Reborn As A Haier-Elvian: The Blood Hunter And The Warlock (Replace To New Account)
Chapter 07 "Sun Festival"

"Stop calling me that, Almira! You make me look like a rare animal." I grumbled. Grunt folded both hands in front of his chest while looking at him.

"But you're a rarity, right?" The woman chuckled, shrugging her shoulders as if feeling innocent. Then sit on the sofa facing me. "I know what you're here for. You want to ask me to teach you about Esze again, don't you?"

I nodded quickly. It's good that he already knows my purpose here, so there's no need to be hard to explain it from the beginning.

"You're this .. Every time you come here you're always asking for that." The Elvian woman let out a long breath. Stretch out both hands on the back of the sofa. "At least bring me some food, cake!"

"You forgot? I've been buying you and your son food."

"Mostly in a regular store. This time buy us both at a fancy restaurant, and I'll."

"All right, but not anytime soon. Because now I'm being chased out, old bastard. So I don't have a penny right now."

"Dicted?" Almira raised her eyebrows.

Half an hour passed as I told him everything that happened yesterday. All the bugs in my heart I let go without straining. Grussel and Igresti certainly not missed. Those two people are what make my mood dark all day. Almira just laughed at my story, occasionally replying with ridicule. I regret telling this guy.

"Eat him, don't be a hunter if you're stupid!" cynical taunts. His voice came from the kitchen next to the living room. The aroma of green tea accompanied by the sound of stirring a spoon on the glass into the background of the sound of laughter.

Not long after he walked across the living room, his hands full carrying a tray. There are two cups of tea that are still lukewarm and a jar of chocolate pastries. I immediately grabbed a piece even though it had not yet reached the table. Almira glares. But I don't care. Shrugging my shoulders and taking another piece of cake.

"Being a hunter seems to make your nature brazen, yes!" Almira put the tray on the table. Present tea cups and pastry jars to the table.

"Come on! Don't be stiff like that. The one who always asks to be treated while eating, has no right to advise me on politeness."

Almira sighed, patting her head. Maybe he's tired of dealing with people like me. Without trying to regulate my attitude again, the woman took out one of the cups that was still emitting hot steam. Then took a sip without fear of her lips blistering. While I still need to blow it to cool. I'll bet that woman used Esze. It could be a technique to cool an item, or make his lips heat-resistant. I don't know, as a pure Elvian, it must have been easy for him.

Although sometimes it looks annoying, he's actually a very good person. Almira is the only person in town who can realize my true race despite being covered in a hood and thick clothes. From that woman I learned many things, especially how to use Esze. He trained me to use my potential as a half-elf human well. This woman also told me a lot of useful information in this country. Including about the great uproar if the world knew that my race was Haier-Elvian.

Suddenly I remembered the first time we met about eight months ago.

============

The city was celebrating the Sun Festival. A celebration dedicated to the Sun God, Lillio. As one of the two Great Gods worshipped in this land. On that special day, Glafelden City held a parade filled with worship rituals and dances in the city square.

In addition, the Sun Festival is also enlivened by a variety of art performances, food stalls, and traders who provide half-price discounts. For me who is new to this place, this Sun Festival is something not to be missed. There might be a nice new hood. I'm tired of using old models like this. If coupled with a mask, my appearance is almost similar to that of a miner in the ground.

I asked Dimas and Sister Shella to accompany me around. Earlier I had invited the Twins, Vian and Vani, but was rejected. The restaurant where the two worked opened a small shop at the festival, so there was no time to get around. I-i understand. At least I'll visit them later.

The three of us came in the morning. As the sun slowly rises. The weather looked very bright, not a single cloud as far as the eye could see. The wind blows breezy. Dry leaves fall off as the Sun Festival begins.

In the town square, which was two hundred meters long and one hundred meters wide, the ritual dance troupe entered from the west door. After a good look, this troupe of ritual dancers varied. There was a group of women wearing traditional red dress, a group of knights riding complete with uniforms and attributes, there was also a group of male dancers masked by animals that looked creepy. They started dancing after entering the square. At first glance, this ritual is similar to the Cultural Festival in Indonesia.

The group of mounted knights split into two groups, surrounding the group of female dancers from two sides. Then the masked dancers interrupt, trying to attack the female dancers. Although it looked like fighting, the knights and masked men were actually dancing. Aligning movements with each other, curling the body, and rotating gracefully. It's like a bunch of professional dancers. What amazes me the most is that the horses they ride, can dance to the direction of the knight.

"The horses were special for rituals, so they were taught to dance. Not to fight or pull a train" said Sister Shella.

