Chapter 30 [Baekhyun's Eyes 8]

Baekhyun had already felt nervous many times before entering the stage. There were already thirty concerts that Baekhyun had performed, and supposedly, the first concert after he took a leave of absence this time felt easier. I don't know why it feels different. The man was struck by a considerable nervousness.

"You're different this time," Sangjin commented looking at Baekhyun who was pacing around the waiting room while biting his finger. Even before his big concert in Australia at the time, he was never as nervous as he is now.

"really?" ask Baekhyun. Sangjin smiled seeing Baekhyun like this.

"Trust me, he must have come to Korea to watch your concert" Sangjin said, trying to encourage Baekhyun and make him nervous again.

Suddenly the door of the room opened. Yuri emerged from behind the door with a smile.

"Well, you're so handsome wearing that outfit, Baek!" yuri said happily.

Baekhyun who was indeed from a few days ago was a little uncomfortable with Yuri's attitude, now only wears a thin smile. Yuri came here as a performer on the sidelines of Baekhyun's concert. The girl looked back, trying not to think that Baekhyun was looking at her. The man smiled again seeing Sohyun like that.

"Byun Baekhyun, it's good to see you working again on this stage. All your fans are looking forward to your new single. It's not unexpected that the single is going to be so fast once you get back."

"Ah, yes. I also did not expect to be able to return to this world of entertainment. My condition is better now. Thank you to the fans who always support me and give me encouragement," said Baekhyun smiling and this time staring at the entire audience in front of him.

Baekhyun smiled again glancing at Sohyun. The man could guess how stupid Sohyun's face was when surprised behind the mask.

"If the girl's here, what do you want to say?" ask the MC again.

Baekhyun's smile slowly faded, and he slowly looked at Sohyun again with a very meaningful gaze. The silence of those few seconds was enough to make Baekhyun think a great deal about their relationship that was getting worse as time went on. Baekhyun knew all the risks he was taking now.

"I'm sorry for the mistake I made with you. Both in the past, and in the future."

Baekhyun paused his sentence, still staring at Sohyun with the look of affection and love he had.

"I always hoped you would believe me and always be by my side. Thank you,..."

Then Baekhyun smiled faintly, "and I miss you."

The crowd of spectators returned to the stage. Baekhyun let out a long sigh before he sang his latest song. The song he made with all his heart, and all about Sohyun filled his head. All the longing that Baekhyun has this time he spills through the song, and Baekhyun hopes, Sohyun knows his feelings as well.

"You look good, Baek!" yuri exclamation approached Baekhyun when his performance was over and filled by the appearance of other artists. Sangjin was embarrassed to see Yuri now who always approached Baekhyun when the man had now met his heart.

"There's something I want to talk to you about, Yuri," Baekhyun said with a serious face. He then asked his manager to leave them both.

"What's up, Baek?" asked Yuri with a cheerful face.

"I should have asked you. What's wrong with you, Yuri? You forgot the deal you made?" baekhyun said with a very cold flat face.

Yuri's smile disappeared, "What does that mean? I don't understand what you're saying."

"I think you're too deep into your role, Yuri. We're just pretending to be dating. You said yourself that you wouldn't go beyond that. But why have you been acting so weird lately?" ask Baekhyun.

Yuri walked over to Baekhyun, her gaze feeling deep making Baekhyun uncomfortable.

"If I finally like you, how?" yuri said, making Baekhyun's heart beat fast. He clenched his hand. Baekhyun had expected this to happen.

"You're making me comfortable, Baekhyun. I drew my word that I wouldn't like you. Only you understand me" Yuri said.

Baekhyun stepped back, away from Yuri.

"Don't me. I already love other people" Baekhyun said.

"Who's the girl's name, huh?" Yuri looks unhappy.

"Kim Sohyun's." Baekhyun said Sohyun's name firmly, "So don't come near me, nor disturb our relationship."

Yuri's face was very unfriendly this time. Obviously the girl was upset that Baekhyun was always talking about that girl named Sohyun.

"Hi, Baek,"

Baekhyun was surprised to hear his name called out in a voice. The voice he so desperately longed to be half dead these few weeks. And now, Baekhyun felt disbelief in being able to reunite with the girl.

"Sohyun," said Baekhyun stunned to see Sohyun. That girl looks even prettier now.

"Oh, this is Sohyun?" yuri said with a smiling face, but Baekhyun was sure there was some sincerity there. Baekhyun glanced at Yuri with a sharp look, anticipating the strange girl to do anything to Sohyun.

"You look really cool, Baekhyun. I'm glad you can sing again" Sohyun replied smiling.

Baekhyun smiled, "Thank you for coming here."

Suddenly Baekhyun felt his arm being hugged by someone, and he was surprised not to play when Yuri was writhing on his arm, in front of Sohyun. Unfortunately, Baekhyun could not do anything because there were now some staff and Chairman Lee was at the end of the corridor. Surely Yuri realized that so she did so.

"My name is Min Yuri, I'm Baekhyun's girlfriend!"

