The Destruction of Batana

The Destruction of Batana
BIONICS 2

“I heard you got an award when you went to Keios City. Is that true, son?”

I nodded steadily. “Yeah, I got an award in architecture and geology.”

“Tell me how you can get the award.”

“I just expressed my idea to build a city covered by building debris with a camouflage theory. The government and the higher-ups there are interested in my explanation of the city under the rubble.”

“That's it?”

I shrugged my shoulders. That's what happened. I just explained my argument to them and they liked it. What else do I have to tell you.

Ador shook his head. “Two years have passed but your attitude and behavior are still the same when you were twelve. At least tell me how the city looks and the people there.”

I breathe out slowly. “Nothing interesting. Their city is almost similar to ours. I think it's even smaller than this town. It took about a week to get to the city.”

“Sunday? Just right?”

I'm nodding. Reaffirms Ador's question. “We have to transit in several countries to reach the city. It is located on the Asian continent. One of the most distant continents of our country. The continent itself was formed as a result of a devastating earthquake that occurred in the twenty-second century. The continent is thousands of miles from our continent. Plus the continent is across the Paslanfic ocean which is known as the deadliest ocean in the world. Therefore the flight path is made to rotate to avoid the ocean. Which means we have to transit in various countries and cities.”

Ador nodded in understanding. “Why are they interested in your theory about the camouflage city?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Entailah, just ask them.”

Ador patted his eel. “OK, you're starting to sound annoying.”

I just smiled knotty.

Be us eating a variety of dishes until the toilet is not left. This little party made me almost forget my original purpose here.

“Ador, there's something I want to ask you.”

Ador who was cleaning the dishes came to a halt and looked at me. “Hey, usually you use the word ‘anda’ but today you are very relaxed to me like a friend. May your life in the academy already make you think old enough to call me without using the word ‘anda’?”

I wave my hand. “Like-sukaku want to mention ‘anda’ or ‘kau’. There are no regulations in this country regarding the style of language with older people. There's something important I want to ask you.”

“Alright, you are always right. What do you want to ask?” Said Ador while sitting on a chair and crossed his hands in front of his chest.

“This is what you said three years ago. About my bionic physical formation which can only happen when I reach fifteen years old.”

Ador rolled his eyeballs and held his chin. It was obvious that he was thinking hard.

I almost patted my head. It seems Ador started to get forgetful disease. If he completely forgot it would be a serious matter. I'll never know what he meant two years ago.

Ador chuckles. “It looks like I managed to trick you. I'm just kidding, kid. Of course I remember that.”

I laugh. “I've guessed you tried to trick me.” Although I really do not like to joke but I have to match my style with Ador to make him continue to believe in me.

“But let's talk about it in the simulation room. I don't want the other kids to hear this important talk. It would be a serious matter if there were other children listening to this talk.”

Arriving in the simulation room, Ador began to explain about the bionic body. I sit on the floor. Relaxedly listen to his lengthy explanation of my bionic body.

“Before I explain the matter, I want you to show me the shield you trained first.”

I'm nodding. That's a very easy thing. It's as easy as flicking a finger. Hexagaon-shaped holograms started popping up around me. I don't get a lot of thoughts out. It was as if the shields were working naturally. Ador nodded in amazement as he chuckled.

“We will not know if the shield is exactly the same as three years ago before trying it.”

I smiled knot. Of course this shield will be different.

Ten baseballs were thrown simultaneously at me. All the balls bounce so touching the shields. I crossed my hands on my chest. Act like I'm on a different level.

“No problem. Any challenge I will definitely go through easily.”

This time three ferocious beast robots began to be activated. The robots were grinding for a moment. His round eyes were like the lens of a bright camera as if looking at me with a hungry look. I just sat in my position without moving. Ador ordered the three robots to attack me simultaneously through three different points. I quickly formed a giant shield and pushed the three robots together, all three of them bouncing and crashing into the wall then lying down and not moving in the slightest.

“I'm still not satisfied, Boy.”Ador smiled cunningly.

This time four long-barreled rifles appeared at four different points. I started to stand up from where I was sitting and stared at the four rifles. Ador rushed outside the room and watched through the window that was on the side of the room. As soon as Ador gave the order to the four rifles, bullets were fired. I casually made four shields surround my surroundings. The bullets were then reflected and scattered on the floor.

“It's very easy, Ador.”

Ador laughed crisply. “You are indeed a child full of surprises.”

“But it's so unexpected that you'll actually kill me using those bullets. What do you think of me, a thing? Or doll?” I squinted my eyes. Looked at him with a cynical look.

Ador waved his hand and went back inside the room. “Of course it's not a real bullet. It was just a rubber bullet fired at the speed of a sniper rifle. There's no way I'm creating a dangerous tool to kill someone. But if you know, the bullet could bruise you for a month if it hits you. That's what happened to me when I made it. The tool accidentally shot my thigh.” Ador rubbed his thigh while grimacing in pain. He was doing a scene based on the story he was telling. “It hurts so much, son. I haven't even walked for a month. Forced to use a wheelchair. If you don't believe me, you can ask the other kids.”

“What is that tool also for testing other kids?”

“Of course not. The other kids can't be compared to you, Zenzen. Humans are born with different abilities. And children like you are very rare in this world. Only a few have abilities like you. That's why you should be grateful for what you have.”

I smiled smirkingly. He looked at her with a probing look. “So you made that rifle special for me?”

Ador cleared his throat for a moment and allowed his glasses. “It doesn't matter now. It's time to restart your disconnected lessons for two years. Huh.... It's unexpected that it's been two years since you first entered the academy. Time passes very quickly. I'm getting older and you're getting better. And today you will get one more greatness.”

I didn't respond to his chatter. Ador has always been. He always started his explanation by babbling for a moment.

“You remember what happened when you were twelve years old when you destroyed a robot using internal energy?”

I rolled my eyeballs. “You mean the energy that gives off the orange-colored dim light that appears when I clench my hand?”

Ador nodded. “Did you ever use it again after the incident?”

I held my chin. Also true. I never used it again after the simulation. Maybe it was because Ador simplified my bionic body for a while that I forgot that my bionic body had such a system. Plus Ador made me a new body, which is why I was made to forget about it.

I shook my head in response to Ador's question.

“I guessed. But it doesn't matter. With you now I can definitely reactivate the system. Think back to how you did it.”

I nodded and tried to clench my hand. I closed my eyes and began to focus my mind. Trying to get WAVE's energy right into my hands. When I opened my eyes, it was not the power that appeared but the hexagon shield.

Ador patted his eel. I'm sure he's very disappointed in me. Maybe he thought I'd easily do it because I did it once in my first simulation.

I scratched my head that wasn't itchy. Why did I forget how I did that? I am sure I can do it very easily.

I stared at Ador while pointing at my right palm. “It looks like this bionic body is already broken. Or maybe you're trying to trick me? You definitely didn't add that feature, did you?”

Ador rubbed his forehead. “It's not his broken bionic body but his broken you, boy. Okay, inevitably I have to make you recall how you felt when releasing that energy.”

Ador is replaying a simulation I did three years ago.

But the results are very different to what I did three years ago. I can beat these robots very easily. I didn't even have to bother using transparent shields to protect myself from those attacks. Either because this bionic body is too overpowering or indeed this is purely from myself. It's just that energy doesn't come out.

“Stop!”Ador finally stopped the simulation.
