Reborn As A Haier-Elvian: The Blood Hunter And The Warlock (Replace To New Account)
Chapter 28 "Loyal Friendship"

The attack paralyzed a large swarm of bats in front of the entrance. Their bodies were cut into pieces like a paper tear. Dark red blood splashed on the ground.

No more bats daring to get in here. The sound of the flapping of their wings sounded faintly starting to drift away. Perhaps realizing the strength of the larger enemy, the bat herd decided to leave.

The three of us remained silent in this place for a few minutes. Worrying if it was just a ploy and attacking us while off guard.

"You guys okay?" I asked Dimas and Sister Shella.

"No problem."

"I'm fine!" answer Sister Shella. "It was absolutely incredible! I didn't know you were that good!"

"That's not my strength, but this stick." I held up the viglet in my hand until the two people could see it.

Both Dimas and Sister Shella look very fascinated with me. Then stared at the ivory-colored viglet in black pattern that Prince Keylan gave with admiration. So do I. It feels like, if I use an ordinary viglet, I won't be able to make such a big lump of wind. At least just a gust of wind. But with this thing, my Esze energy output can be many times greater.

If an amateur like me could produce such great power, what about an experienced person controlling the power of Esze? Almira. I'm sure that woman could destroy the city if she wanted to. Unfortunately Almira did not want to use it when we were training. It seems the decision was right. If not, maybe I could have been knocked down by a hurricane that he accidentally created.

"Pig!" call Brother Shella soft. His soft voice was so light that it was barely heard at all.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Let's look at your back for a second!"

At first I was confused, but I did what he asked. I turned around and faced my back to her.

"Geez! You're hurt! There was a line fifteen inches long, and it looked quite deep" the girl exclaimed.

"There was one bat that almost bit me earlier, fortunately I managed to get through it before it actually stuck its fangs into my body."

"Give me this! I have to clean your wound before an infection occurs."

Sister Shella put her backpack on the ground. His hands looked for something inside. He picked up a piece of clean cloth and a small bottle of alcohol. After that, he dripped the liquid onto the cloth and began to sweep it around my wound. The effects of alcohol-inflicted wounds are really painful. But I can still hold it.

It's still the beginning of the journey, too soon for me to groan in pain. The attack of the Black Vampire Bat herd was indeed unexpected. Although this group can get away with sheer luck, it won't make me back off.

I decided I would go through it to the end. I don't know if I will survive or not.

It had already been five days since the man had left the Army Barracks in the capital. Traveling thousands of kilometers from Lurich to Glafelden took more than ten days by horse-drawn carriage. But the man and his colleagues cut it down to five days.

He continued to ride on his warhorse in any conditions and weather, whether it was hot or stormy. With a relatively short rest period, it would definitely make anyone feel tired. But not with that guy. Trained as an elite force, he and his comrades would not feel tired just because of a small thing like this. His gaze was so sharp looking forward. A haircut is almost bald, a characteristic that can not be separated from it. She is Indra, aka 'The Bald'.

"Captain! Glafelden's city gate is in sight!" he yelled at a man who was right behind his horse.

"Good! Sign the guard to open the gate!"

"Good!" Immediately after being ordered, from atop Indra's horse raised a high-flagged spear of the Kingdom of Lurivia.

Flag with Fire Bird emblem with two spears crossed each other. Everyone in this kingdom who sees this flag raised high, must stand tall and do respect. That's why the guards who usually laze around, are too lazy just to pay their respects. They immediately opened the gate without any inspection first. Because they knew, this cavalry was the royal army.

It was clear the residents knew something was wrong with their town. But since the capital had not given any news to this day, they could still consider this situation safe and nothing to worry about. The townspeople returned to their respective activities after the riding platoon vanished from sight.

"We've arrived, Captain Gufiy!" said one of the knights when they were right in front of the gate of Glafelden's mayor's office. "I've asked the mayor to help us with the investigation. Accommodation while we were here was also prepared."

