Chap. 8: Short Streets

"Hoaamm …."

I yawned because the house was very boring at this time. Even though I was in front of the TV while watching the morning cartoon show, but it still could not relieve my boredom today.

Yesterday was a very exhausting day for me. There are so many things that happen in a day that usually never happen in a person's life. The first was late and then there was an impromptu replay, and then after that my friend was possessed by a strange creature of unknown type.

I switched the cartoon TV channel this morning to a newscast, and I could see my school on TV. Not because of winning the race or other achievements, but because of yesterday's strange explosion.

"Veople, you can see here the rooftop section of the Keisatsu School was completely destroyed and blackened like someone had detonated a bomb up there."

Yep. What the reporter said was almost true, the explosion did look like a bomb but what created it was not a bomb at all. I can only smile at the ignorance of outsiders about things like this.

And now here I am, lying on the couch watching TV. As a result of the Hasuki-san incident yesterday, the school was closed for the next few days until at least all the places were ensured safe for students to study.

Police and journalists also gathered there to investigate the remains of the bomb, although it was certain they would not find it there.

As for Hasuki-san herself, when I asked her what made her possessed by such a black fog-like creature, she could not answer. He did not remember when he was controlled by the creature and everything was as dark as it was for him.

I know my life used to be boring, but right now I really miss it. Just doing things over and over again, it was all so much fun for me. But nature says something else.

He hinted to the other two to take the office man to a quieter place so that whatever they would do to him would be smoother and they went to a small alley nearby them.

I peeked into the alley and saw the man being cornered by the three debt collectors. This is gonna be fun.

The three of them then instantly reflexively pulled out a gun when they saw the huge beast—dog. And shot him blindly and indiscriminately.

But gun shots like that have no effect on them. There were indeed some who hit it, but it actually made the big dog even more angry.

"Damn! Let's get out of here!"

They also tried to run away from the alley leaving the office man alone. But they could not be that easy to escape, because they had already provoked the creature's fury.

The big dog jumped to prevent the three collectors from escaping. While the three of them were already unable to do anything, just tried to fight back with their pistols which had no impact whatsoever.

The cry of the debt collector immediately stopped because the big dog had bitten his head until it broke up. Seeing his friend dead, desperately two other people immediately threw a blind attack on the dog, but their lives were not saved from the beginning.

Now all that's left is that office guy. The big dog approached the man with fresh blood still dripping from his mouth, he seemed resigned and gave up on escaping. Even though I can see him smiling with relief.

When the dog wanted to attack again, I immediately ran and pushed the dog's body so that it hit the wall of the alley. It's not a debt issue anymore, so I can interfere now.

"What ... are you doing?" ask the man confused.

After being struck twice, the big dog paused for a bit and looked at me with a grudge. He finally escaped from there and we both survived. I breathed a sigh of relief and went back to the office man earlier.

I did not answer C. Looks like I'll be back home now, enough sightseeing for today. Besides, if I stay here too long, I could be accused of being the suspect who killed them.

I glanced at the corpses of the debtors. Their bodies were mostly incomplete and lying on their own pools of blood.
