Reborn As A Haier-Elvian: The Blood Hunter And The Warlock (Replace To New Account)
Chapter 22 "Mysterious Black Box"

When I turned to the source of the voice, my eyes found a familiar figure. The silhouette of a man waving from across the river. Next to the fence that borders the great bridge. The figure immediately ran around a little over the stone bridge.

After the distance between us shortened, I recognized him. The man ran past several merchants with his cargo who were probably about to sell merchandise to the Elvian territory. For a moment, the man seemed to graze a cargo. Naturally, when the owner was angry, the man immediately apologized.

You impatient man! He could run more carefully. That's what Dimas is, my only friend.

Seeing her heading towards the fingers with a happy face made me powerless to run towards her. Dimas hugged me tightly. The anxiety and worry he felt flowed profusely through his arms. It was as if he didn't want me to disappear from his eyes again. After everything that had happened, I understood his feelings clearly. I am too. So happy to see him again after so long.

I also returned the response.

"How do you know I'm back today?" ask me who is curious.

"Since that day I've been waiting for you here. Wish you'd come back." The man's voice sounded heavy in my ears. His breath tickled the nape of my exposed nape. "I didn't expect this day to come either."

I slowly broke away from her embrace.

"What happened to you after that? Did something bad happen to you? Why did you come back so long? You're okay, right?" Dimas looked anxious and gave me a rush of questions.

"long story. I will tell you later when I return to headquarters," I replied casually. Trying to calm my overly anxious best friend. "For my circumstances you can see for yourself with your eyes! I'm fine."

"So .. great! What matters is that you're okay." After that Dimas glanced behind me, where Prince Keylan and some of the cavalry were. "Then .. Who are these people? Does this Elvian have anything to do with you?"

"They were the ones who helped me in the town of Elvian. The man whose hair was ponytailed was the third prince of the Western Elvian Kingdom, Keylan. While the woman who was there was Lyle, the servant of Prince Keylan," I said as I introduced the two people who had helped me.

Dimas looked gawky and could not say anything. His eyes looked at me and the two people alternately.

Seeing her face like that made me powerless to tease her a little. "I know you won't believe me who's been to the city of Elvian. But it's up to you to believe it or not, yang—."

"I'm more surprised by the Elvian prince's presence here than that."

"You're Dimas, right?" ask Prince Keylan. "Fig told me about you. It seems you who is his best friend is the truth."

Dimas only replied with a small nod. He was still staring in disbelief at Elvian who was in front of him. Meanwhile, Prince Keylan looked at Dimas from head to toe carefully. The shabby clothes of my best friend and his worn out sword did not escape the examination of the third prince.

Seeing him makes me cringe. Because the gaze he made right now felt so sharp and creepy. Full of deep hostility. Unlike the warm looks and smiles he always gave me.

"Then .. I beg you to resign. Thank you for the kindness you've given me over the past two weeks, Prince Keylan!" I said that I felt a little awkward about this situation. I did not forget to bow in honor of him.

There was the sound of shoes resting on the ground, causing a clear sound to be heard among the sounds of insects in the bushes. I raised my head as the sound of footsteps approached.

"No need to thank me. I'm just giving what I'm supposed to give to people in distress." Prince Keylan patted me on the shoulder. "From now on, be careful with every action you make. Moreover, you will be living your own adventure. Don't get into trouble that you should be able to avoid."

"Good."

"And .. I also want to give you something."

Prince Keylan grabbed something from under his cloak. The object taken by him was a black box that was about 30 centimeters long. The surface of the box was shiny as if it was made of marble. Embedded gold carvings give the impression of elegance and luxury. I don't know what's in it, maybe something bigger than the box that's gonna blow me away.

Surely my guess! When the man opened the box. My eyes were made to shine with the thing that was there. A viglet that is quite thick with ivory color patterned black at the base. I don't know what this thing is made of, but it looks like it's pretty rare. Because the texture looks smooth, not rough like a regular viglet.

"Wait on! That, kan—." exclaimed Lyle stifled. His face was astonished, as well as the Elvian cavalrymen.

"Is that okay, Prince!?"

"Of course not" Prince Keylan replied gently to Lyle. Then move on to me. "Receive this!"

"It's something precious, right?" reply me carefully.

"Yes, very valuable. That's why I wanted to give this thing to you. Think of it as a little parting gift from me."

At first I hesitated. My hand seemed to have two thoughts, between rejecting it or taking it. Other than the shelter and food that the past few days had provided, I felt bad about having to receive another favor from him. At the same time I also wanted a new viglet after the previous one was broken. It would be a lie if I said I didn't want a vigorous viglet like this.

My eyes looked at the golden-carved black box and the prince's face in turn. It was just the warm smile he showed me. I still can't believe he would give me something as valuable as this. Worrying if something happens later in life.

But he is a good man. For two weeks in Elvian territory, he always showed me kindness and sincerity.

That's why I picked up this black box even though there were still doubts left.

"Thank you very much!" Once again I bowed my body deeply as a sign of respect and gratitude.

"I told you there's no need to be formal until you have to bow your head."

Our eyes looked at each other. Stare deeply, before the man finally throws a smile.

"Then we split up here. I hope you find what you're looking for."

Prince Keylan waved his hand, turned his body and intended to return to his comrades. But I stopped him by holding his arm. The Elvian man looked a little surprised to see me.

"Thank you for everything, Prince! I will not forget all this goodness" I said enthusiastically. "And also, may we meet again someday."

I throw a faint smile. Those words are true. I want to see him again to repay all his kindness.

Prince Keylan said nothing more afterwards and immediately turned around. I stared at his back slowly away from me. After he and his cavalry returned to the forest, Dimas and I walked into the city.

"Seriously, how did you get acquainted with an Elvian prince?" asked Dimas as we crossed the bridge.

"Want to know or want to know?" my God with a smile full of frown.

"Hoi ... let me know!"

"No, ah."

I laughed and ran away from him. Entering the city of Glafelden where I can regain a quiet and peaceful life. The morning sun shone on the city and the people inside. Refreshed my longing mind with the atmosphere of this city.

I thought I could live quietly for a while, and delay the search for the Spirit Crystal until I was at least strong enough. But I don't know if my big adventure will have to start in the next few days.