Baekhyun knew Sohyun was as sick as him. The thunder in Baekhyun's heart grew louder when he saw Sohyun shake Yuri's hand in return.

"I'm Kim Sohyun," the girl replied still maintaining her smile. A very fake smile for Baekhyun.

"You're Baekhyun's friend?" ask Yuri.

"Yes, he's Baekhyun's friend."

A voice came not far from them. And out of nowhere, Taehyung appears here. Damn, Baekhyun forgot that this concert was in collaboration with Taehyung's fashion company!

And one more, Taehyung embraces Sohyun! Baekhyun was annoyed half-dead now. He didn't like the man embracing Sohyun so affectionately like that.

"Kim Sohyun is Baekhyun's friend, and he's my lover" said Taehyung, who made Baekhyun's heart melt.

Really it?

Baekhyun was silent. There was nothing he could say because he himself was shocked. Are Sohyun and Taehyung really dating?

The departure of Sohyun and Taehyung made Baekhyun feel sliced. Yuri released her embrace from Baekhyun's arm.

"Why are you chasing that girl again, Baek? She has a boyfriend now." Yuri said that with a flat face, making Baekhyun annoyed half to death.

The man decided to leave Yuri without saying anything. All he had to do was search for the truth about Sohyun and Taehyung.

"What do you want to see me?"

Baekhyun looked at the man before him coldly. The man called Taehyung and invited him to meet on the emergency stairs. Baekhyun desperately held back his fist so as not to float into Taehyung's face.

"What do you mean you said you were dating Sohyun, huh?" ask Baekhyun emotion. He waited for Taehyung to come into his waiting room and now the man is here. Baekhyun could not hide his emotions and jealousy anymore.

"That's right. Sohyun and I are dating. Why why?"

"Don't approach Sohyun because he's mine, Taehyung."

Taehyung laughed sarcastically at Baekhyun's words.

"Sohyun is not an item that you can arbitrarily entitle as yours. And one more thing, you already have Yuri, right? So I should have talked to you to stop approaching Sohyun."

Ah, that's exactly what Taehyung said. It seems he's the jerk now. He could not tell others the true circumstances.

"See, you admit it, don't you? So I'm telling you. Sohyun is my lover, so don't go near him anymore because I'll take care of him and protect him."

Taehyung finished his talk and he walked away from Baekhyun. But not ten steps, Baekhyun again voiced.

"Are you really going to protect Sohyun?"

Taehyung's steps came to a halt and he turned his head, "Eoh. I'll protect Sohyun."

"Whatever happened?"

Taehyung nodded. Baekhyun then smiled, but Taehyung himself knew that it was a smile full of bitterness and disappointment. Taehyung was quite curious about the meaning of Baekhyun's question. Would that man easily give up on Sohyun?

Baekhyun walked up to Taehyung, then he patted Kim's shoulder.

"Jaga Sohyun for me." Baekhyun passed away leaving Taehyung still covered in question marks.

Baekhyun pondered on the roof of the building after the concert. Time has shown one morning, and he feels lazy to return to his dorm. Slowly Baekhyun breathed in the air tonight and exhaled. The man's hand reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a cigarette. Baekhyun stared at the cigarette for quite a while and he smiled.

"Do I have to try it?" baekhyun murmured to himself. Baekhyun took the lighter out of his other pocket and turned it on. But not until the fire touched the tip of the cigarette, a hand rejected the match violently. Baekhyun was quite surprised and he turned his head. Yuri looked at him who now looked angry.

"What do you mean do this, eoh?! You forbid me to smoke yourself, but now you do too, huh?!" yuri Exclamation.

Baekhyun snorted, then smiled, "I'm just curious. He said trying this would lessen your burden a little."

Yuri pulled Baekhyun's hand forcefully to stand up. The man himself only complies.

"What do you want, Baekhyun?! Why are you like this?!"

This time Baekhyun chuckled, making Yuri herself cringe at Baekhyun's unusual nature.

"Don't you know what I want, and who can make me like this?" Baekhyun.

Yuri let out a rough sigh and she threw a glance in the other direction. She desperately held back her cries seeing Baekhyun like this.

"Can you forget Sohyun, huh? Why don't I, Baek?" yuri looked at Baekhyun deeply.

"I've let him down."

Baekhyun stared blankly at his feet, his smile very pitiful.

"I should have tried harder to defend Sohyun from Taehyung. But it seems that I was too lame to do that and chose to give it up" Baekhyun said.

"God..."

"As long as Sohyun is okay and someone is looking after him, I feel calm. If I can't protect her, there are my friends who might first make her body a shield to protect Sohyun. And now, there's Taehyung.

"Everything is ready to protect Sohyun. They can protect him. While me? Only a lousy guy tries to be a superhero to her. I'm not a great guy. I just always hurt Sohyun's feelings and made the girl cry. You know that, Yuri? So sorry, I can't return your feelings."

The man walked away from Yuri who was crying now. Baekhyun just didn't want the girl to know that now he himself had also cried.