"Good job, Erik!" replied Captain Gufiy. The man snapped his finger while pointing at Erik.

After the servant opened the gate, they entered and descended from the horse. While the servants pulled their horses into the stables that were at the back of the courtyard.

Captain Gufiy led his troops to meet the mayor who greeted them at the entrance. The mayor's body was slightly bent, looking in contrast to Captain Gufiy's tall body. The two shook hands and made small talk, a ritual that is very mandatory when meeting someone after a long time.

The elite troops arrived at the mayor's office at dusk, the perfect time for dinner to be served. The mayor entertains them with very fancy food, such as honey-baked cows or roasted rib sticks. Actually there is no need to entertain guests with luxurious food. But because of the tradition of 'Make guests feel comfortable' in this kingdom, the mayor felt the need to serve a delicious dish. Moreover, this army came from the capital and carried a warrant from the kingdom.

After dinner, all the troops are assigned to investigate the whereabouts of the 'Fig the Mixed Race Girl', who becomes their target. All the information that these troops have about Anggi is not much. Just a Haier-Elvian woman named Anggi. The information about her characteristics was not very specific, only the young girl with long hair. There are so many people in this city. They seem to have to work hard to find the girl.

But that doesn't mean they won't find him. As an elite trained army they've been taught how to sniff out a person's smell. Things like lack of information only hinder the process, not stop it.

It can certainly be known clearly by Indra and Erik. As friends of Anggi who come from the same world, they will not be careful if they have to sell their own friends. Even Indra had sent a warning letter to Shella in this city a few days earlier. Both were forced to betray their armies and their countries for the sake of a friend.

Tonight they are ordered to gather information, both very well know sooner or later one of the troops will get information about Anggi. That's why they decided to search for the existence of Anggi faster than the other elite forces.

The two men reached Bibi Saantya's clinic, but did not find Shella. Everyone at the place said they did not know where the girl was going. The letter he left behind only said that he would go with Anggi somewhere. Even the twins Vian and Vani only found out that Anggi had left the city.

"I think I know where he's going, Indra!" said Vani, when met at the restaurant where he worked.

Then he briefly recounted the information about the Indemnius Spirit Crystal that Anggi had just discovered. It was something new in the ears of Indra and Erik. It is only natural that they both put on serious faces and do not believe.

"It feels hard to believe! But if that was the case, they were heading towards the Elvian territory right now!" Indra scratched his back head even though it was not itchy. He was confused by all the things that had just entered his brain.

"Let's go, I don't know where it's going. Maybe you should ask Grussel!"

Indra was scratching his head faster. Feeling lazy to move when his ears heard the old man's name. In the past when he lived in the hunter's headquarters, Grussel always yelled and gave him more work because of his large body. No doubt, the man felt sorry for Grussel.

But how else? He must meet her if he wants to know the whereabouts of Anggi and the girl's purpose.

Eventually Indra and Erik went to meet Grussel at the hunter's base. Initially Grussel taunted the two who were wearing armor and the frills of royal knights complete with war horses that were the mounts of the two of them. But Grussel was willing to tell them all the information they both needed.

"Arnest City," Indra said as he clenched his hand tightly. "We should go catch up with them!"

"Are you sure?!" erik was arrested. "If you do, it means you've betrayed our army!"

Indra paused for a moment, his eyes looking sharply at his friend. "Since we shut our mouths and hid information about Anggi from them, we've been traitors. What difference does it make if we betray then or now?"

Erik. "That's what you are. Face may be sad, but still care about your own friends."

"Are you saying to leave your friend alone?"

"Of course not." Erik rode on the horse to encourage him to walk. After a few steps, he stopped and looked back. "Why are you still there? Were your words just a prank?"

After being pushed by his close friend, Indra immediately climbed on the horse and chased after him. When he said goodbye to Grussel, the old man gave the two some food for the trip. As the saying goes, don't value a book by its cover. Who knew a fierce-looking person like Indra and Grussel turned out to have kindness and care for others in the heart?
