun. My son died following my wife.”
Ruzdora looked back at me. Smiling thinly. “You know, Son? Every year I find a patient with the same case. The disease is caused by lack of sunlight. Only certain people escaped this selection. You know why I didn't stop being a doctor after those two painful events? Because I know I'm the chosen one. I was destined to live in order to save some other life. Because I know everyone needs a doctor like me. You're the same, son. You live to be destined to do something.”
I nodded softly. “Thank you, Ruzdora. I've been feeling better.” I smiled thinly.
Ruzdora replied to my sentence with a chuckle. “Oi! Look at! Turns out you're just an ordinary teenager who can still smile.”
A nurse entered the room in a hurry. He even opened the door of the room. Ruzdora looked at him with an angry face.
“Hei! Can't you just knock before you log in?” Ruzdora exclaims ketus.
“Sorry, Doc. Looks like we have a problem. There was a man and a woman who insisted on meeting Lian Clue.”
“Not have I told you not to allow anyone to meet patients who are still in treatment?”
“She said she was her acquaintance. We tried to ban them because the patients were still in treatment, but they insisted on seeing Lian. We are overwhelmed by this problem. It seems that they are quite powerful people in this city.”
Ruzdora rubbed her gray hair. “Alright, let me take care of..”.
Ruzdora's sentence came to a halt as soon as she heard the commotion out there.
“We have to meet him!” Shouted someone in a wet hoarse voice.
“Sorry you can't..”
Ruzdora stood up.His face looked angry. “How dare you behave disrespectfully! Your actions are disturbing our patients!”
I've never seen Ruzdora that angry. But I was more interested in staring at the two strange people who were standing on the door leaf. The only man with a body that looks thick. He was wearing a mask with the shape of an elephant trunk. A reddish-colored beard extends from behind the mask to the chest. He wears small round-shaped glasses with black color. He wears a leather shirt with fur on his arm.
Another was a woman with a thin body. His hair was black and tied to a ponytail. He was wearing black clothes with his arms folded up to his elbows. He was wearing army trousers and black leather boots and a black mask with shark teeth. They both look really flashy. Anyone would have been prejudiced once they saw their appearance.
“LIAN!” The thick-bearded man was about to run towards me. Ruzdora prevented it.
“I don't know who you are. But your actions are absolutely outrageous!” Excited Ruzdora with a fierce face.
“Hei! I have no business with an old doctor like you. I just want to meet the child of my friend.” Said the thick-bearded man casually.
Waita minute! He said the son of his friend! That meant...
“Are you the guy my mom talked about? Thick beard men with iron hands?” I looked at him expectantly.
“AHAHAHA! Aye! That's me!”
Holy hooch!
***
Ruzdora finally allowed the man to talk to me after I asked him myself. But he only gave us five minutes. More than that he would force the two of them out.
“The old doctor really sucks!” The thick beard man murmured.
“You can't insult people carelessly. Your habits are really troublesome. You better get to the point. He only gave fifteen minutes. ” The woman beside him responded in a cold tone.
“Alright, you are also always as cold as ever, Natania. I am Tatu and this woman is Natania. We're both friends of your mother's. How's things? Is she still a naive woman who has always been crazy about research?”
“I told you to stop insulting people, Tattoo!” Natania is more fierce.
“Ok, ok, I get it. So, how's your mom doing?” The tattoo goes back to the sentence.
I breathe out slowly. “My mom has been dead since two years ago.”
That answer was enough to make them shocked half to death. The tattoo glasses almost fell. It shows its gray round eyes.
“Gosh! We don't know it.” Natania put on a sad face.
The room was silent for a moment.
“But my mom gave me a message to see you guys. He told me to go north to a dead city called Batana. And meet the thick-bearded man with an iron fist. He told me to tell you if Zenzen has started moving.” I'm back on the subject.
The tattoo face is back to normal. No, he looks more angry. “Zenzen, yes? I already knew that the thick-browed man would do something big. Something very terrible. Something that will make us live under the darkness. I hate that deceitful man. I need more detailed information, Lian. What else did your mother say at the time?”
I thought for a moment. Look at the ceiling of the room. “She said I was the only one who could save the world. He had also previously told me about the Border Guard Robot. We were in a hurry at that time because the bandits were chasing us.”
“So apparently. Your mother asked us to stop the Border Guard Robot before Zenzen did anything that could harm humanity. Lian, I know you must have met Zenzen in person. Tell me what he's like?”
I'm nodding. “He is very strong. It seems that he is a half-robotic human or commonly called a cyborg. He could even stop thousands of bullets in one fell swoop. I fought directly with him, even with the help of my friends. It's just I don't know if he's alive or not.”
“Hei! If you say that, you must be great at fighting it. How do you fight him? Do you use a special strategy? Or do you have a secret anti-Zenzen weapon?”
“Not,” I deny the sentence. “My mother planted some kind of chip-shaped device right on the back of my body. I can't explain it in theory or logic. What is clear is that the tool makes me have tens of times the power of ordinary humans. It's just that I can't show it right now in front of you. As you can see, I was badly injured in the fight. However, I know that Zenzen is stronger than me. And he will not lose easily in the fight of that time.”
“Time out.” Ruzdora enters the room. His face looks riled up.
“Hey, Man! Time you give too little.” Complain Tattoo with a flat face.
“Already, Tattoo. We can come back here if Lian's condition is better. Just tell me what you're coming for.” Natania tried to persuade him.
The tattoo was disappointed. “Good. Lian, if you're fully recovered, don't forget to call me.” The tattoo handed me a piece of paper. His face still looks disappointed.
They both moved out of their place. Ruzdora stared at the two strangely dressed men. They both left the room. Ruzdora shook her head slowly.
“This world is really full of naive people.” Ruzdora Mumbles.
I stared enthusiastically at the paper that the tattoo gave me. I want to get well soon and meet her again.
