The Voracity Kingdom

After a long period of preparation, Elie and Liana were finally ready to leave. Armed with two bags containing several supplies, Elie and Liana who had obtained permission from Elie's parents moved to meet us in front of the house.

After a few words from her parents, we went back to my house and Kayn.

"I'm a little nervous ... Are we really going to the kingdom of Voracity?" Ask Liana.

"Yes, that's what Hughess said. He never jokes about this, which means everything he says is true" I replied.

"Have you guys been there before?" Ask Elie. I'm shaking.

"Yg often there is just Uncle Oliver. There may have been other members, just that we never talked about it" Kayn replied.

"Well, because Magic Assosiation is not accepted there," I said. "Not only that, reportedly even the witches were not treated well in the kingdom."

"E-uh?! Right one?!" Elie and Liana asked in shock.

"Calm down, it's just a rumor. But just in case, you better not use magic unless you're desperate, or when no one else sees you" Kayn said, calming them both down.

"It's not just difficult enough, it's very difficult especially for beginners like the two of you" Kayn said. He breathed heavily. "Huuh .. I still don't understand why Uncle Oliver put us on a mission like this ...."

After a few minutes, we finally arrived home. It seemed like thanks to the direction from Hughess, Fiera was able to prepare all our necessities as long as we went to Elie's house. It makes it easier for us, this way our work is a little reduced.

Before actually departing, Hughess and Zero will return to explain the details of the mission to all of us. The goal is to make it clear that no mistakes occur during the mission.

As already mentioned, Kayn and Fiera will split up and head straight for the southeastern coast of the Voracity kingdom. The goal is to investigate the weirdness that happened there. And if possible, they will immediately overcome it.

And the rest of me, Elie, Liana, and Hughess will sneak into the royal capital of Voracity, the city of Voracity. There we will meet one of the spies who is also our partner. I've never heard of a spy other than Osamu, and it makes me wonder what kind of person we're going to meet this time.

Our goal is to seek information from within the kingdom itself. And move when an oddity like the appearance of another demon is heard. And of course, we will move silently. In addition, as much as possible we have to keep our distance from the Imperial Paladins who are in the city. As their arch-enemy, if we were caught we might be killed. I really hope not to meet any of them.

After explaining at length, we were finally ready to leave.

"Remember this, I will only escort you all the way to the borders of the kingdom. After that it's up to you guys" Zero said. "I have never and will not go to that kingdom, so don't ask me why I can't take you all the way to town."

"Yes yes, we know. Besides, you're a confinement," I said.

"Then, good luck," Zero said. "Teleport!"

After saying those words, as usual a teleportation magic circle appeared under our feet. It seems very rushed, but since we are prepared, why not? I'm also a little curious about our destination this time. What the look of the spies we will meet, and stretch what conditions we will experience later. About that, who knows for sure.

Seconds after activating Zero's teleportation magic, we appeared at a plateau. It looks like this is a mountainous region lined up on the border between the Voracity kingdom and the Bluelagoon kingdom. And unlike I imagined, it turns out that it's very green around here. Although it is a rocky mountain range, down there we can see a very dense forest. And from this height, we could see a small town. It was not the city where we were going, but at least with that we could ask the surrounding residents and hire a ride to the city of Voracity.

"Woah, I think Voracity is an arid place. Who would have thought if it turned out to be green like this," I said.

"Where do you conclude that Voracity is an arid place?" Ask Kayn.

"Nonsense."

"Well, I don't know where you got that feeling. Just so you know, the kingdom of Voracity is famous for the resources that come from its forests. And with that fact, you still think that Voracity is arid?" Hughess. I was a little embarrassed, because I had not learned anything about general knowledge like this.

"Well, it's my fault" I replied. "So, what are we gonna do now?"

"Are we going to the city? It looks like there is a pretty crowded city" suggested Elie while pointing towards the city in the distance.

"I think it should be. We need information and a ride. A walk to the city of Voracity is a careless idea" I said.

"Hm, Fiera agrees with Zayn. After all, walking is exhausting" continued Fiera.

"Just tell me you don't want to be tired, Fiera," Elie said.

"That's true, but the main reason is because Zayn proposed." I don't know why Fiera can answer like that with pride.

Like Zero, Fiera sucks too. But his shitty level is on a higher level. If Zero can think rationally, Fiera is just an empty-brained girl, though not entirely empty.

As I proposed, the six of us rushed to the city we saw from the mountains. Getting down would be troublesome if Hughess had not helped us with his alchemy magic. Thanks to him, we were able to get down from these mountains quickly and safely. It saves time and energy as well.

During the trip, we found a lot of trees that are rarely seen in other kingdoms. As if, the trees were only able to grow in this area alone. As Hughess said, the kingdom has vast forest resources.

It's just that, it seems like this area also has a lot of monsters and beasts roaming around in the forest. I could tell it was from the detection magic as well as my sharpened sense of smell and hearing. But so far, I've found no sign of the devil's presence here. It seems they have not reached this plain and only appeared around the beach as reported.

We kept walking for about an hour. Although it looks quite close from the top of the mountains, who would have thought that this trip took a long time. Self illusion is an optical illusion magic that can change the shape of an object. With this magic, I can easily disguise myself as someone else. But this magic is very fragile. It will disappear if the user is injured, even if it is only a knife scratch though.

But for Kayn, I'm not sure he has that kind of magic.

"If it were for me, it looks like I'd be wearing a mask or something. Unlike Zayn, I don't have any illusion magic to cover it up. Besides, my job doesn't require me to communicate with other people, does it? I think I'll be fine" Kayn replied.

That made sense, because the only task he could do was to observe the situation around the southeast coast. Although he still needed information, he could still use a mask. After all, many adventurers used masks as their identity. It seems he won't be suspected that easily.

"If you don't have a problem with that, then it'll be fine" Hughess said. "In that case, we'll be in town soon."

"Alright, we're going through here" said Hughess casually, ignoring Elie and Liana who were still silent in astonishment.

"Truly incredible magic ...." Liana Mumbled.

"Yes, and very versatile," Elie continued.

"Hey, don't be dumb and come in quickly!" Shouted Fiera told the two of them who were left behind to immediately enter.

Still with amazed expressions, Elie and Liana entered the underground passageway Hughess had made. After the two of them entered, Hughess immediately closed the hole we entered so that no trace of our whereabouts could be traced.

It's a bit crowded here because the air is very limited, but at least it's safer than having to enter from the front door.

"After this we will rise to the surface. Make sure not to separate, it will be difficult if someone gets lost. At least you should go both ways" Hughess said. "Our main goal is to find a ride and also information. For now, we leave the ride-hailing to Kayn, because among us you're the most adventurous with your mask."

"Ah, I see," Kayn replied while wearing the mask she made with her Insomnia magic. "Give it to me."

"Ah, then I'll go with Kayn" said Liana.

"Then I'm with Zayn, right?" Elie asked embracing my arm.

"Yes, it's up to you" I replied.

"Hey, Fiera's gone with Zayn!"

"Fiera, you go with me—

"No way!!"

Ugh, Hughess' words were cut off. And that seems to make the ever-quiet Hughess a little serious.

"Fiera wants to go with Zayn—

Suddenly, Hughess clasped Fiera's arm and stared intently into Fiera's eyes. It's the first time I've seen Hughess glare like that.

"Fiera, this is an order. Do you know what happens when I get angry?" Hughess. "Or maybe, you want to go back to feeling my hell, huh?"

Instantly Fiera was pale and immediately conformed like a dog. Really, who are you afraid of, Fiera? What's really terrible in the test room is Chezie or Hughess?? Is it possible both?!
