Reborn As A Haier-Elvian: The Blood Hunter And The Warlock (Replace To New Account)
Chapter 25 "Relationships to Keep"

"What do you mean?!" exclaim Dimas with a high tone.

"Read this letter yourself!" I replied, giving the letter I had just read.

My mind is so fucked. My hands tremble like a cold person, but they are not at all. I leaned my head against the sofa and closed my eyes as if I wanted to forget what had just entered my head.

The letter came from Indra's sister who is now in the royal capital, Lurivia. After going there to be a soldier, he often sent Kak Shella letters to exchange news. Usually it is about life in the capital and how Indra and other friends train hard. But the letter that came this time was not something I could read enthusiastically.

The letter says that an elite cavalry squad was assigned to the town of Glafelden, and he was one of them. Their mission is to bring 'someone' from this town. Indra said most likely the target of this mission was me. Because his commander once accidentally said something about a mid-race creature.

Of course I'm surprised I'm not playing. Why can they sniff about my whereabouts?

Though I have been very sure mingle with other humans in this city perfectly, also interact with normal in the city residents. As much as possible I acted appropriately so as not to be suspected as a suspicious person. The only one who can detect my true identity is an Elvian like Almira who can read Esze's existence.

Is it possible that any ordinary human could read Esze's whereabouts and report it to the capital?

Or maybe the capital had Elvian subordinates stationed in this city as spies?

Or it could be ....

"This must be the Elvian Prince!" dimas said beaveringly, his hand squeezing the letter.

"How can you draw conclusions without clear evidence?" my protest.

"It's not hard to think about."

Grussel's voice suddenly echoed from the doorway. Looks like the wooden walls of this house can't make this room soundproof. This news reached the ears of the bastard who was on the front porch. He took the letter from Dimas' hand, then stretched it back out so that it could be read after it was squeezed by Dimas. Then the old man cleared his throat once and passed nearing the sofa.

"That's the story" he said after reading the letter. "If I have to draw a conclusion, I agree with Dimas' words."

"Can you explain to me why?" I squeezed my hand. Feeling a little annoyed and angry that these two people have accused my life-saver of vague accusations.

"Think of this, Anggi! Your prince may not be the crown prince, but he is still a son of the king. Why do you think people seem to be so kind to you when all Elvians look down on you other than their own race?"

"Of course because he is good and does not discriminate others."

"Are you sure you are?" reply Grussel, next to his eyebrows rose and shaped like a circular green caterpillar. "Don't be so naive, son! Of course he's being nice to earn the trust of you who's a Haier-Elvian. This is just speculation, but I suspect that the one who leaked the secret of your existence to this country is your dear prince.

"Thus the Kingdom of Lurivia will hunt you down, which makes you inevitably have to rely on the Elvian prince to escape their pursuit. It seems like the prince intends to play you a trick by showing that all he can protect is himself. You need to remember, Haier-Elvian has the potential in controlling Esze stronger than anyone. If you were by his side, the prince would have a strong standing. You could have been used as a tool to wrest the crown prince from his brother."

"That's a lie!!" I shouted out loudly, making everyone in this room shocked. "Prince Keylan couldn't have done that!"

Grussel was silent for a moment. Looked at me with his sharp gaze. The longer I look at it, the less I feel good about it. He also felt guilty for yelling in front of him and thought he was boasting.

But what he said was really just nonsense with no evidence. It would be almost impossible if Prince Keylan was two-faced. The kindness and sincerity he showed me felt so real. During my dark time when Junior High was, I could tell which ones were two-faced or which were truly sincere. There were so many people who pretended to be good by defending me when I was bullied. But the fact is they actually enjoy the bullying that happens to me like watching a circus show. I even memorized the guts and character of a sycophant.

Grussel got up from the sofa and approached me. His large palm gently patted my right shoulder. "You believe it or not it's up to you, just keep my words in your mind. Obviously, you can't be in this town anymore. An elite army is chasing you here, which means they won't just pick you up. You should leave immediately."

"But ... Where should I go?" ask me confused. If I can't live in this city anymore, I have nowhere to go.

"It looks like you should start looking for spirit crystals in Elvian territory."

"Cannot be. I'm not strong enough to start that journey."

Grussel gripped both of my shoulders and said straightforwardly. "Listen, I think this is a good time! Maybe there's an army chasing you. But because of the agreement made between the two countries, they would not be able to enter the Elvian territory as it would be considered an invasion.

"You'll just follow your beloved prince's little game, but don't let your guard down. Because he could've rode you at every little opportunity. I know you're still green to start the journey, but you have to keep doing it. I don't know what kind of obstacle you'll encounter later, but I'm sure you can get through it."

I was stunned for a moment. My body trembled trying to get away from Grussel. My mind is very confused and I can't think clearly. There was one army that wanted to capture me, while in front was a journey filled with danger. It's a terrible situation, as if I'm faced with two revolvers from different directions.

Sweat starts to wash over your back. The energy seemed to disappear from my body that was almost bent backwards. Fortunately, there was Dimas who prodded me. I really want to take a break and if I can, forget all these things.

"You gotta make a choice, son! Now or never!" grussel.

"You okay, Anggi?" asked Dimas, his face was overwhelmed with anxiety. "Your face looks very pale."

But I ignored him and looked at Grussel with a faint look. "I ... will try to do it." Then try to get up from the floor with the help of Dimas' hand.

"Hey, you're definitely not okay!"

"Don't mind me! Grussel was right, I had to start this journey" I said softly.

"If you let me protect you. I will no longer let you into danger alone."

I looked directly at Dimas, surprised by what he said just now. Our distance was so close that I could feel her every breath. His eyes were so firm, there was no sign of doubt in them. It was as if his mouth said calmly and calmly.

Indeed, I already knew that Dimas would come with me. But I didn't expect him to say such a thing. A little embarrassing, but it also makes me happy. A warm feeling suddenly melted within the heart. Expel all the worries and fears that surround. I don't know why in my eyes he was so shining, like a candle in the dark. I can't help this happiness. My hands squeezed tightly into his fingers. If only there were only the two of us in this room, I would have hugged him.

"Yes, thank you."

The words spoken from my mouth felt so sincere from within the deepest recesses of my heart. I've never felt so grateful to anyone other than Dimas. He was a friend who accompanied me at all times. I am grateful to have been given such a wonderful blessing by God.

Sure, I'll keep this relationship up anytime.
