Vampires (part 2)

The sound of footsteps could be heard in the darkness of the night. Tracing the streets of the city of Bluelagoon is very, very quiet. There were 5 young men walking on alert, afraid of a surprise attack from the enemy.

At 10pm in the town square of Bluelagoon, it's our second night in town after a week of practice at the Magic Assosiation headquarters. This is not our usual daily routine, wandering around at night without the knowledge of others.

We're moving to ReVoid's temporary headquarters. It was quite far from the Bathory residence, where we had met before. Seeing Elie and Liana sneaking out of the mansion made us believe that they left without permission. I can't believe Liana was so strict about the rules that she slipped out like that.

"Brrr..I didn't think the night could be this cold...." Complain Elie.

"You can't afford it?"

"Of course I can! Don't underestimate me, Zayn. You know I've been training hard for this?!"

"Yes, whatever it is...." My reply.

"But yeah, if it's this cold it could be bad too." Kayn also commented. "It can be dangerous if our physical condition decreases while on a mission."

"Kayn's right, so take good care of yourself." Continue Liana.

"You don't have a problem with this Liana?" My toot.

"No problem. I don't feel cold at all. I think it's the effect of my demon change." The answer.

"Heh, the weak will Fiera stay."

"Don't say as if you're Fiera's leader...."

We walked for five minutes. The temperature in this winter is quite extreme. Even those of us who have been protected by magic still feel a little cold.

"Hey Zayn..you're sure this is the way, right?" Tegur Kayn's. "Look at me you suck at memorizing the street. Maybe we're lost?"

"Eh?! Really?!" Elie was hysterically screaming.

A few minutes later, the light from the ReVoid camp light began to be visible. Some people also seem to be busy with their own business. It seems their work has already begun. Civilians are also not seen. It looks like they are obediently closing and locking every corner of their respective home rooms. That's pretty much easing our job. It could get worse later if there are civilians hanging around.

"Zay! Fiera! Over here!!"

The sound of screaming stole my attention. There Shiki and Aoi are preparing with their own equipment. We also approached them immediately.

After calming them down for almost two minutes, we were finally able to continue the initial introduction comfortably.

"My name is Shiki Mikoto, and this is my sister—"

"Aoi Mikoto, greetings...." Cut Aoi.

"They're the guides I told you about at that time Kayn. From this moment on we will move under their guidance." My speech. Kayn nodded in understanding.

"Yes I know. But still I'm quite surprised." Reply Liana again. "My name is Liliana Rosweiss. The Magic Knight No 14 The Diabolic. You can call me Liana like Kayn and the others call me."

"Yes of course."

"My name is Elizabeth Bathory, Magic Knight No 15 The Stalwart. Call me Elie. And remember, Zayn is my girlfriend. Never go near it."

"Please stop that Elie. If you keep this up, how could you possibly have a friend." My speech.

"You sure you told me that, Zayn? The one who helped you make this friend?"

"Whatever...."

"My name is Kayn Endarker, Magic Knight No 12 The Holy. Please guide her."

"Fiera is Fiera. Magic Knight No 09 The Sniper!"

"You introduced yourself yesterday Fiera...." Narrator.

"Well, seeing the others introduce themselves is pretty cool. Fiera wants to follow."

"Are you a child?"

After everyone finished introducing themselves, Shiki then looked at me with a smile.

"What's Shiki?" My toot.

"Well, there's nothing. I just didn't think you could have a twin."

"The reincarnation?"

Shit, what's he doing?! Didn't we agree to keep it a secret?!

I quickly grabbed Shiki's shoulder, whispering to her.

"Don't say it in front of someone fucking! If they hear it I might be considered a fantasy freak!" My whisper.

Shiki was flinched, as if she had just realized something. He held up his thumb and smiled regretfully. I also back off.

"Well, I'm sorry I was just joking. Don't take it seriously." Shiki smiled broadly. It was as if he was telling me that he had completely forgotten about our agreement yesterday.

He approached Kayn.

"So let me guess, you must be Zayn's twin brother, right?" Ask.

"You're aware of it."

"Of course, your aura as a big brother is very strong. Because I'm also a big brother so I'm instantly aware of it." Shiki.

"Hahaha, so yes. I understand that." Reply Kayn.

"justified? The aura of a big brother is indeed different."

I don't understand what they're talking about at all. Moreover, since when did Kayn and Shiki become so familiar?

After a short conversation for almost 5 minutes, it had finally arrived the moment we started the first task.

"I'll ask you one thing before. You can all fight, right?" Ask Shiki.

"Well, at least 4 of us can fight. But when it comes to self-defense, we can all." Answer Kayn.

"That's enough. Then let's start your first assignment." Shiki. "We will split up into 2 groups. Kayn, Liana, Fiera. You guys come with me."

"The rest, Zayn and Elie will be coming with Aoi."

"Good."

"But before that, you should be given a Void first." Aoi Sahut.

Ah, that's right too! The core of the attacker is the Void. Without Void we can't do anything.

This is the first time I've seen Void with my own eyes. Shiki and Aoi drain the Void in their bodies through physical touch. Immediately I saw a black colored aura emerge from within their bodies, flowing into our bodies. Stranger powers began to be felt all over my body. Void energy spreads in each of my veins. Like a strengthening magic, our bodies feel so fresh, even this extreme cold feels normal to us. So this was the reason why all the ReVoid members could act as usual in the midst of the extreme cold.

"The Void delivery is complete. Let me warn you again. When facing vampires, teamwork and quick reflexes are needed. That's because vampires have speed, agility, hunting instincts, and powers that are beyond human common sense. A one-on-one duel with them was the worst idea. So as much as possible avoid them if you are alone. Never underestimate them. Always look around, because vampires are night creatures it is certain they will benefit greatly here. Be careful and trust your colleagues...." Obviously Aoi.

"Vampires have very fast regeneration. If a part of their body is cut off, they just need to reconnect it as before." Shiki. "If you've ever faced it, you'll know it. Isn't that Zayn, Fiera?"

Me and Fiera nodded. What Shiki said was true. Their regeneration is arguably too fast. Plus their speed and agility is something that ordinary humans cannot do.

"To kill them, target their heart." Say Shiki again.

"Then we start this operation." Aoi.
