84. Love

"Varen," I said as I continued to step with him. Varen led me into a quiet forest, I really did not feel a single sacred animal life here, but it did not feel terrible at all because my eyes were sedated by the beauty of all the unique wild plants. "You always listen to me wholeheartedly, what if this time it's my turn to listen to you?"

Varen slowed down, so we could talk to each other while enjoying the view, "what do you want to hear baby?"

"All that's on your mind" I said with a smile on her, honestly I was curious about everything about her.

"All the things I have in mind are you and about you, you'll get tired of hearing them" Varen snuck the jail.

I pinched his arm lightly but managed to make Varen grimace, "i think I will quickly be immune to your fighting!" I hugged Varen's arm, as I continued to walk into the forest with small, slow steps. "What kind of country do you want to build?"

Varen stared around, but his hand tightened the grip, "I want a land without caste."

My steps stopped, "what is it? I've just heard it."

Varen turned his body towards me, "the country where the people are the emperor, the country that always prioritizes the interests of the people."

"The people who became emperors?"

Varen nodded, "I think I want a government that is not hereditary." Varen looked at me fixedly, "of course I need your consideration."

"Then explain so that I can know what you mean clearly" I said, filled with curiosity. What idea is dominating the head of this person I love?

"I don't want to make the golden ring an empire ruled by an emperor and empress whose power is passed down through generations." Varen flicked his finger until a mat appeared on the grass, he led me and let me sit on the carpet, and he sat beside me. I feel like this conversation is going to be long.

"I want a people-centered country, where the leader is the one elected by the people, I want everyone to have equal rights, obligations and positions, without caste," Varen seemed to express the idea that he longed for.

I thought hard before expressing my opinion, this is a new idea that has never occurred to me, but the caste removal system that Varen spoke of intrigued me.

"So in other words if caste is abolished then everyone will have the same position, and that makes everyone in this country will have the right to be a leader right?" my question was to make sure that what I caught was in line with what Varen was thinking.

"Yes, that's what I think."

It was a good idea, but a lot of things bothered me until my forehead frowned. "But Varen, in the small scope of the imperial family there is often a struggle for power, especially if the scale is a crowd, is not the chance of a power struggle getting bigger?"

"I agree with the abolition of caste, because all this time I observed many people who are talented and very potentially exceed me, but they are hampered by caste, because of caste, if caste is abolished, everyone has the right to explore their abilities, without any more high walls in the way" I agreed.

"So you're supporting me?"

I nodded, "if you take responsibility and promise not to give up."

Varen clasped my hands together, "of course I have to take responsibility, let alone having you beside me, I have promised to make you happy, and if this idea doesn't make you happy, then I won't make it happen."

"I just want to be the initiator and help set it up, but I don't want us to be the executors" Varen held onto both of my shoulders. "We are immortal Aira, while the people who will come to this country are human."

I nodded, "what do you mean immortal?"

Varen let out a long sigh, "like our family and the royal higher-ups in the four empires we know, the empires of sun, silver, moon and stars, are all immortal beings, not least the two of us."

I tried to digest Varen's words and connect them with those around me, "you said that you and I are immortal? that we are not ordinary humans who can age naturally?"

"Aira, I want our little family to start life again as outlined and restore the order of life as it should." Varen looked at me fixedly, "are you willing to come with me?"

"Why keep asking when our marriage is counting days?" I looked at him with annoyance. "If I hadn't asked, maybe I could have died standing because of you!"

"You're not going to die, you're immortal like me," Varen teased me with a stern and hearty look.

"Varen!" I yelled in annoyance and beat his chest, "oh my goodness how many secrets do you still keep?"

"Why are you in such a hurry, honey? Wait until we get married, then you'll know for yourself! Haha...."

I pouted at her who kept turning the conversation into a pesky joke, I pinched her arm hard, "oh my goodness you're so upset today!"

"Aw!" Varen stroked his reddened arm, but in just a moment he looked back at me with a serious look. He moved and changed his sitting position to rest by bending one leg in front of me.

"Aira Airlangga I love you and will always try to make you happy, then will you marry me?" varen's hand took out the ring box from his shirt pocket and opened it.

A sparkling diamond ring fascinated me, at first glance it certainly looks like an ordinary ring but if I use my god's eyes, it's like, the diamond was like an ice clot that encompassed a hint of an aura of darkness and light blending into one within it, a ring that was the only one in nature, he said, because it can only be made by the man in front of me.

"I am Aira Airlangga ready to marry my chosen man, Varen Vijendra."

My heart was pounding, my doubts evaporating as Varen put the ring on the ring finger of my right hand. I felt such great love in my heart, Varen kissed the back of my hand, and we tried to stand together.

I cupped my hands together on Varen's handsome face, "i promise to always be by your side in hard or happy, in good health or in pain." I tiptoed and kissed her on the forehead, "i promise to be always by your side and with you forever, dear."

Varen seemed happy to hear me call her dear for the first time, there was a happy smile emanating on her face. Varen kissed me deeply, this time he seemed to want me to know that he really imbued me with all his heart and life. I enjoyed the touch and received all the love Varen gave me, I closed my eyes, I didn't know what was waiting for us tomorrow, but I'm happy because I know for sure today that I chose the right man.