In awe of the audience adorning this entire place. Some of them clapped and whistled, although it was actually banned because it would interfere with the festival. Me, Dimas, and Sister Shella all three were sitting in a corner of the square a bit away from the dancers. This place is higher than the ground level. So we don't have to worry about the audience standing up that covers the view.

"Hoo .. Who is it?" ask Dimas who is a little interested.

"That's the dancer who plays the Sun God Lillio" I replied slowly. I pulled the tip of my hood that was slightly lifted by the wind. My long ears should not be seen in this crowd.

My eyes did not come out of the middle of the square. Stare in awe at the Sun God dancer. He danced while posing punching his hand into the air. The monster dancers were exhausted one by one by him. A very good action.

"Kok, you know what?"

"While gathering information in the library, I accidentally read a book about myths. From there I know of the origin of the Gods in this world."

"Hoo." He showed his uninterested face again.

I've read information about past history. There are ancient legends that accompany the formation of this country thousands of years ago. It is said that in ancient times, the surface of this world was still dominated by monsters and giant-sized animals. The number of humans is still very small. Every day, humans are always shrouded in fear of being preyed upon. Even though they have mastered the science of fighting and surviving. All of that was nothing in the face of the ferocious monsters.

Until in the end, the Gods decided to descend from the kahyangan. Destroying most of the monsters in the world with His power and blessing. Until the monsters no longer dare to come out of the shadows of the world. Sun God, Lillio and his sister Lunaris, the goddess Rubiel who came to the surface, decided to settle in this country and protect humans from the threat of monsters. Therefore they are cultured as the God and Goddess of the country.

The Sun Festival is dedicated to Lord Lillio, but that doesn't mean they don't respect his younger brother. There is a separate festival devoted to the Goddess Lunaris, the Rubiel Festival, which according to the book will be held right next month. If the Sun Festival tells about the prowess of Lord Lillio who fought against monsters. The Rubiel Festival tells more about the good-natured Goddess Lunaris and helps many people. Of course the festival will be put on my agenda next month. Because it looks like it will be interesting, just like this festival.

Half an hour passed. The dance begins this ritual. The Sun Festival was followed by the burning of incense by several Sayjevs, religious leaders for the worshipers of the Sun God and Goddess Lunaris. Then they placed both hands on the chest and bowed in wisdom, followed by most of the spectators in the square. That's how they pray. Then one of the Sayjevs led the audience to sing the praises. Looks like this is gonna last a long time.

"Hey, let's go get some food! I'm hungry." Dimas suddenly gave the initiative. The man was quickly bored with something.

Me and Sister Shella looked at each other, then nodded. Walking followed Dimas who had already left the square. My stomach also seems to have started rumbling. To be honest, I feel uncomfortable when they pray. For I am not a devotee of their gods. Looks like Dimas and Sister Shella felt the same way.

The three of us went to one of the small streets near the square. Along the way, there are many food vendors here. Starting from snacks such as cassava chips, to heavy foods such as five-level sandwiches. The sweet smell of roasted cow sausage when faced with the embers, went into my nose. So did my ears that heard the hiss of cooking oil that seemed to blend into this place. I don't know why every meal in this place tempts me to buy it, but I don't have much money. So I just have to buy what I really need.

So I just have to buy what I really need

"Thank you, Miss Hooded! I don't know how you found my wagon in this big place" said one man who gave me two bronze pieces of change. He is a grilled octopus seller who is my favorite near the city center. I'm lucky I found it here.

"That's because your wares octopus has a distinctive aroma, Uncle! I knew you were here."

I waved my hand as I left. Then head to the long bench by the street lights. Dimas and Sister Shella were buying their food. So, I waited here and ate my teacher. Actually, I really want to go on a culinary tour and try every food there is. But right now I only have seven more pieces of bronze left, which I will use to buy a head covering.

The transaction system that runs in this country is a little unique. Instead of using standard currency units, they prefer to use metal pieces. One piece of silver is equivalent to one hundred pieces of bronze. So is one piece of gold worth a hundred pieces of silver. It feels really like the RPG game I've played.

A few minutes passed, I had already finished my grilled octopus. But the two people I'm waiting for right now, haven't come since. Maybe they were shopping together and forgot about me. Or maybe they just left me. Goddamnit! I should have known this was what was going to happen when I invited two people who were kasmaran. I let out a breath. Stretch both hands over the bench, then try to close the eyelids.

The next time I opened my eyes, a tall woman was suddenly in front of the bench. I was surprised, almost slumped backwards. The woman smiled at me kindly.

"Hello!" yells.

"Y-Yeah? What's up, huh?" my stammered reply. Still surprised by his appearance.

The woman lowered her head, then whispered something beside me. "You're ... Not human, are you?"
