"What the fuck?"
"Yah—you know, Erine-san..."
The conversation started with Erine's voice being too loud in shock that it attracted the attention of some of the people who were there.
Hizashi submitted the form he filled out to Erine. He felt that there was nothing wrong with his charging. Another story when asked about weapons. He wrote "don't know" in the form.
"Shu Hizashi, you don't know what your weapon is and what you're wearing?" erine couldn't believe it.
"Just like that....I'm just using a book..." Hizashi answered slowly.
"A book?"
A look of disbelief flashed on Erine as she asked about Hizashi's weapon. Hizashi explained everything about the book he brought.
"So, I used this book and wrote everything about my abilities and the other information in it." he explained.
"It's hard to believe you're 'Bookmagus'." said Erine holding her glasses while looking back at Hizashi's book.
"Bookmagic?"
"People who use magic with books. It should be that in this kingdom such people are extinct. They are too old-fashioned and impractical in a fight." continued Erine.
"Why is that?"
"They were killed because of their ineffectiveness in killing monsters in the field or dungeon. They then switched to another weapon" Erine said.
"Indeed, if I use the book I feel that I have indirectly cast a spell. But it feels very long.." continued Hizashi.
Erine sighed and looked at Hizashi anxiously.
"Erine-san?" Hizashi.
"Listen well, from now on, things get tough. Most people don't want to accept a Bookmagus like you in his guild" Erine said. "You'll be considered just a burden."
"Yes. I understand." replied Hizashi.
Then Erine gave a card to Hizashi. The card only seemed to be his name, level, and status.
"That card will change if you level up or get a title by yourself." Erin explained.
Hizashi took his card and kept it in a book. He does not want the card that holds the identity to be lost or dropped.
"Alright, Erine-san. I'll go first."
"Yes. Be careful on the road." said Erine with a smile.
Hizashi left from there, while Erine waved to him. Erine was back at the service of the adventurers who signed up.
"...hopefully lucky...Shu Hizashi." said Erine who was a little anxious.
***
Hizashi is still in the United Hall complex. More precisely he was in the guild assembly complex and mission. There was a place where new adventurers were looking for guilds.
As Erine had said, the Bookmagus adventurer would find it difficult to obtain a guild. But he did not immediately believe and wanted to prove the words of Erine.
"Erine-san said that Bookmagus like me is hard to get a guild, right? I'd better try first" Hizashi said.
He searched around the crowd of adventurers who were gathering and looking for enemies. Then he arrived at the mission and guild search board.
"Hmm..which guild should I choose?." he murmured.
He observed a board covered with many recruitment brochures from several guilds ranging from small to large.
He reached the guild that he had written several brochures, the Favost Guild. The leader was Bethel Favost, an adventurer with a spear.
"Guild Favost, huh? I'd better get there first.."
Then he raised his gaze to a young man with an ideal body and a decent appearance. Her brown hair was collected on one side — Bethel Favost, a guild leader whose guild glimpsed Hizashi.
"...That's the guy?"
Hizashi walked towards Favost. It just so happened that he was in a bar run by the United Hall, so it was in the same building. He looks with his members.
"Excuse me.." said Hizashi.
Favost and his friends turned to Hizashi.
"I saw that you needed a member" continued Hizashi.
Favost looked at him sharply and meticulously glanced at him. He himself is quite selective in choosing members. Even so, he was open to everyone willing to join his guild.
"...Your name?.."
"Shu—Hizashi. My name is Shu Hizashi."
"Hm..Shu Hizashi.
Favost closed his eyes for a moment and thought hard to decide if he was chosen or not.
"..You're.escaping." said Favost with a smile.
"really?" ask Hizashi.
"Yes" she answered briefly.
There was a slightly relieved expression on Hizashi. He was pleased that Erine's suspicions and warnings at Hall were not true.
— At least it should be.
The book that became his tool he put beside his waist a little backwards. Closed by his jacket.
— However, suddenly a bartender accidentally bumped into him.
"Ouch! A—ah—Sorry!"
"Em—it's okay..."
Then, the book that became Hizashi's tool fell. All the adventurers who were there raised their eyes to the fallen book.
Hizashi then took the book back and put it on his back waist.
"...You're.....Bookmagus?." asked Favost with a displeased look on his face.
"Eh? Yep. I'm a Bookmagus..."
The mood was silent for a moment.
"You're not welcome! Get the fuck off me!" Favost.
"But why?" ask Hizashi.
"Bookmagus like you don't need to be in my guild!" shouts Favost.
"Huh?" Hizashi seems to need a reason why he was rejected.
"Oi, didn't you hear? Go!" Favost.
Hizashi only went back into silence with a shocked expression. Favost and his guild looked at him in anger, then left from there.
The adventurers who were there also looked at him that way. Then they left him, some turned themselves away from Hizashi, some even said themselves.
"..Basic Bookmagus...."
"...Satan walked...."
"...Just leave him alone..."
There were no faces and expressions left to him. He walked out of the room with a little brisk walking.
***
"...So that's Bookmagus, huh?..."
"...Careful, maybe he'll kill again..."
He paid no heed to the ravings of the inhabitants and continued to walk past them.
As Hizashi initially suspected, rumors about him spread quickly. People who were not adventurers stayed away from him. He feels isolated.
"I guessed it, Erine-san was right.." he muttered furiously.
Erine said that Bookmagus is the burden of adventurers. However, it is very strange that the behavior is stereotyped to the entire Bookmagus.
— Something is suspicious.
At least that is Hizashi's view of the circumstances and the accusations to the whole Bookmagus. There is a power behind all this.
Hizashi has arrived at the outskirts of the city. As the day had begun to twilight, he decided to look for lodging.
"It's getting dark, I better find some lodging.."
Then he headed to a residential area next to him that read lodging.
