I looked out the window. The atmosphere outside was already much different to fifteen years ago when Dimas and I were still in school. I remember one day we missed the train, then we ventured back home on the bike, for some reason we did not think to take the bus. Actually after the accident Dimas Abah once advised to be more careful driving because it was as much as possible we did not go home on the bike unless forced.
If you remember that day it was really unlucky, suddenly Dimas motorcycle tires leaked in the middle of the road, we pushed the bike pretty far. The atmosphere at that time was very hot and quiet, right and left of the road was sugarcane rice fields, people around called it pouring. Now the pouring is turned into an industrial area that is crowded with large vehicles passing through.
Lucky when there was a tire patcher right next to people selling sugar cane ice drinks.
When the tire patcher removed the Dimas motorcycle tire, we saw that the tire had been torn, and had to be replaced with a new one. Dimas' pocket money has just been used to buy gasoline. I have a little money enough to buy a new tire, with the weight of my heart to release it, I give it to the tire patcher to buy a new tire on the market.
While waiting for the tire patch, Dimas and I gulped at the dew seeping from the glass where the cane ice looked very fresh. The sugar cane ice seller seemed to hear our hearts, suddenly he gave one glass of cane ice to both. He is still quite young, maybe two or three years above us, his name is Cak Di. Cak is a term for an older man, just like a mas, brother or sister.
“Nyoh le gawe cah loro,” said Cak Di while giving a glass of cane ice to Dimas, more or less meaning 'this deck for two' it was like getting a drink from heaven. Allah is the Rich.
“But we have no money,” said Dimas afraid if he would be told to pay
“Ora popo, iki for free, wis in umbe wong loro kunu, must ngelak anyway let nyurung honda?” answer Cak Di which means 'it's okay this is free, please drink it both, surely you guys thirsty to push off like a motorcycle' people in the area do call a motorcycle with a honda even though the brand of the bike is yamaha or kawasaki.

After that day every time we went home on a bike ride we would stop by to buy Cak Di sugarcane. Cak Di is a very good person, although he himself is in distress but he does not hesitate to help others. Every time we stopped by there was always something new we could learn from Cak Di. The word Dimas people like Cak Di should be used as a teacher, in gugu and imitated.
Dimas it's the guy who likes to show off I often call it arrogant but actually that's not what I mean. Dimas is an unpretentious person, although classified as a genius but he does not hesitate to learn from anyone, he said, he even woke up before dawn to learn to scavenge garbage from scavengers who often pick up garbage in the neighborhood around our school.
He said scavengers are great, they can look for great opportunities from small things that are considered useless by others.
"One day people in this world will appreciate their work."
I still remember Dimas once said it and it is proven, currently in Indonesia is rampant garbage bank movement. Each household sorts their own garbage, which can be utilized garbage separated from the waste residue dumped into the Final Processing Place or TPA. Such movements have been carried out in advance by developed countries such as Germany, Japan, Sweden and others. They even make advanced technology to process waste into renewable energy.

Along the way I was cool with my own memories so unconsciously we stopped in front of a fairly large food stall, there was a rest area, mushollah and several bathrooms there. We stopped for breakfast, I thought. When I entered the stall I saw there was Cak There, he was not like before, now he looked older, with a neat beard and white peci on the head.
Apparently it is a Cak Di sugarcane ice shop, where it sells in a gusur for the development of industrial estates. Dimas secretly helped her open a small shop just to hang out with the drivers from the industrial area. Because many visitors and his wife tried to sell food, only a few simple menus such as pecel and lodeh, but very in demand because it tastes good and the price is cheap.
Now the small shop has become big with a taste and price that is still good and cheap. I can't believe the guy I used to know as a street-side cane-ice salesman is now turning into a successful restaurant hawker. The wheel of life is always turning.
“Masyaallah this Cak Di? Wow it's been a success now?” I splashed in admiration
“Alhamdulillah, thanks to Mas Dimas,” said Cak Di while patting Dimas's back
“Thanks to hard work and sincerity Cak Di,” said Dimas evasive
“Leres loh Mbak Eka, if there is no Mas Dimas would have given up me,” said Cak Di assured me
“Alhamdulillah Cak Di, if there is no Cak On that day we must have given up, huh Mas? Thirst really do not have money to buy drink hehehe,”, I said to Cak Di who was greeted with a smile by him.
“Betul, Allah is Most Rich and compassionate, my sustenance is entrusted Cak Di, Cak Di sustenance is entrusted to me in order to help each other and become brothers,” said Dimas added
“Insyaallah dulur saklawase,” Cak Di replied while laughing and hugging the shoulder of Dimas, Dulur saklawase means brother forever.
This trip home is full of memories of the past that gave me so many lessons. For a moment I was silent to see Dimas who looked so cool in my eyes. How not, he who is far abroad actually cares more about the people here than I who only go to the Capital.
In silence I thought how much I felt about closing myself off from every reality in front of me and being busy creating illusions that I enjoyed myself. Had it been fifteen years ago that I would have been more willing to face problems maybe today I would have been a happier person. Dimas taught me how to feel happy from the happiness of others. Read Dimas, thank you very much.
