The Destruction of Batana

The Destruction of Batana
TRAVEL 3

“Lian, have you ever wished to go to space there?’

A girl about 7 years old was looking at me. His eyes were covered in brownish hair. The air feels cool and peaceful. Throwing dry leaves that fall around us.

“I really want to get there.” The girl returned. This time I could see her eyes hidden under her hair.

“You sure you want to go there?” I asked reassuringly.

However, the girl had not yet retaliated. I can only hear someone calling my name. Increasingly clear.

“Lian!”

Eyes open. The sunlight seemed to pierce the eyes. I'm still gnawing. How surprised I am. It was my mother who woke me up.

“What happened?” My body feels weak, my lips are dry. Sweat soaks the forehead.

“Lian, You have to leave immediately!”

I don't get it. My head still hurts. Liana still fainted.

“Lian, listen! I'll give you a message. Sometimes the clues can come from us. Go north and find a dead city called Batana. Meet the thick-bearded man with an iron fist. Send a message if Zenzen has moved.”

“Lantas how about Mom?” I asked worriedly. Mom was silent for a moment. Handed me a gun and a backpack.

“Lian, only you can continue this journey. Mother's mistakes in the past were too much for Mother to bear. I want to try to fix it. So, let Mother face them.”

“Facing sia..” My words stopped as soon as I heard the gunshots. His voice split the sky.

“Lian, this is Mom's last message. Only you can save the world. Keep that in mind! ”

Without saying any more. Mom ran away from us. I tried to stand up. Trying following. My legs no longer seem to be forced to move. It happened so fast. I could only stare at the mother's back which was getting away. Ask in the heart. Is this a farewell?

I'm back on foot. A while later Liana who was in my arms woke up.

“We will find a safe place, Liana. Sister swear.” I answered firmly. Trying to cheer him up.

“Where's Mom?”

This time I was silent for a moment. So I decided to lie. I don't want him to feel sad.

“Kakak doesn't know either, Liana. But if we have found the nearest city, sister promised to find mother.” I don't know why I feel so claustrophobic. Given the incident, my mother just left us. I immediately disturbed that thought. I'm sure mom has a reason.

“Sister, I'm hungry. My stomach hurts,” Liana complained. I took it off my back. At least mom left us a backpack. I checked the contents. Smiling thinly. There are some foods available. I offered a bread. He grabbed. Eat it with gourd.

We're back on foot. Liana I no longer carry. He decided to walk on his own, feeling bad for me. We don't talk much. I thought more of all of Mom's words. About a town called Batana. I never heard the name of the city. And also Zenzen. Who is that guy? Could it be the thick-browed bandit I met in the village? Upset at not understanding all of Mom's words, I chose to look around.

Along the way, we were treated to several abandoned buildings. I never knew if outside our village there was still a lot of building debris. We paved the path. Liana did not complain much. He seemed to enjoy the journey. Sometimes we rest. Chat for a moment, throw jokes. Then go back on the journey. The sun started to sink. We need to find a shelter soon.

I thought our trip would go well. But that night I saw something that would be my greatest fear. Makes the night feel long.  And dreams are like endless torture. That night, we saw something we shouldn't have seen. Border Guard Robot.

Again I heard the sound of gunfire splitting the sky. Her voice was loud, to the extent that Liana gasped in shock at hearing it. Hugged me tight. We decided to hide in the rubble of the building. I don't know why the atmosphere feels so bad. Crickets and other night animals fell silent. It was as if they were hiding from something.  I thought it was a bandit. But my guess is wrong.

When I was busy peeping. A pair of red eyes looked at me from behind the crack where I was peering. I'm appalled. Quickly grabbing Liana's hand. Running fast. Straight away, the robot was chasing mercilessly. The sound of the engine rattling along with its steps. I didn't notice how it looked. The gunshot must have been from the robot.

My right hand was busy holding the weapon while my left hand was tightly grasping Liana's hand. I kept on exclaiming to Liana to speed up her pace. We tried to run through the cracks of the building. I wish the robot had trouble chasing us. Several times my body was hit by scratches from building debris. Scuffed there scuffed here. At least Liana wasn't that difficult. With his small body it was easy for him to move in a tight spot. Until we accidentally stepped on fragile debris.

We both fell. My arm hit the sharp rocks. Fresh blood is pouring out. I grimaced in pain. I can still hear the engine around us. My breath's stuck. I can only hope we survive. I closed my eyes. My heart is beating fast.

Hope granted. The engine sounds further and further away. Leave the night beast humming back.

I immediately ran towards Liana's body. He's sprawled not far from me. I was surprised to find his head bleeding. I called out in panic. Trying to call his name. I hope he opens his eyes. I checked his pulse and his breath. He's still breathing. I quickly picked up a bandage in my backpack. Wrap it in his head
